Gmorning all:)

Surely some easterner is opening MC as I type, so I've titled this simply "Monday"--but it is the first of Feb, & I didn't say rabbits!

Sue, how exciting for you & Mollie :D Piper is absolutely beautiful--gorgeous colors! So now we have two Pipers in our forum family:) Sarah, good to see you here again, & I'm very glad you made it to FL safely. Hope the weather there is more agreeable to you for "allergies' sake"!

I'm on Plan C: Was in Q over the wkend, got a msg from Peg that she may not make Organ Pipe later in the month, so I made a beeline south to spend a couple nights with Anita & Liz. Beautiful here! A little wind/rain overnight, but doesn't seem near as bad as the forecast predicted. Hope you weren't blown away, Beth. Whitewater is great--you took me there last year, & I camped there one night:)

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

good Monday morning

Good morning everyone it's getting warm you're in Florida not that I minded the cool weather didn't like all the cold stuff though... well I got my dad to the doctor and hospital they changed his pacemaker now he has state-of-the-art every morning at 2 a.m. it sends info to his doctor's office they can keep track better that way... also the doctors and nurses at the hospital were amazed at how all his blood work and all his tests came back for a man his age they were all perfect with the new pacemaker the doctor said he would live quite a while yet unless some dreaded disease got him... he was dehydrated and does not eat enough the doctors the doctors impressed upon him how important hydration and food is... I have talked to him also a little more about it and I hope we got through it to him I reminded him what the doctor said that he probably wasn't going to die anytime soon and he needed to be keeping his nourishment up I told him if he wanted to have a quality of life and not end up in bed ridden because he can't do anything due to mountain nourishment and weakness he had to pay attention... think he might be playing me a little bit but now after all this and what the doctor said I do not feel as bad I feel better not thinking he's going to die any minute and that he has to take more responsibility for himself his mind is sharp sharper than what he's letting on to me... I could tell by the way he answered questions they ask him .... I decided I'm not going to worry so much and try and live my life.... and another happy note I've been hinting around that I had some other news think it's for long enough now and I can tell you I had an offer on my house in Pennsylvania... the Boro made the test for the sewer line and all that stuff and it passed the deed has been searched and it passed in my real estate lady said that they want a end of February closing y'all don't know what a relief this is so I have good news this morning I hope you all do too have a good one & B safe donna
PS.. made a couple blog post do you want to take a look

Me who can sleep through most anything got very little sleep with the wind gusts overnight. Things are a bit calmer now, but time to get up and ready for work. We're also in a winter weather advisory today. It's going to now be a very cold couple days before getting back up to more normal temps.

Carol, I was telling the person I took today how you spent the night planning to watch the birds fly out in the morning, but only heard them :-) . Timing is everything!

Happy Monday, everyone. Beth, enjoyed your blog post. Carol, looks like you beat out those early rising easterners, Donna so glad to hear the good news about your dad. And howdy to all who follow.

If I do what I need to do, I'll have a busy day today. Need to get RV serviced (Is that what it's called when the oil is changed, thingys lubed, brakes checked, etc.?) and propane tank filled. Need to use propane to get fridge cold enough. Once it's cold, can switch to elec. That's OK with me. The service and propane places are close to each other, so easy peasy. Then I'll park her on the street, in front of the house, and plug her in to get ready for visit with Birdie on Wed and Thurs. Streets and Trips says it's a four-hour drive; that means at least six for me. I drive like an old lady and the dogs get frequent potty stops. I left a lot of stuff in the RV after visiting Karen, so it'll be easier to load this time. And it's a short trip, so maybe I won't be compelled to pack enough stuff for a safari. Hmmm....fat chance. A girl's gotta have choices.

It's February already or again. Didn't we just do this? Travel safe. Tail up.
Nikki

It's really foggy this morning. The temperatures are going to be in the 70's today and tomorrow and rain moving in tomorrow night. They are saying severe storms and you know it will be heading East.

Good news Donna on your house and your dad. I think men like to play helpless to try to make us feel sorry for them. Harold will mess something up and instead of asking our son for help he will just be mad until I get home.

Wish I could go see Birdie with you Nikki. If it takes you 6 hours it would take me 12.

My nose is running again this morning. I hope I'm not going to start with the allergies. My mother had what they called hay fever back in her day. I'm sure it was allergies. She would have problems at different times of the year.

No plans for the week other than clean out my camper and get ready for the next trip. Don't know when that will be. I have one in March and April if I decide to go. The Louisiana women had one scheduled for Mississippi in 3 weeks but no one wants to go that far. Will have to see what campground they change it to.

Oh yay, Donna! That's great news on your house, and will be a great relief to you I know when the closing is done.

Temperatures dropped here with the wind that came through overnight, but it is sunny, so just need to add more clothes when I go out.

