Rainy Day, Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Day, Friday

Postby BirdbyBird » Fri Jan 15, 2016 6:39 am

Wake up friends! Listen to the pity pat of gentle rain on the roof. This afternoon it is expected to come through with even more intensity and winds. Hopefully the dogs and I will be back to the rig after our very early ring time. ....Weather in your part of the country may vary. :)

Dogs have already been pottied and fed. Stuart and Remi are ready to go back to sleep and Audrey and Josef will get their "ring" prep completed. On a rainy day I am not making any of us work too hard. There is some tenting covering a small part of the rings but I am not expecting any of us to get out of this dry.

Come on in the kitchen and place your request with the "Morning Coffee Chef" and enjoy calorie free breakfast of your choice. Enjoy your day full of possibilities and may you discover some wonderous discoveries that you were not even expecting!

Mornin' Tina, puppers, and all who follow ~~~

Have a good time at the show. Is there a class for wet dog smell? :P

Not much here. Punkin has found out that rabbits like our back yard. :o Well, at least I can work on the 'stay' when I open the door so he doesn't go flying out. He hasn't quite got the idea of sleeping through the nite yet either. Whisker tickles during the night, but one 'No' usually makes him go back to sleep.

Carol, I must have missed it about Maggie. Sorry to hear. I know she was your good little traveling companion. Waiting for the scoop on Ava's date and glad to hear JudyJB's son is mending and back home.

Can't remember everything else I've read lately. Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Good Morning Tina and all,

Wow, what way to start the day, with a lively and lovely post. Thanks Tina. Hope your dog show even gets off the ground with the weather forecast you have. I guess both Soos and Donna are sitting tight rather than head to Hardee Lakes this morning too. And looks like another round tomorrow as well. It's raining here, but freezing on the snow covered roads. Schools to the north, NW and NE of here are closed. Good luck at the show.

I want to take Miss Molly to vet's office today for a nail trim, weigh in and pickup Revolution. We shall see. Not sure if we will get our walk today either :( Also wanted to go to AAA for some road maps, so I can look at possible routes to and from PA. But I guess I will spend part of morning finishing up the work I am doing in my basement with the insulation.

Note to dog owners. There is a new strain of dog flu out. So be careful with your furry kids. Supposedly started in Chicago area and spread from there.

So, y'all have a nice day whatever you Are doing or wherever else you are going. Stay safe in al the crazy weather out there. :)

We are back in the rig waiting for the line of storms to run over us with wind and rain. We got wet but the rain was not heaven when we were out and, hey, we are spaniels, right?

Josef helped the another boy win his points but he did gait around the ring in the rain well. :) Audrey picked up another Select and another point towards her GCH. She was also the best Owner Handler dog entered so she gets to go back after three o'clock and compete in the Sporting Group made up of the best Owner Handler of each breed. There are a lot of professional handlers here showing and not to many us little people. :)

I believe that the "new" dog flu may be real but I haven't seen any of it in all the running around this year. The out break in the Chicago area was big news in the spring just as I drove out to Dekaulb for the weekend dog show. I stayed alert but heard and saw nothing. My vet in Ohio mentioned it too me this fall but was more interested in whether I had seen or experienced it in other areas. He made no big push to vaccinate based on his lack of seeing it as a threat to the SW Ohio area. Dogs with weakened immune systems might be more at risk. Dogs, especially dogs under stress, come down with respiratory illness we just don't always hear about it on the news.

Here comes the storm front......wheeeee.......

Tina, I don't envy you a wet dog show. I showed horses when I was in high school and it's a lot of work getting and keeping an animal ready for the ring. I think I got that out of my system. My neighbor has some show cattle for his grandson. Yesterday was the first time I have seen the grandson even feed. Grandpa is the one that takes care of the show calf. I only see pictures of the grandson and calf on Facebook at the show. If someone had bought me a calf to show when I was a kid I would have lived at the barn.

It rained all day yesterday and we got 1 1/2 inches. The sun was out but it looks like rain again. The radar shows that the rain has made it to Florida and the East Coast.

No big plans for today. I need to go to the bank since the one we use doesn't have anything open on Saturday. I hope Walmart has restocked the cat food I buy. I try to keep a bag ahead but Walmart has been out for the past 2 weeks. I don't know what the problem is but it doesn't look like our Walmart is being restocked very fast with some things.

