House closing Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

House closing Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Jun 09, 2016 5:31 am

Good Morning ladies,

Thanks for all the comments about missing me on the forum if I disappeared from here. So nice to feel wanted :D And no CArol, I don't have a new phone number, still the same one. But I think you are looking for an excuse to come north anyway  And I'm sure Sarah would be right behind as we know her penchant for finding people.

Well today's the day. Closings on both days, so by late morning, all will be said and done. New house will be vacated on Monday, so in meantime I will be doing some final things around here. Have carpets being cleaned next Tuesday and cable tech coming out Wed. In between I will be moving some things myself and putting away stuff. Also erecting dog fence. My buyers are in no hurry to move in, as they have to wait for my heir stuff to be shipped from TX. Once I'm moved, then I can start thinking of RV time :D

So that's about it for today. Going to finish painting that table and start working on fence gate. Looks like a warm weekend coming up. So might not be doing a whole lot.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning all- it is pouring in Mpls this a.m. but supposed to clear and be warm. We needed a little rain, so this should do the trick.
Sue - CONGRATULATIONS closing day, how exciting. I am sure you will be happy to get into the new place and start making it a home.
My daughter and grandkids leaving for a weekend of camping tomorrow with my trailer, so hope all goes well. Told her if she scratches it, she buys it

Hope everyone has a great day, safe travel to those on the road.

Gmorning Sue & all to follow :)

What an exciting day for you Sue! Getting that fence built is definitely a priority, poopers will be happy:)

Anita, thanks for sharing about PattyK. I have a fb account but never use it. I guess I should? I'm starting to feel selfish for not using it & expecting to keep in touch with people personally? I mean, I know I'm not that "important" for anyone to take the time to repeat what they've posted on fb  So I do appreciate when any of you share info :)

All survived the nasty weather down south? Martha? Has your grandson arrived? Alice, are you keeping cool in Superior? Barb, a bit late, but such a beautiful pic of you & your daughter:)

Have been able to keep up with mowing between rainstorms. Cool & windy here today, but will be able to get out & mow again. OSharon, did you get your goats yet ;) BTW, she & I are planning a 2-day gtg next week! Meeting at Allegheny NP, if anyone is in the area, join us??

Well, have been cleaning/purging house during this rainy, cool weather, so will get to again today.

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-) (Gypsyrose, you got in before me. Hope your TT comes back unscathed!)

Exciting day, Sue! I'll want stories, naturally. ;)

Today is Son #1's first author talk and book signing, too. I'm excited for him. Bet it won't be as fun as mine, though -- he does serious subjects.

I get to go buy new tags for the van today. So much excitement!

Good morning everyone... have fun moving Sue... well I'm getting ready to take off for Mount Dora area meeting Margie whatever pups come along with her going to be a fun weekend... yesterday I had to take Pheebe to get her rabies shot and nails clipped if possible... it was an ordeal she would not let them near her they tried to put on a muzzle that wouldn't work I could hardly keep hold of her she's so Wiley and Wiggly in like slippery butter he gets like this anyway wrap her in a blanket and they tried to put the muzzle on again I said give me the muzzlle so I let her sniff it and smell it I slipped it over her nose and they clamped it shut that subdued her he examined her with no problems to give her a shot they took her off to clip nails no problem but she was not happy and I had given her Benadryl before we went to help calm her down.... I thought it was going to change her flea medicine because I didn't think it was working because she scratches so much he checked her for fleas and said he did she didn't have any and he feels with her sneezing so much and scratching she has allergies so we're going to try the Benadryl or Zyrtec for a while and see if that helps her scratching he said she was really healthy otherwise she's only gain one half pound since December I don't know if that's good or not I'm surprised she did that because she is just constantly in motion burning up those calories... well that's my story so that's it have a good day everybody &B safe....donna

Good Morning, Sue such an exciting day!! Hope all goes well and the move is easy as a move can be.

Donna, what are you feeding Pheebe? That could be the source of the itching. Some dogs do better on lamb based and others on chicken or another protein. You want to read the label to be sure that it doesn't have 'By Products' in the ingredients or BHT. Let me know and I can try and help. Itchy dogs with ear/ skin infections is what led me to eating better. Once I changed their diet their health improved dramatically and the vet bills went down enough to cover the cost of the different food. Also the vet can give you a pill to give to her before your appointment, that or they have a shot that will relax her and then another to reverse it so she is only out for a bit. No need for all the trauma to her and you. But be sure you let them know if you have given her anything before you bring her in like a Benadryl.

