Early morning fog and we have an early ring time. Those of us with coated dogs just love early ring times. At least this show both my friend and I only have one dog each to get ready. I usually plan about an hour for each dog. I say this to point out the difference between the time I spend grooming and preparing the dog and the amount of time I spend on my own grooing and hair. There is a reason I keep my hair short and don't wear makeup.

Hope everyone finds a little magic in this day even if they have to make it themselves.

(Yes, I know there are more terrible news stories on this morning, and some very difficult weather......I will keep all in my thoughts but focus my energy on that which I can control.....)

Good morning all... I have been playing around with the new to me RT... Took Pheebe & the RT out for a day trip yesterday it was in the high 90s but I have had enough and we just had to go ...went to check out of park / boat ramp up by Pineda Causeway which turned out to be a bust no place to picnic just a boat ramp in the parking lot... so we went to Chick-fil-A and parked at a pond close by to eat lunch then we went to Hobby Lobby Pheebe was allowed in the store so we walked around in there about an hour I bought some paint and a stamp just what I need more crafts... then we came back down to Wickham Park they were having some kind of a kids festival and it was jam-packed we rode around the campground then I parked and let Pheebe run wild for a while then we went to the Home Park and it was jam-packed so then we just came on back to Camp driveway it was around 4 p.m. by that time... I sure would like to go out again today but this heat is getting to me you can only be outside about 10 minutes not fun just to sit around inside the RT and looking out... but maybe it's not too bad because you got a different view anyway that's what I'm doing hope

Good Morning to All - so excited - just looked at the outdoor thermometer and it is ONLY 84 - first morning in weeks it has been below 90! Finally going to cool down some here in Vegas. Supposed to have a week of 101 to 103 - SOOOOOO much cooler. And I can even see the mountains behind us - yesterday and the day before because of a storm in the Phoenix area that sent wind our way the air had so much dust in it we couldn't see the desert over the fence let alone the mountains.
I know what you mean about getting out of the house,. We've only been going out really, really early to do errands and staying inside rest of day for two weeks. At least I got a bunch of sewing projects done. But now they are all done so I have to come up with something else to keep me busy. Today there is a NASCAR race, that will take up a couple of hours. Thought about starting a knitting project but decided it is just to hot to have yarn in my lap.
We take the RV in Wednesday to get the awning replaced so maybe by the weekend we'll hunt for someplace cool and dry to go for a few days.
We bought a couple of those skillets "As seen on TV" in Walmart. Bill used then last night and said he was going to divorce me and marry the pans. He loves them. I made him a couple of handle pot holders - they have metal handles??? They are less than $20. Guess we'll be getting a couple for the RV too. He says he has to be careful cause the food will slip right out of the pan if he tries to flip it.
Enjoy your Sunday, be careful if traveling and stay out of bad weather if possible. We actually had flash flood warnings here last night. But both rain drops didn't cause many problem. I'm trying to write the blog daily if you wan't to keep up with our exciting life. Well we're closing in on 80 so exciting is getting up in the morning.

Yesterday was horrible. My pain has subsided, but only after driving 40 miles in agony to the nearest emergency room late yesterday afternoon. It started out achy and mild, but then got to the point where I could only pace back and forth. And I was staying in a no-hookup campground in Theodore Roosevelt Natl Park at 90 degrees. So even with the generator going and the AC on, I was dripping sweat, I think partially from the pain. When I took my blood pressure and found it was a ridiculous number, I put my slides in and got out of there to find a doctor. By this point it was worst kidney stone pain I had had in many years, so the drive was agony, but I did not want an ambulance ride and to leave my motorhome in Medora where the park is. I was never so happy to see that blue H sign along the freeway!

Anyway, found a hospital in Dickinson, ND, and had the absolute nicest older doctor ever!! They got me in and put something in an IV for me. Gave me a cat scan and indeed found a 2.5 mm stone most of the way down the ureter on its way to the bladder. (Once it gets there, easy to eliminate.) Had to take a full pain pills before bed which took a while to work, but most of the night I was and still am pain free. And also called a campground from emergency room and owner was nice enough to meet me at office and direct me into me site and help me get hooked up because it was so dark by then and I was not feeling well.

A little achy this morning, but headed east to Bismarck today which is only 100 miles and have reservation in state park with electric and water, so will be comfortable.

Gave me a prescription for stronger pain meds and a full printed-out description of blood and urine tests and cat scan. Even gave me a CD with cat scan digital pictures in case I end up later on at another emergency room.

Oh, Judy, I'm so glad you're feeling better. That sounds just miserable!

Grooming before an early ring time . . . on yeah. Showing dogs was so much fun. You make me laugh, Tina. When I was a teenager, I'd be grooming like mad before our ring time. Then my mother would turn up with a hairbrush and start fussing with my hair! "Mom, quit it, I'm busy; nobody is going to be looking at me anyway."

Judy, hope you are feeling better today! I have never had kidney stones but have heard how painful they are. I don't do well with pain so hopefully I won't ever have to deal with that!
I ordered one of those pan handle covers you mentioned. Will also look into one of the pans that Carol bought.

Meeting a friend soon at Caribou for a bit. I have another lead on a room for rent but haven't heard back from them yet (they responded to my ad) but it looks like a nice large newer house and I would get the lower level and a garage. Will see how that goes. Also saw a really good deal (?) on a older Shasta 13' trailer that I am looking into. Of course, depends on the condition but pics look like it has been well cared for. Will see on that one too...

Otherwise, will be a day for working on little projects around here. Low 80's and sunny today. Nice!

Judy, I'm glad you had a good ER experience. That seems to be the exception instead of the norm. More hospitals should put RV hookup in the parking lot so you could be close. Some hospitals you can't even get a motorhome into the parking lot. I won't see a doctor in our town because I don't want to end up in the local hospital. I'm still POed at them after Harold's last ER visit. Hope you are feeling better.

It is 102 and slightly overcast. A shower would be welcome to cool things off a little.

I showed horses in high school and I think I got that out of my system. It's a lot of work to get a horse ready and try to stay clean. We didn't have the fancy living quarter horse trailers in the "olden days". lol It's amazing the number of big horse trailers at a show now compared to the junk we hauled around.

We gave Harold the day off from cooking and picked up BBQ chicken in town. The grandson doesn't like steak very much but looks like he will eat BBQ. They came in with another big cake. It's coconut this time. I just wonder how much junk food his mother lets him eat. When he's here he eats just about anything he wants. He has been playing with Frosty with things Frosty will chase. Now Frosty thinks he's his friend and he wants to sleep by him. I should have taken a picture of them yesterday. Jeremy was sitting on the pillows at the head of the bed and Frosty had the rest of the bed. Jeremy is still afraid to pet him. He moves too fast and scares a cat.

I was able to fit my motorhome into about 6 spots in the emergency room parking lot. I told them I would move it if it got busy because it was such a small parking lot. I would have parked in one of the larger lots, but they did not connect, and at that point, I just wanted pain relief. I think my experience was good because it was a small-town hospital. Just big enough to have hospital rooms and a real emergency room, but not a lot of crowds--one doctor and some nurses and an x-ray technician. They got my blood work done fast, and got me into the cat scan all within an hour. That is like really speedy based on my past experiences of waiting hours. And to give me a CD and detailed written records with all my test results was fantastic. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon and early evening.

It was the worst pain I have had since my pancreatitis, and he said my kidney was pretty swollen, but I still feel good today. A little soreness and really tired, but that is all.
