Mild Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Mild Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 07, 2016 6:58 am

Mild morning here in northern Michigan, although some of you would call 43 degrees cold. But this time of year, after being in below freezing temps at night for the past 5 months or so, it feels warm. And the snowpack is melting :D Showers in forecast this week as well as mid to upper 50's.

Just had an Adkins bar and some strawberries for breakfast. But I have eggs, bacon, sausage and bread here too. So you can have whatever you like.

Took the fur kids to visit some friends yesterday. Miss Piper needs to be around other people to outgrow her shyness more. She did really well and made herself at home before long. So today is off to bank to pad wallet and then some shopping to restock a bit.

Y'all have a nice day today.

Good Morning Sue and Everyone !! At 7 this morning Sue radio said it was 49 here, I'm in south Florida !! :o I don't mind it at all, I'm hoping the hot weather doesn't get in here until I can leave, which due to last minute dr visits will be after first week of April, so I will really be pushing it this winter.

I will be staying at my DD's through this week, I guess. Have a sick little boy home with gran'ma this morning, he is sleeping now, sure hope he wakes up feeling better. Quite a few years since I have had sick little ones.

My DD is having her house painted, they of course are taking their time. Also dropping cigarettes all over the place which has her livid. So I get to tell them to dispose of them and not in her yard. That I don't mind as I did that all through the years at our place and have experience at phrasing those suggestions really good, to people with attitudes even  :D She is getting into her Spring cleaning here, so next week end we will try to get it nearer to being finished before I have to leave. She has a huge house. Might as well make myself useful to someone, right ??? :)

Well on to the day here, there are some things I know how to do while she isn't here, like some more laundry, we did loads of it yesterday, bedding etc. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day outside, I might set out by the pool later on and read on my book.

Hope you all have a great day, stay safe and keep on thinking of road trips, that time is sure getting close for many,

Good Monday morning all. We're on an upward swing with temps this week! Yippee! I know it's still March and we can have some more snow but I'd rather not go there! I walked around the yard yesterday and I have lots of cleanup to do out there. There's still leaves and those pesky seed pods from the trees, for some reason they were really plentiful last fall and into the winter. It's still pretty wet so may not be able to do much for a few days! But just to get outside and not be bundled up in a heavy coat will be heaven! I had a quiet week end and didn't do much. I had lots to do but just couldn't get into anything. Guess I'll need to make up for it the next few days! One thing I need to do is take the car through the automatic car wash so I can get some of the chemicals off the undercarriage. Me and everyone else in town!

JudyJB, hope you are feeling better. Don't overdo it! Catherine, sounds like you're enjoying not having to deal with the snow! Easy to get used to! I was glad to hear that Carolb was heading for DV, she had mentioned it when I last heard from her. Hope she gets to see the flowers blooming! CArol, was sorry to hear about your friend. We just never know when something can happen. Hope she's getting better.

Well, guesss I should get a move on and start taking advantage of the nice day! Lots to do! Hope you all have a good day and if you are on the road, be safe!

Way past morning now
What a difference a few hours makes. That icy 25mph wind yesterday is gone and sun is busy with raising temps today back into the mid 70s. No plans for today.

I do need to try a little harder to get my step count up a bit and remember to drink more water. After 2nd short walk, had to come back and close up Magic; A?C running to see if it will get some of the pollen out of air Nicky and I are both sneezing again. Got Fitbit on charger so will try walking a bit later in the day.

Lost a major filling last night. Tooth doesn't hurt yet but will need to be very careful about what I try to chew so I don't break any more of the tooth away. If it was going to happen anyway, sure would have been nice if it fell out before I went grocery shopping the other day.

Hope you are enjoying your afternoon.

A little cooler here in Tucson today, which is nice. Still have a little cough and a bit of a sore throat, but I was able to have enough energy yesterday to clean out one bin and wipe down parts of my RV with a damp cloth and then wash windows, so I must be getting better.

I moved out of Catalina SP and moved to Gilbert Ray, which is a county campground with just electric, but price is only $20 per night and there is a water fill area and dump station, plus it is very pretty here, so I will stay five days, I think. Good Verizon service, as well.

As I set up, I just happened to look at one tire and noticed a small slit---darn!! Nothing is poking out and it is on a dually, so I am assuming it is drivable to a tire store. Called one and they have a tire and can jack up my vehicle, so will head out there tomorrow. Not only do I not want to spend an extra $250 on a tire now, but I had hoped to not have to drive for a few days, so I am not happy. I suppose it could have been another sidewall blowout, so I guess it could have been worse. I will have them inspect all tires and check pressures when I am there.

In meantime, RV is clean inside and out, so I need to just sit back and relax some more, as if that is not all I have been doing for past week. It is end of the semester, so at least I have work to do to keep me busy.

It's a little late for morning coffee but I had a big cup at 4:00. Peggy got here Sunday morning so she and I headed out this morning. She wanted to eat some oysters so we went to Shucks for lunch. I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon and when I got through with that we met Carolyn for dessert and coffee. We had a big visit. A couple of pictures were taken so one might show up on the GTG thread. It was dark when we came home but I drove by Betty's so she could see where it is. Betty has a crowd packed in there tonight. Peggy is heading out in the morning to get ahead of the rain that is coming.
