Very Busy Tuesday!

Good Morning,

This a very busy day today. Lots of things going on. It's Super Tuesday for voters in 12 states, the 1st day of the month which is also RABBITS day. That's the day Cheryl (IrishIroamed) suggested everybody check in and at least say hi if nothing else so we know you are still with us and doing okay. Let's see how many posts we get today ;) It's also the end of the Meteorological winter, which means we are now through the 3 coldest months of the winter (December, January, February) and it's all up hill from here.

Sure was nice hearing from so many of you yesterday. Carolb, you certainly are having fun out there, Liz on a beautiful hike, Ava, love the dress and you certainly do have a keeper. Bright future ahead. Peggy, sounds like you are slowly working your way home. Don't remember what all else is going on.

Heading to town this morning for some grocery shopping etc and stop by bank. Snow creeping up a little from the storm passing to the south. Birds busy at the feder, girls just came in from outside. Piper hauling a boot in here from my breezeway, hahaha. So all's well in my world. Hope the same for you. Have a nice day.

RABBITS (rollcall :D )

I remembered RABBITS. Helps that a bunny was running in the yard when I let the pooches out. Dang that Punkin is quick. I think he actually got a mouthful of fur and would have actually caught the bunny if I didn't have him on my 20 longe line.

Looks like the Punk's ear infection is gone (yippee!) and vet said to just keep an eye on Zorro for now. It may have been a minor neurological event, but he seems back to his 14 year old self, but will start him on some glucosamine / condroitin (those spelled right?) to help with his arthritis.

For any newbies wondering what RABBITS mean, I found the original post.

Not much else happening. Have a good day everyone & stay safe on the roads.

I'm checking in here from MN. Cold and cloudy today but supposed to warm back up around 60 by the weekend and stay warm for awhile. The lake ice is melting quite quickly already so we may be in for a record early ice-out this year. Average ice-out is April 13th.

Nothing else going on here, just heading off to work shortly. Will be doing the caucus thing tonight.

Have a good day! :D

Good morning all! A beautiful first of March here! It's going to be nice today and then the bottom falls out for a few days. But at least whatever we get won't stick around for long! But as Sue said the coldest months are behind us. March is a changeable month. Never know what will happen! But I did contact my RV guy last night to figure out a date to have him come dewinterize and do a couple of things to Lola. Waiting on my chiropractor to get back to me on a date that works for her so he can do both of us on the same day.

Cheryl, thanks for the link back to the rabbits tradition. Finally got it! But as usual, I forgot to say it! Was good to hear from Carolb, having a good time in CA. And Liz, again, thanks for taking us along for your hike. Sandi, Bindi (love her name) sounds like she's fitting into your family. She's so cute. And Ava, love the new dress, so pretty.

Got an appointment for Mr D. yesterday afternoon and vet thinks he has some arthritis in his back that's affecting him. She took some blood to make sure there isn't anything else happening. Won't get the results until today or tomorrow. We talked about the strange behavior and she said dogs can get dementia type symptoms when they get older. May be or may just be from pain. I hate to give him meds but decided to try it to see if it makes a difference and that he can be more comfortable.

Not much happening today. I need to get ready for the termite inspection guy to come sometime between 10 and 1 today. They wanted to come between 8 and 1 and I just told her I might be up then! Might be up but certainly not ready! I just finished my coffee so better go get ready. I finally have started to set appointments later in the day. Habit for early came from years with DH! I'm slowly starting to realize I don"t have to be early and can do it later which is more me. Old habits die hard, I guess! Anyway, hope you all have a good day and travel safe. Enjoy your day wherever you are.

Morning all, Rabbits checking in from Wisconsin. The "big" snowstorm predicted for here was a non-starter: less than an inch on the ground and supposed to go till noon but done already. Not that I mind...
Plumber coming today to finish installing laundry tub, rug cleaners picking up big living room rug today for cleaning. Thursday floor refinishers start. Hoping to have this joint listed in March. Lots of fabric in attic sewing room and junk in basement to go through first. We just keep plugging away.
Safe travels for those on the road, and peace to all the rest of us.
Eileen

I forgot Rabbits.

Ava, that's a very pretty dress. I can't remember the last time I had a dress on. Probably the last time I was going to a wedding and I was trying to figure out what to wear.

I think I need to try taking glucosamine. I tried walking on the tread mill a few days ago and it hurt my knees. Yesterday I walked on the road and today it's my hip hurting. I hurt my hip years ago when I stepped in a hole. It doesn't take much to make it start hurting again. I sure don't want to have surgery.

I haven't seen a rabbit around here since the flood and I have never seen one of the cats catch one. I see a squirrel across the road sometimes but the cats keep them from setting up house in the yard. The cats have delusions of catching one sometimes but they can't climb as fast as squirrels.