Going to be a rather busy day. Supervising the cute guy here cutting back the vegetation at the back of the yard to clear the way for the tree man. Yet another one has to be taken down, it is huge but rotten in the center. :( He is a real treasure as he works hard and does a great job. It is so hard to find people willing and capable of helping with chores. I have a massage at eleven :D and then home to wait for the guy from Frontier who will probably tell me again that they are wrong at the office, he cannot give me a higher speed due to their structure.

Morning, everyone!!

Donna - our border collies had skin issues until we switched them off of corn based food to lamb. Helped quite a bit.

Sue - have fun closings, you are the busiest retired person I know!

havingfunnow - very cool about your son, what is his subject??

My little bit of news... we are planning a trip home to Illinois in late July, I'm so excited!! Visit friends, eat good food, see my doc, and look at a condo we might buy!!!

Got woken up at 4am by my weather radio saying there was a severe thunderstorm just west of me with torrential rains, 60 mph winds and 2" hail. I jumped out of bed (not easy to do after taking a Xanax before I went to bed) and thru on some shorts and headed for the beach to move my kayak. I got my kayak leaned up against the concrete retaining wall and then decided to move two other kayaks and a canoe that were on the beach. I must have looked like a drunken zombie out there, very unsteady on me feet and half asleep! But got all of them against the wall and safe. The storm rolled in but all we got was the heavy rain and lightning, no wind or hail luckily.

Sleeping in this morning. Have the day off with no plans. Need to do some laundry and clean up in here but otherwise nothing much else. Getting warm and humid out now for the weekend. I should go thru my camping stuff in the garage and get that organized. My camping trip is in two weeks and will be coming up fast.

Sue, your hand will be very sore tonight after signing a million papers with two closings today!! But what a relief and then the fun of moving into your new home!

Hope you all have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning! Just barely morning but still morning! Sunny so far today so instead of goats I think I can get to the yard later with the mower! Like Carolb getting it done between raindrops! Sue, exciting day for you! Boy, I can only hope that when I'm ready to sell it goes fairly easy! So Mickie, sounds like you have made the decision to move back north. Maybe an RV in your future to winter in FL?

Been a busy few days. had the 2 of the GS's Tuesday afternoon, went to lunch with them then back to their house for the rest of the day until their mother picked them up. Lunch yesterday with a friend to get caught up with each other, then went for a mani/pedi and that took up the rest of the afternoon. They were really busy for a Wednesday afternoon so took a bit longer then normal. Today is a stay home day and get some stuff done around here!

Looking forward to getting away for a few days next week. At this point I don't even care if it rains! I'll put the raincoats on the pups and hope for the best! And attempt to dry them off the best I can!

Time to get moving, hopefully the yard is drying out enough to get busy in so need to get to it before the weather changes again! Take care if you are on the road and have a good day.

We're not sure when we'll go, we may stick it out here another year or so if I can breathe, but we'll head home after that and sell the FL place. The cost of health insurance if we stay here after retirement would bankrupt us, so better to start planning for the inevitable.

We're definitely talking about an RV once we're home so we can escape winter now and then.

Frosty is digging around on my desk. He found out there are rubber bands on here and he likes to play with them. He is going to have to go if he turns my computer off.

I have a problem with earrings making my ears sore. I had ordered some gold ones and even those bother me. I had tried to find some of the ones they use to pierce your ears with because I had some one time that I could wear. Yesterday I thought about looking for them online and found some on Amazon. I hope I can wear them. I have looked every where for the one I lost that I liked so much.

Carolb, good luck with your cleaning/purging. Yesterday Harold wanted a cage I had at the barn moved so I had to move some things in the old house so I could put it in there. I really need to purge some more stuff out of there. It didn't take long and sweat was running in my eyes and I couldn't see. Trash is picked up tomorrow so I am going to try to finish filling up the trash can. I should have started that when it was cold. My grandson will be here on the 22nd. I am going to try to go to the lake for a few days before he gets here. He doesn't want to go camping or fishing.

Donna, glad you and Pheebe survived the vet visit. My son's dog puts the brakes on at the door and then tries to get under a chair. He almost pulled out of his collar so now he has a harness. At least he's not mean. He is mostly german shepard but a big chicken. My cats are usually so scared that they don't move at the vets. The vet can give them medicine a lot easier than we can. Wish I was close enough to GTG with you and Margie. I like to go to the lake with my sister but it's 5 hours from here.

Gypsyrose, you are brave to let you family take your trailer. I don't like for my son to drive my motorhome when I'm in it. There are so many systems in an RV that most people don't have a clue how to operate.