I would like to have a calorie free breakfast. I just wish someone would finish the King Cake so that doesn't temp me every time I walk in the kitchen.

good morning everybody. Tina! Is that really you so early in the morning? Wow...those dog shows must be magic... ;) You sound happy and that makes me happy. Good morning, Sue and Irish. I hope everyone, including families human and non, are happy and healthy or on their way there. The yard trimming guys came yesterday, cut down all the huge shrubs, dug all the half dead stuff out of the beds, trimmed everything that needed trimming and hauled it all off. They even did some heavy lifting that I can't do so now I can start my dry stream project. Yay! After years of having a very lush yard, it's barren. I'm reminding myself that the bugs were eating it anyway so what's the diff. Now I don't have to watch the damage grow. Besides I don't enjoy yard work anymore, and it will be nice to travel without worrying about it. I've decided to hold on to the house until my finances recover from the stock market losses. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. I'll just keep doing research on rigs and fulltime lifestyles and see where it takes me. I also plan to go out in Betsy as much as possible. I might have said this yesterday, but I'll finally outfit her so that I can take off at a moment's notice. All I'll need is food in the frig. Everything else will be in her.

I sure wish I knew of boondocking spots near San Antonio. The campgrounds are too full with snowbirds. Karen, if you read this please text me. My phone's address book got corrupted and many of my contacts are trashed. I can answer texts, but I can't retrieve anything from my address book. I need to go get a new phone. Just have to decide whether to go to Verizon from Sprint. I think someone posted a comparison of carriers for RVers, so I'll find that list on here. Martha you posted while I was working on this book. How far are you from San Antonio? And how far from New Orleans? I've always wanted to go to New Orleans.

Nikki! Enough already!

Good Morning from Lake Havasu, AZ

Liz and Sandi have pulled out to go to their respective Balloon Fest campsites. As you know from reading Liz's posts and blogs, we have been having a great time! I have supplied the drama with many things going wrong! Hopefully, trailer issues are solved and I have a new hitch on the truck. Now a battery issue and pressure regulator on the hot water tank.

I'll head to Quartzsite at some point but today I may just sit tight to regroup!

Lots to catch up on here. Hope you all have a great day and those in Florida and other storm areas stay safe!

Nicki, I'm about 30 miles South of Lafayette. I'm a little over 400 miles from San Antonio and about 3 hours from New Orleans. When I was working we went to New Orleans several time a year just to mess around for a weekend. Since Katrina and all the problems they have had Harold doesn't think I should go to New Orleans at all. He doesn't always know where I am. Sharon, Carolyn and I went for a day several years ago. My recommendation is don't go in July and August because it is HOT. Every so often someone mentions having a GTG in New Orleans but it never has happened. There are several campgrounds in New Orleans and some across the lake. I think Colleen has camped there several times.

Good morning all. I sure am enjoying the Arizona adventures on Liz's blog: good times. We're looking at an arctic blast of zero-degree days coming up starting tomorrow. I'm getting out just in time, leaving for my quilting cruise to the eastern Caribbean. Flying to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow to board ship on Sunday: with Wisconsin weather I didn't want to take the chance of missing the boat! Three days sewing and 3 shore excursions, home the 24th. I'll try to figure out posting pictures when I get back, not paying for on-board wi-fi.
Stay warm and dry...

Tina, we want photos of you and Audrey in Group! She's really doing well this week, isn't she? How many shows on this circuit?

Gee, Martha, I'd eat up your King Cake. I'm just kind-hearted like that.

Not morning here anymore but breakfast sounds good! I'll put my order in! Some nasty weather across FL today. Kinda wondered if you would hold off leaving, Donna. Sounds like a wise idea to wait. Just got back from the vet's with Rascal. Not good news but about what I expected. I posted in the pet section for some input from you all. Other than that, not much going on here. Warmish day today, snow from the last couple of days had a chance to melt some so the piles are smaller in preparation for the next blast! I only have just a small area in front to pile it, then it becomes where to put it. Hope all of you in AZ have a good time meeting up with each other. Will be thinking of you. Travel safe.

According to the news, the dog flu has shown up in the Seattle area. I stopped in at my vet's yesterday and asked about a vaccine and they said they did not have it as it was not that affective on this new strain.
