Leap Day!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Leap Day!

Postby Colliemom » Mon Feb 29, 2016 8:46 am

Morning all,

Extra day this year. So what's everybody going to do with theirs? Basically, I can't see it any different than any other year. Just another day to do whatever I am doing or want to do . Great for those whose birthdays fall on this day. Piper turned 7 months today otherwise it would be tomorrow on March 1st as she was born on July 29th.

JudyJB, sure hope you get your coughing and such under control so you can get your life back to some semblance of normal. Pat, can't believe Bronc is two already. He certainly is a cute little guy. Cheryl, sorry to hear about issues with Zorro. Let's hope it has passed over and he will do fine for what time he has left on this earth. Tough when our fur kids get older. Was thinking yesterday that Molly will be two in the fall already and seems like it was just yesterday that I bought that little fur ball home. Coosa, are you still RV hunting? Last I read, you had another show lined up for this past weekend.

Think today will be getting started on spring cleaning. Have some things coming up in March so will have some days when I will be off to town etc., no time for working in house. Winter Weather Advisory in effect here for later this morning anyway, so am staying home. No big deal just about an inch to three maybe, but winds are expected to really kick up. No fun driivng in that. Will wait till tomorrow to go to town and shop.

Need to do a little bookwork ths morning, so best get at it. By the way, have you heard about the big rock slide on I-75 near KY/TN border. Highway is closed in both directions till at least March 21st. Detours are in place which means added travel time. Right at spring break time too.

Okay ya all have a nice day out there.

Gmorning Sue & all to follow:)

Yep, an extra day & a Monday to boot...Good time for me to catch up here & let y'all know I'm alive & well. Guess I've been having too much fun! Had a great 3-4 days this past week/weekend with Lyn & Catherine! All three pups & I got Lyn's special tour of the SD area, then she & her daughter had me at their condo for dinner, again pups included. Must say pups & I thoroughly enjoyed such high-class stuff LOL Thanks Lyn!....Then Catherine & Sadie joined us in her "big van," & she even boondocked with me for the night--Fiesta Island, actually "illegal" camping   I'll see here again later this week when I head north up the CA coast. I'm loving this life, but it wouldn't be nearly as wonderful if I didn't have all my forum family :D

JudyJB, hope you're feeling better soon. Pat, good to see you here, & happy 2nd bday to Bronc. Tending to grandkids in retirement sounds pretty exciting to me:) Anita, I'm really missing you this trip :( So your cousin was trying to tell you you're "too old" for your slingshot? Alice honey, things going great with you new honey?!

Finalizing Death Valley plans for later next week. Will see Patty, but unfortunately Sandi's schedule didn't work for meeting me there....anyone else in the area want to join me???

Rambling....Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good morning. It's a wet morning but temps are holding in the 40's! I would rather get the rain then snow! My goodness, Sue, hard to believe it's been 2 years since you got Molly! I'm beginning to worry about my old guy, he's been acting off the last few days. Nothing I can put my finger on but he's really slowed down. I will call the vet today to get him in to be checked out. He's 12 now so I guess slowing down is expected but something isn't right.

Judy, hope you are feeling better this morning. Sounds like when you get sick you really get sick! I've been lucky this winter and haven't had much more then annoying allergies! Probably shouldn't say that, that'll be about the time I get something! Liz, I enjoyed your hike to the Falls. Thanks for taking us along!

I managed to get out yesterday and enjoyed the nice sunshine. The boys and I took a little walk but where I went turned out to be a bit muddy so had to clean paws before we got back in the car! But it was nice to get out. I need to run to the grocery store today and just got a call that my taxes are done so guess I'll go pick them up too. Glad to get that out of the way. Don't know what the damage is but guess it will be whatever it is! A refund would be nice! Well, guess I'd better get to it and get this extra day started! Be well and travel safe. (Carolb, you jumped in before I got this posted! Sounds like a great time you're having!)

Sue, Piper and I have the same birthday. Quite a few years apart. lol

It's nice weather this morning and going back into the 70's. I think we might have showers this afternoon. I didn't look at the radar so don't know where they are coming from.

Yesterday I went to a crawfish boil at a friend's house. It was just family and me. Her niece was there with her two small boys. Two hours with the niece yelling at her kids was not pleasant. After she left my friend said she just wears her out. I felt the same way. I can see why she has been divorced twice. Being around her everyday would be hard.

