Wake up, its Saturday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wake up, its Saturday!

Good morning, everybody sleeping in?
Wake up, your missing out on a beautiful day! :D
Its been a bit of hectic week but not totally crazy.
Just a tad hard to deal with my substitute aide as
my regular one heals from a broken rib.
So,,,,,the agenda for the day, gonna get rid of a few
yellow hairs and maybe some white, and for the afternoon
Carolb and I are taking all the pups for a ride up to Canyon Lake
for a look see, hopefully dine at the famous burger bar at Tortilla flats
and what ever else suits our fancy to see. :D
Saving chores and laundry for another day, sometimes its fun just
to be lazy.
Kitty ran away, but she did that before too, came back the next day
after Carolb went to Q.
Nothing else to say except ,,,,4 more days and the official retirement
countdown begins. I am over the top in anticipation, and of course
my new friend :D
Y'all have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning Alice and all,

Alice, you are so bright and chipper this morning. Things are definitely well with your world. Substitute aide is a temporary bump in the road. I know you are counting the days now. Sun's not shining here. Mom Nature has a slight case of dandruff this morning. No big deal though. Maybe I should send some Head and Shoulders her way

The pups and I did sleep in a bit this morning, but they also had a couple of early morning outside jaunts too. And then the big play time one after we got up. Now sleeping away. Had interesting day at the vet yesterday. Miss Piper did very well. A bit nervous but never shied away from anybody. She got her check over and her rabies shot and is schedule for spaying next week. Miss Molly got her check over, a blood test and her shots as well. But in her case, two checks of the blood sample showed positive for Lyme's. So blood sample going to private lab for analysis. Once it's determined to be Lyme's and what stage it's in, then we can start the meds to eradicate it. That was a surprise as she's on flea/tick med. But vet said that there are many different types of ticks that those meds don't cover (Revolution and Sentinel), so suggested going with Frontline Plus as it covers a wide variety of ticks. So will be doing that along with Heartguard. So after paying two arms and a leg  out we walked. Then we had our big afternoon walk and Miss Piper actually went up to two people we met along the way. So guess the shyness must be wearing off. She's getting comfortable. And to top if off, she figured out that if she climbs up to the top of this old snow covered pond liner form I have leaning against my wood piled, she can actually jump my fence. Well, needless to say, the pond form is not longer against the woodpile,  Our snow here is about 2 feet deep, but is settled and hard packed which is something we usually don't get till late, winter early spring. Dogs are able to walk on it. Quite an adventurous day here yesterday.

Today will be quiet by comparison. Balance Checkbooks etc., clean my bathroom, and work on scrapbook. Have all my necessary reservations made for time being. So all set there. Decided that trip to PA is going on back burner for now. After doing some more studying on it, there is a lot to see if one wants to follow the Civil War and American Revolution out that way, even into VA. That's a big trip, so better taken when I am in mood for doing so. This year I seem to be content in MI, at least for now. If I got east, will be in fall. Would like to pad the trip fund over the summer.

Right now it's time to get moving here. Morning is slipping away. You all have a great day out there today.

Mornin' Alice, Sue and all that follow ~~~

How exciting Alice that the actual countdown clock is starting for your retirement! :D

How scary to find out about Molly having Lyme's Sue. Good to know too that Frontline is better since I just bought some last week for both puppers.

Finally at the 1/2 way point for Punkin's training. Pain in the arse, but gives some socialization time too. Being part herding dog, he is mesmerized by the Ferrets (maybe it's the smell too  ).

Had a random thought yesterday on the drive home while wondering how some of the ladies are doing (Nan, Claudia, Red, etc). I know lots of the ladies lurk and post intermittently, but would be nice to at least know they are well, so had the brilliant/stupid idea for the 1st of them month MC posts, we could call it RABBITS ROLLCALL. If someone doesn't' have time to give a 'where and how are they now' post because they're just having too much fun, they could just post RABBITS! Like Pat's signature says 'My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.'

Done babbling now. Have a good day ladies and stay safe on the roads.