We didn't get any rain yesterday but I think there is a chance of rain today. One of the local TV stations says it is going to cool off after the front but the weather channel says 70's for the rest of the week.

I hope I can remember to look at rose bushes when I go to town. I need to replace a couple of plants and last year I waited too long to find a good rose bush.

Sharon, I make appointments later too. If I let Harold make one we are going in the dark. Our insurance company called to set up an appointment for a review. I know what they are up to. They make the agents do this every year so they can try to sell you annuities. Fat chance. If they want to waste their time I have a lot of time. lol The doctor's office I called yesterday wanted me to fill out a form on their web site and request an appointment online. I never heard back from them. That really ticks me off when I carry my phone around all day and don't get a call.

Good morning.
I remembered to say rabbits for a change.
Nice site here at Wickham on the outer edge of park.
Image
Area B of the campground has a very large rabbit population. Been so busy watching them play I forgot to get camera out. They boldly hop around early morning and late evening. So far Nicky has missed them and the raccoon who comes by to check out the recycle bins at night.
Weatherman has promised a warm sunny afternoon, actually most of this week looks great.
Yesterday was a very bad allergy day, spent most of it sneezing. Poor Nicky barely got walked. Thankfully I've only had a few days that bad since I arrived in FL. Additional meds starting to kick in and feeling better today.
No real plans until Friday. Donna will pick me up then and we are going to check out some thrift shops and antique stores plus a little sight seeing and grocery shopping.

Happy March everyone. Still stunned that two months of this year are gone already.

I relate to later appts. I'm still laying in bed, gradually waking up since it's not a work day. Yesterday wasn't either, but I ended up caring around the phone for three late check-ins, who finally arrived about 10.

Weather in this part of Arizona is about 10 degrees above normal for highs right now. Next week we might revert to normal. But meantime I'm looking forward to Linda and her daughter coming by this week. I need to go check when I can get them a scheduled hb ride. Unfortunately I'll be working so can't go with, but she plans to overnight here, so we'll have time to chat :-)

Less than three weeks and I'll be on the road again myself! First stop will be the RV dealers for a issue and now, also a potential warranty issue. Need to call them today and make sure they mark down time for that.

Slowly feeling a little better, which makes me happy, but diaphragm is still really sore from all the coughing. Hope I just pulled a muscle and did not tear anything.

AM behind grading papers, and then discovered that someone had changed the assignment instructions and grading rubric (specifications for writing paper on which you base grade) in my online class when I was not looking. Apparently, the communication department is working with the management department, and they all want to make some changes for next semester, but you can't assign something and then after students are almost finished or have submitted papers, change everything!! Plus, the system would not allow me to grade based on the things I had beat into student's heads that they had to do for this paper. So I had to stop what I was doing and get into multiple email conversations, which means I wasted at least 4 hours on all of this. Finally got word from chair to just go back to what I had been doing for now, but this meant going back into the grading function and changing everything back, which is not as simple as it might seem. And this took another hour this morning.

So now that everything is "fixed" I can go back to doing what I was doing before I wasted all this time!! :x It would have been nice if someone talked to me before they did all this!!! That does not happen very often at this college, which is good. There are several of us teaching the same required course, so we try to be consistent in approach and grading. As a department of about 8 people, we had all decided on assignment requirements 18 months ago, which is what I was following. I hope not too many students noticed the changes, but it is now back to normal, at least. They will think we are nuts. Whew.

OK, I am going to get back to work and try to calm down and rest for the rest of the day.

Oh, and yesterday, I had a student who gave a presentation online to me and her classmates through a Skype-type program, point out an experience she had dealing with her older boss, and how it was hard to work for someone older because "older" workers were too set in their ways and not able to adjust to technology or changes! Duh! She has seen my photo online, so does she not know she has an older instructor??? Several years ago, I had a student tell me and her classmates in another presentation that there was no use in training older workers because they could not learn anything new! And this was while she was standing in front of me.

Judy, there is book sense and then there is people sense......As my friend who still is teaching Family and Consumer Science (Updated Name for: Home Ec Educator... :) ) says there are the "hard" skills and then there are the "soft" skills. Over the years. I have been amazed at the positions some folks can work themselves into without that common sense thing.

What I want to know is, are you able to use those as teachable moments? :)

Checking in. Remembered to say Rabbits shortly after midnight! We had a little snow last night and it's 60 degrees colder than it was on Saturday! No wonder everyone gets sick. Bronc is two today! Mommy has to work late so I get to pick him up at daycare and we're going to go have a treat! A sundae for supper on your birthday is totally acceptable according to this gramma.

Checking in. Still sick so staying quiet and sleeping a lot. Had to go out this morning, but otherwise it's low and slow around here. Poor Olive hasn't been for a walk for so long she probably thinks the world ends at the fence around the yard. Best to everyone.
