Turnabout Tuesday

Morning,

How's that for a catchy morning title. That's the case here today. Turnabout time on the houses. You know I love to keep you in suspense  I lost out on my neighbors house as the people who are the original buyers now have the funds to go ahead and buy it whether or not their house downstate is sold. So, I'm going back to the lake house and this time submitting and offer for keeps. The owners have totally replaced the roof, had the issues with chimney and broken PVC vent pipe fixed, so that's done and half the list of major issues my inspector turned up. Don't know what else has been done, my agent is going to talk to the listing agent and see what's done and if they have anything else lined up. I'm willing to work with them. Some of the small stuff is no big deal as I have planned to get an electrician over there anyway to do a few things for me, so can have some of that other stuff addressed then. So looks like I am going to be living on the lake. Neighbor across the road came over last night to see what my situation was as far as moving and I told him about the inspection, my making and losing the offer on my neighbors and showed him the inspection report. He feels that I would be better off with the lake house as it has attached garage etc. etc. and I know that he will help fix some of the things i would like to do over there too. He did bring up some good points as did Tina. Thanks Tina.

So this morning am waiting for the electrician to come and fix some issues in my electrical box that the inspector said should be addressed. Then will be all done with that stuff and just working on packing and getting ready to move out. My closing date is two weeks from today and I will have 21 days to move out. I'm about 3/4 packed now, want to keep ahead of the game here. And there's the yard to keep after too. Plus nothing else to do anyway

Peggy, good to see you post yesterday and glad to hear all is well in your world at the moment. I'm picking my trailer up from dealer today, now that it's ready to go for the summer. Cancelled two camping reservations I had for June and July and then made another for July in a different park. The one I was going to go to in June. Will clean trailer inside and get it ready for season eventually. Mosquito's will be pesky out there, so am in no hurry. Did get my picnic table stained yesterday though and surprisingly they didn't bother me much at all. Maybe the smell of the stain drove them off. Hmmmm, maybe keeping an open can of stain on picnic table when eating might be a good deterrent

Barb, did Linda ever meet up with you? Haven't seen her on here for quite awhile and wondered if she has started her workamping job yet.

Okay, this should be enough to keep you in suspense for another day. Hope you all have a good one and don't get into anything complicated.

Good Morning from Colorado!

Sue, what a merry-go-round! Looks like a good time at the GTG! Cheryl, I find campsite numbering confusing at times as well. I was so confused by a set up in one place that I backed into a pull thru!!

It was so nice to be at my grandson's graduation. I sure miss the little boy tho. The class was only 47 grads. I walked into the gymnasium and figured I'd never spot my daughter and the family. Climbed up the bleachers and started into a row. Someone said 'hi'. I hadn't noticed my family and my son-in-law's family sitting in the next row up!! Daughter had texted me where they were, but I had turned my phone off!

I drove to the Denver area yesterday and got to the trailer manufacturer about 3. The man that warmly greeted me I learned, thanks to Google, is the owner of the company that actually makes the trailers. Sounds like my unhappiness is well known around here. The tech was about to leave for the day, but he and I had a conversation. They have learned some better construction methods apparently, and he is planning to do a lot of rebuilding. I think their knowing that I will be attending SS rallies where they will be a vendor has helped. He plans to be finished by this afternoon so we'll see how this turns out. Maybe my anxiety level can drop a bit.

I'm going to have a lazy day while I sit here and wait!

Make it a great day and safe travels!

Good morning, everyone. Just checking in. I read every day but not writing these days. Prayers to everyone who is on the down side of the rollercoaster. Celebrations with everyone on the up. Nice to hear from familiar but recently absent sistahs.

White light and fuzzy slippers to all.

Nikki

I know it's late, but been dealing with computer issues. I had planned to do some grading this morning, but ended up working to solve them all. I have students going to be online tomorrow afternoon to give presentations, but of course, I could not get access to the program, which caused panic. I think problem was an automatic download that changed things. I know it changed my browser and it took me an hour to put it back the way I want it. I have since gone in and turned off automatic update downloads. I swear they cause nothing but problems!!!!!

Resting from yesterday walking all over Santa Fe. If you ever plan to go, check with me about parking because it is a pain. Ended up parking in dirt lot at botanical gardens and taking shuttle. Except shuttle is not called the shuttle--sign had a cute pick up truck and says "Santa Fe Pick-Up" with no other information! Some clever marketing person got carried away. I was told info was on the shuttle itself--duh, like you need to get on the shuttle to figure out how the shuttle works and that it really is not a pickup truck??? I complained to visitor center and am going to call Chamber of Commerce to complain today. I just can't handle all this walking when you don't have to walk, especially at 7,000 feet.

Beautiful weather here in Cochiti Lake. I highly recommend this gorgeous and clean place for only $10 per night for us seniors!

And, Sue, I am glad things are finally working out for you and that you are getting the lake house. A garage really is critical in Michigan and you would have had to build one at other place.

Am on a split shift today, so am home for the afternoon. Beautiful day, low 80's, sunny and a bit humid. More storms tho, on the way for the rest of the week.

Sue, Linda and I were not able to get together because of my work schedule last week. She has started her new job in WI but sounds like she is not real happy with it. She told me not to make any plans to visit her yet...

Am trying out my new Chromebook today. I like how small and lightweight it is! And fast! So far, so good!

I ordered a cot and memory foam mattress for my camping trip. Think I will be more comfortable up off the ground. The cot has one end that can be elevated so I can sit up and read before going to sleep. Still need to waterproof my tent yet. Maybe next weekend if it is nice out. Have 4 weeks before I go camping, so plenty of time yet.

Have a good day! :D

Good Morning All, Wow! Sue, the lake house! What an excellent turnabout! How are you staying calm though all this "activity"? I don't know what else to call what is going on with you!

And, I too did not know that Linda was heading back to SD to work with you Beth!!! Plans are changing with lots of us.

I am still scheduled to go to Rock Creek in August. My daughter decided not to camp next to me so got herself a condo in Mammoth! I am an old tent camper, so being kinda "roughing it" does not bother me. She likes her what I consider luxuries.

Our, San Diego temperatures today are High 67, Low 62. We are having some inspections done on our water pipes in the kitchen ceiling. Causes the dogs to be upset with the strangers in the house. Our homeowners are suing the construction company on some of the original construction. This is quite common on these big high rises built in the downtown area.

I like "fuzzy slippers"....lyn