Good Morning all, Sorry to hear Molly tested positive for Lyme. It sounds like Piper is doing well with becoming more social. She sounds as though she is also very clever.
Ava you sound so happy!! Hope you and Carolb have a great day.
Has anyone logged on to Photobucket lately. i did this morning and though I was on the wrong site. I also was shocked that it automatically brought yp every picture in my iPhoto file  I really don't like that so I just logged off to see if anyone else had that happen.
I took Mitzi in for a bath and haircut yesterday. She was so matted I just couldn't deal with it. She looks really cute but I like her hair longer so will need to be more diligent with my grooming. I asked them not to use any fragrance but she came home smelling of something they used. DH had to give her another bath this morning as I was itching from head to toe. Toby wouldn't even sleep on his bed last night after she finally gave it up to him. So, besides her getting a bath, I am now in the process of washing all the dog beds of which there are eight! I have them in several places since we have all hardwood floors. Of course most of the day they prefer the bare floor.
Cheryl I think you have a good idea for a Rabbits day!

We don't have sun here. There is rain along the Texas/Louisiana line but we are only suppose to get scattered showers. It's going to be a cold day for the parades. I need to go to the store so will see if I can get gathered up before the rain gets here. I woke up cold about 5:00 this morning and someone had put the thermostat on air conditioning. Harold says he didn't do it but I have my own ideas about that. When I put it on heat it took a long time to start up. I was thinking oh great, we will have to call someone and it's Saturday.

Harold's dog gets a shot every 6 months for heart worms. He was on Heartguard and he came up with a slight positive test a couple of years ago. The vet wanted to know if he swallowed the Heartguard whole which he probably did. For the next 6 months the vet gave him the shot and I cut up the Heartguard when I gave it to him. After that he has been clean. Now he only gets the shot every 6 months. I don't know how they treat Lyme disease in dogs but they think one of the antibiotics my sister was on caused the pancreatitis that put her in the hospital.

The Rabbits post is a good idea but I don't know that it will register with me that it's the first of the month. I'm doing good when I know what day of the week it is.

Remington tested positive for Lyme a year and a half ago and when he was retested last fall he was still positive. His blood tests didn't turn up any issues that indicated that the disease was effecting his systems so they recommended not treating with antibiotics unless he developed any symptoms. They said that sometimes they will revert to negative and other dogs will remain testing positive the rest of their lives. So far no symptoms have shown up..... :)

Ok. Going to see if I can post yet. It's been frustrating responding and posts are not accepted. But I do keep up on reading. carold

Sorry about Lyme and Molly but what Tina said. And Frontline Plus does a terrible job with fleas. Just ask Peaches. I don't trust anymore.

Frontline Plus.....was still working on Ticks for me but what others said.....was not proving effective for fleas... Last spring I think I alternated Frontline with an excellent flea product every other month. I generally don't give treatment every 4 weeks but have found 4-8 weeks works for me and still is effective for fleas and ticks.....so the rotation of products worked. I already had Frontline Plus and used it up that way..... Just my experience, others may vary.

Morning all,

Just got home from church, so thought I would pop in. Carolb, nice to see you this morning. I agree, I miss the old regulars who used to pop in here all the time too. FB is nice but just can't be as personal as on here.

Puppers are outside killing themselves probably They sure do have a great time chasing each other and wrestling. You should hear the barks, snarls and growls going on out there. Then they will come in, all tired out, plop and nap and go at it again. All that plus the long afternoon walk, gives them plenty of exercise.

Thanks for the comments on Molly and the Lyme's and also the Frontline. I think I am going to take it back and go back with my regular Revolution. I never had a tick problem with other dogs being on Revolution and they have had it for years and it's worked great for fleas. Sure it might not cover all the ticks, but it may have just been a one time particular tick that she could have gotten bit with down in IN, or even the U.P. or maybe even out west last summer. Who knows.

So today, going to work on scrapbook for awhile, take our walk and back to scrapbook. Looking at all the pictures of that trip makes me want to go back out there again. Maybe next year. O'Sharon, PA isn't totally off my list, it's just that I decided my trip fund isn't up to where I want it and I also have a leased truck that is pushing it's limit on miles this summer, so kind of thinking I might just stay in MI and surrounding areas this summer. Doesn't mean that by fall, I might not head out your way. Also need to see how Miss Piper does in the trailer too although I didn't give Molly any break in. We headed west and that was it.

Okay, not lingering here, want to get back to the pages. Have a wonderful Sunday all.
