Moving Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Moving Thursday

Postby Birdie » Thu Aug 04, 2016 5:05 am

Today is new campground day. S after we break up here, hookup, dump, we will drive up the road a bit and stop at the Oceaniarium. It also houses the Lobster Hatchery. We need to check that out cuz we did some damage on the lobster population! From there we head to Bangor. Tomorrow we tour all things Stephen King! The weather has been good for our site seeing of Acadia National Park. Wonderful cool nights for sleeping. Beth it is hard to believe that your job will be over here shortly. Summer is moving right on along. Have a fun day! If traveling be safe.

Gmorning Birdie & all to follow:)

Good to see you here this a.m. Birdie. Up early & enjoying Acadia?! Sounds like you're having a great trip. Sue, leaving for your trip soon?

I've been busy at cousin's all week preparing for yard sale this weekend. Last fall was to be her last, but she "found" more stuff to sell. Good for me, since I'll end up with a new wardrobe  Getting home each afternoon to deal with the harvest. Bro on his two week trip, so I get to do all that!

Alice, how was your first day back to work? Hope you have some easy students this year! Anita, glad you made it safely to Quantico:)

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Mornin' Birdie, Carol & all that follow ~~~

Sounds like you are having a wonderful trip Birdie. And Carol I see you are staying busy as usual. Wish you & Sue could sell some of your energy to the rest of us (well to me at least :D ).

Still not a whole lot going on around the Chitown burbs that I know of. The Air & Water show is coming up. Even though I'm approximately 60 some miles from the lake, I've sometimes see planes heading to the show depending on where they are flying in from & wind direction. I've seen the Oracle team, Thunderbirds and Blue Angels once or twice, but just as a fly-over. No tricks over land

That's it. Not much. Have a good day ladies & stay safe on the roads.

Good morning! Just hanging out in bed while several severe thunderstorms have been rolling thru. More coming from the west. I left my kayak in the middle section of the beach since that is the only area so far that hasn't gotten washed out by the heavy rains. So am hoping for the best!

Have the day off. Lots to do around here if I can get motivated. Have another therapist appointment later this afternoon. She is about 30 miles west of me now but will be moving her office to a much closer location sometime in August. Meanwhile, there is a Walmart in the town she is in now so that makes the trip a little better!

Hope those of you on the road are having great adventures!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning,

Birdie, you are having such a great trip! Everytime you mention lobster, my mouth waters. Rosemary, sounds like a fun week ahead! Martha, since I guess I should do something about phone numbers in case something happens to my phone while on the road - especially when I am without the camper! Carolb, along with getting ready for the garage sale, I'm sure you and Diane have just had fun being together!

Never thought I'd be in Washington, D.C. again. Two nieces and I took 3 kids to the Smithsonian Zoo yesterday! Thought my niece was very brave to drive - we saw several monuments and were almost passed the White House when I saw it. So excited to see the Giant Pandas - even if they were just sleeping! We were blessed with cooler temps and less humidity for the day. I think they are coming here today to go to the water park.

I am at the Pohick Recreational Park near Lorton, VA. It's good access to D.C. plus has the water park, boat launch and trails. If I come to this side of the country again, I think I just might come back here to explore. I have never toured Mount Vernon and there are monuments I have yet to see (some new since I was here last)

Make it a great day, stay cool and safe travels.

Birdie, I totally enjoyed driving past Stephen King's home. It fits him. I met one of his neighbors and had a great conversation.

59 degrees this morning in Keystone. Actually thought about turning on my heater to take the chill off :) Today will only get into the mid 70's. And could be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow morning before going back into the 80's, 90's for highs. Love the temps here, most of the time. Could do without the hail, though.

Anita, I need to revisit Washington DC and the area. So much to see and do. Glad to hear about another place to potentially stay. Thanks.

Unless Sturgis kicks in big time, will take today mainly off. Just a pretty much do nothing day, but might head into Safeway. Need some staples.

It's moving day for me too...five miles down the road to another campground between two more lakes. Lava and Little Lava Lakes. More kayaking and hiking for 3 more days. Then we'll see where the wind blows me.

I'm sure envious of all the lobster...did that last year. Loving reading about all the trips going on, but not envious of the heat some of you are experiencing. Beth, I have turned my heat on for a few minutes the last few mornings. Temps in the 40s, but warms up nicely when the sun comes out. I wore a sweatshirt all day yesterday! But not complaining. I love it.

Not checking out early here...I want to make sure I can get in to my next site, so will spend the time doing some housework.
Enjoy the day, wherever you are.

It's already hit 100 this morning. That is just too hot. It looks like Earl is over land so we shouldn't see anything from him.

I didn't know they had Lobster Hatcheries. It's a good thing as much as people eat them. I still want to make it up that way someday and try a lobster roll.

Barbie, it's hard to believe there are places that don't have a Walmart close. There are probably 5 or 6 within 25 miles of me.

Yes, Anita, it's a lost feeling when I realize I am off without my phone. We have come to depend on them so much. There is a computer in the waiting room at the Ford dealer so I was able to get into my email and send my son an email telling him to answer the house phone if it rings. Most of the time we don't answer the house phone if we don't recognize a number. I made the mistake of going too close to Washington, D. C. the year I drove to New Jersey. I made sure I didn't come back that way.

Good morning
Got my route picked today, differant schools, differant kids. A few names I recognize and already know they are not problems.
Did the drug test but the technician dropped it and it went down the sink. Needless to say I had to wait and do another oner. A bottle of cranberry and a bottle of water later finally got me out the door. Been fighting uti for several days and now today I feel a stone trying to make its way down. I had a miserable painful night. Will get some rest today and hopefully have some relief very soon. Tomorrow we practice our route and Monday is first day for students. Hope they are all great kids.
Y'all have a great day and be safe.
