good morning,,,,,heres the west side waking up the east side, lol
so I spent the day up in Superior yesterday, it was a nice break and good company. My friend
Bill had to return the rental car he picked up in El Paso so needed someone to drive his truck
into town so he could get back home. The motorhome is still in El Paso getting a rebuild on
the motor, crankshaft, etc. to the tune of $4800. Ouch. In a week or so he'll catch a greyhound
back down to El Paso to bring it home.
At least it was cooler in Superior, Maggie loves it and often gives me really sullen and sad looks
when I tell her get in the car, its time to go home.
Back to work a week from tomorrow.
Ya'll have a great day, and be safe.

Morning Alice and all,

This east sider has been up since a bit after 7, but wanted to have a quick breakfast and go spread out some bags of dirt I bought at WalMart yesterday before the sun gets up and into the backyard area. So got that done, mowed the grass in the fenced in area and took my blower and went over that yard and around garage etc. So now am in house and heading for a shower in a bit, then off to town.

'We have some gorgeous weather here right now. Cool mornings and sunshine, with low humidity and dewpoints. Yesterday was as a perfect summer day as one could want. Today will be a little warmer, but they are not talking a humidity situation. Neighbor and I were saying that right now, we have the best weather in the whole country for the most part and from looks of long range forecasts, going to stay that way. Some days in 70's, some days in 80's.

Got the last of the deck renovation done yesterday since it was so nice and then in afternoon, neighbor came over and installed by new front storm door. It is one of those that has a self storing screen in the top. Love it. Great cross ventilation in my living room now. The old door was a solid glass door that had to have the whole glass removed in order to put in the screen and vice versa. Pain in the a..... He will come over later this week possibly and install the new on for the side door too. Is also going to install my new light fixtures later on. Great to have neighbors like that.

So I am taking the old storm door up to Habitat for Humanity. Could advertise and sell it, but decided to donate it to them. They may even be able to use it too, who knows. The need to get some food for the girls. Gotta have that or they will figure out a way to raid my fridge, the which of is probably better than their fare anyway, As is, BBQ pork chops in the slow cooker for today.

Alice, hard to believe it's time for you to start back to work already. Summer is going by way to fast. Guess Carolb and company are having a great time in NY. Haven't heard if they need the bail money though. Liz is also having a great trip. Judy, take it easy driving back across the country to MI and OH. It's pretty hot out that way. Maybe should come along the north border and go through the U.P. and down. Much cooler and enjoyable weather.

Time to head for shower. Hope you all have a nice day. Keep cool where it's extremely hot and be safe on the roads out there.

Good Morning,

Cool and breezy in Cooperstown, NY. I'll head in to the Hall of Fame later to see Griffey's plaque and tour the museum. I was told there was a 2 hour line to see the plaque yesterday! Oh well.

Carolb and O'Sharon picked me up yesterday and we had lunch at a nice little place right next door. Sat on the porch while the rain came down! Carolb took us for some sightseeing in Cooperstown and then O'Sharon had a SS ride. Why do I never remember photos!?! Really great to meet Sharon and always good to be with Carolb.

I did move out of the 'jungle' site they had me in to one more open. Really dislike being surrounded by messy trees.

Make it a great day and safe travels!!

The temperatures are not too bad this morning. I'm sure if I was doing any thing but sitting it would get uncomfortable. I looked out and Sissy was in the road so I went out and called her. That's about a far as I have ever seen her from the house. I sat on the steps and petted her for a while. She never has buddied up with any of the cats and she really likes attention.

I decided to go to town yesterday. Made it out of Walmart and to the car without getting too wet and then the bottom fell out. It was a storm with a lot of lightening. I should have waited it out but headed for home. The farther I went the worse it got. We got a little over 2 inches of rain in about an hour. Lightening struck one of the TV stations in Lafayette and all they could show was 30 minutes of the weather on the 6:00 news. They were back on for 10:00.

I couldn't get a hair appointment until tomorrow. I need to go renew my drivers license and didn't want a picture with bad hair.

Has anyone ever heard of tuna pies. I was reading a blog and she was talking about ordering tuna pies. I need to go see where they are. I would have ask about them but there were too many steps to comment.

When I was a kid, Swanson used to sell frozen tuna pies (like the beef and chicken pot pies they still sell). I loved those but they stopped selling them many years ago.

I have today and tomorrow off. Tomorrow is my first therapy session. I hope I like this lady. I have been feeling increasingly depressed lately and now am having anxiety attacks. I am thinking of going back full time to work since that is the only place I feel better emotionally. I hate being home now. For awhile, I just wanted to sleep all the time, now I just can't sit still and feel very restless and agitated.

Gonna be another warm sunny day and then rain the rest of the week.

Never heard of it.
Just Googled it...sounds like a tuna noodle casserole (one of my faves), except instead of noodles, you use canned crescent rolls.
Sounds good.
And I will try it.
Hey, a good DO recipe!! :D

I looked up the blog and they are from British Columbia. The tuna pies they were ordering were frozen and from a company near Vancouver. Around here there are companies that sell crawfish pies. They are like a crawfish étouffée in some kind of pie shell. There was a lady in Abbeville that made the best crawfish pies years ago. We always had to take an ice chest full to friends in Texas. When she died her daughter took over and her pies were ok but not as good as her mother's. Now it has passed down to her granddaughter and they are not good. The price has doubled and the quality is half. :x The pies we like the best now are frozen in puff pastry. Mitch, the next time you come through I'll get you some and you can figure out how they make them. lol

Deal. The only crawfish we have around here, though, are in the ditches in these little mud towers...so, nuttin' to practice on! :)