I am trying to make an appointment with a gastroenterologist for my son. Every time I talk to him he is sick but won't go to the doctor. I'm sure a doctor's office is impressed that a 36 year old has to have his mother make appointments for him.

Stinky aggravated me so much that I let her go outside. She kept running around knocking things off my desk and trying to climb the shelves.

Don't know what I will do today but we are out of bread so will probably have to go to the store.

Good morning.
I moved yesterday to a park near Melbourn. Good to have cell service back after going 2 weeks without phone. Quite a few rigs have pulled out this morning; guess some of the snowbirds are beginning to start home.
Big warming trend has started in FL, mid 70s today and no really cold nights forecast for remainder of week. Pattern into more of what I like.
Just chilling today. Hope to get a nice long hot shower after it warms up a little more. Need to wash hair and maybe dry it in the sun.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Martha, that is what I live with almost 24/7 around here with Sophie! She does have her "down time" when she is really sweet and loving, but the constant craziness drives me crazy! And I can't let her outside to run it off. (she must know what I am typing because she just crawled up in my lap purring!). I actually got in some snuggle time with Lola this morning which is very rare. She is a "don't mess with me" kitty, but sometimes she will come up on the bed and actually let me pet her and rub her belly for a bit, but only at arms length. She must have had a bad kittenhood since she has always been like that since I got her at a shelter in California.

Carolb, so glad you got to meet Lyn. I wish I could have made it out there this winter but finances (or lack of) got in the way. Hopefully, next year! Believe it or not, when I lived there, I never actually spent any time in the city of San Diego. When I do get out there, I will have to have Lyn give me the grand tour! Fiesta Island would be a great spot to boondock! I love Mission Bay (did spend some time there)! I am still planning to move back out to SoCal eventually. Am looking at the Laguna Beach area possibly. Would love to go back to Santa Barbara but that is way out of my price range!

Sunny, but cold and very windy here today. :o Saturday was 60* and awesome! Sunday was cooler with rain and snow. Will be warming back up later in the week. It is still winter yet...

Hope you all have a great day! :D

Good morning Everybody from just outside of Big Bend Nat'l Park. Here we have five bars; in the Cottonwoods Campground nada! What a beautiful park. We came for three days, but extended our visit for another three days. Not going to the Texas beaches because it's Spring Break time!
Martha and Carolyn, I will send you a pm when I get closer to LA.
Enjoy today,
Peggy

:D well good morning ladies, I know, its almost noon but it is still on the am side.
Had a wonderful weekend with the honey bear, took me shopping and bought me a dress and shoes to go with. Our
trip to texas is just around the corner and the planning stages are full swing. Met his son and sons wife Sunday. Very
nice couple. We also went looking at motorhomes, he picked one out for us and the three dogs, wondering now if it
will be sitting in the driveway next time I go up there.
Honestly, this man is a keeper, I'll see about getting some pictures of the two of us very soon. In the meantime, my
new dress.....

Glad you found a "keeper" Alice! You deserve one.

I am a little bit better this morning. I am able to cough without doubling up and gagging. I was able to get some sleep last night, even with getting up several times. Codeine cough syrup before bed helped. I have averaged maybe 2-3 hours sleep for the last week, so I really needed some. I seem to only get sick about once a year, so hopefully this is my time. And yes, when I get sick, I really do get very sick. Would you believe I had shingles when I was 7 years old and missed the last two months of 2nd grade?

I need to pack up partially and go dump my tanks this afternoon, and then will put my awning out. Picked a bad spot because sun is on refrigerator. Other than that, I will be sitting indoors and resting.

I baked a loaf of homemade bread last night, so dinner was an egg sandwich, which really tasted good to me. Had scrambled eggs and toast with my fresh bread for breakfast. Got to eat it before it goes stale because no preservatives. I learned to bake bread when I was 9, and my parents like to bake bread as well, so it really tastes good to me. No bread machines and mixes for me! It is really super easy if a 9 year old can do it!

Ava, that dress is really pretty and looks very comfortable! He has good taste! Glad you are so happy! Sounds like you have a good future with him! I have had dates with several guys over the past six months or so but nothing serious happening with any of them (on my part anyways).

Made sure I said "rabbits" right after midnight this morning but then after I woke up at 9am. I realized it wasn't the first until tomorrow. So will have to try again tonight right after midnight!

Minnesota has it's caucus tomorrow and I will be going to vote! One of the gals at work was talking to her client tonight about the election and who's running and who she is voting for. I really had to bite my tongue listening to that conversation!!

Good night! :D