Got one batch of mail forwarded to Ajo, and used time this morning to take care of what needed to be done. Got signed up for direct-deposit reimbursements on my med. insurance premiums. That was a biggy, but the first one already went out by check in the mail, so will have to get that forwarded when it arrives. So nice to be able to do everything online and paperless. My second mailing is awaiting me in Ajo, and after I pick it up Wednesday, I'll be able to file my taxes online as well. I like to get those things taken care of, so thinking about them is not interfering with my fun, lol.

Sarah and Tina, how are things at Sportsman's Cove....any more improvements?

Good morning :D
À tad cold this morning, a bit breezy and a little rain overnight, made for a nice cozy
sleep. At least the sun will shine tomorrow.
Congrats on the house deal Donna!
I forgot to say rabbits , maybe next time.
Off to get a nap in before I go back to work. Y'all
have a great day and be safe.

Good morning gals! It is foggy here too. Reminds me of California with the marine layer rolling in each morning.

Working all day. Still having pain in my bad knee so not sure what is bringing that on. Kept me off my feet all day yesterday so didn't get much done.

Did go to the party at the Diva Den and that was nice. The new "man cave" is gorgeous. Looks like a log lodge with a huge stone fireplace and ginormous bar made of a natural (uneven) piece of wood. It is twicw the size of my whole apartment! Lots of money for a man cave. Even has a urinal in the bathroom. Crazy!

Donna, glad to hear about your dad and your house. Now you can relax a little.

Have a good day!

Sounds like many are off to a good Monday. Donna so happy for you with the stress relief of knowing things are better with your Dad and the house selling. We had some wind overnight but not what others are saying they had. Sunny here and temp headed towards 60's. Barbie, hope you get relief with your knee. Did you see my note yesterday about knees?
Mel got a call today to go see a pain Dr Friday . Most likely useless because he can't and won't take narcotics because they cause him terrible side effects including sleep apnea, and opioids are the Drs specialty. This is what the ENT dr wants us to do, so, ok, we will play the game. I want him to see a hand specialist, but guess we have to do this first. Sheesh. Hope it's not a total waste of our time and the docs!
Not much else planned here.
Have a good day and happy hiking for those who are.

Nikki, I drive like an old lady, probably because I AM one! 200 mile drive takes me 8 hours--course I take a diuretic and stop at every rest area for the first four hours, and then stop for groceries and whatever, maybe a McDonalds and gas! Takes a long time to do all of that. As long as I get there before dark, I am happy.

And congratulations on selling your house, Donna. I will tell you that my mother was a real challenge. The last 15 years of her life, even before she showed signs of dementia, she had horrible eating habits. She would consider a Dove ice cream bar a good lunch, even when she could go down for lunch and dinner in the dining room in her senior building. And she would lie about everything so she would not get caught by me. She had a bad back and would often not get out of bed until mid-afternoon, so I had to hire someone to make sure she was up and dressed every day by 10:00 am, which was our compromise! She was perfectly capable of getting herself up and dressed and even fixing herself something to eat. She also talked the younger caregivers out of giving her her pills, so I ended up finding an older woman who was a little smarter and who was not bamboozled, as they used to say!!

It was really windy and rainy here last night as well, but I had parked in the wind so I found a spot where the back end was facing the wind, so it was not too bad. Also got less around midnight. I am getting better at finding spots where I can run my generator also. This one is at the far end and has no one behind or on the generator side! Don't feel guilty this time.

Me, too. I figure I'm entitled.

Wish I could remember where I read that. It refers to a happy dog. I like it, too. Thanks.

Donna, forgot to say how happy I am for you that your house sold. Or was it an offer? Either way, it's progress and I'm happy for you.

Left Betsy at the garage, they were very busy. Will pick up and load tomorrow. Then Wednesday a.m., after commute hours, I'm outta here.

Martha, wish you were coming along, also.

Nikki

Just got home and read the rest of the messages on last nights MC thread. Wanted to comment on some of the posts there...

Velda, thanks for the info on knee pain. Guess I should be using ice instead of heat. It does feel better today but will keep that in mind for the next time. If I wear my knee brace at night, it does feel better the next day. This time it took 2 days to feel better. I just read about a new natural product for joint pain called Curcumin2K Joint Support. Might try that and see if it works.

Catherine, I don't have to worry about spending any money at the RV show. I don't think $50 will get me much and that is about all I have. I used to love going to the dog beaches! It is so fun to watch the dogs having such a blast in the water with all the other dogs!

Martha, we do not have foam chair mats at work. The owner insists that the flooring is "cushioned" underneath. I doubt it. She thinks the mats look crappy. Never mind that the flooring warps and peels when it gets wet (who came up with that idea for a hair salon??) and the chair mats would protect the floor from the water. Duh!

BJ, I have been wanting to start meditating and that is a good reason to do so. Also hoping to take yoga classes at the fitness center. I sign up tomorrow so will see what their class schedule looks like. I will be sure to tell them about my knee issues before starting any program. I had knee surgery 16 years ago to repair a meniscus tear and it got botched by the surgeon and it had to be re-operated on but was never quite right ever since, so have had issues with it ever since.

Barbara, Curcumin is a derivative of Tumeric and Tumeric is a good anti inflammatory.
