Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning.

Reality check for those who might wonder what the day or date is. Thought I would set it up there for you. January is moving right along here.

Nothing new to report from the north Snow continues to fall, but of the light variety and not much in way of accumulations. Inch here and inch there. But today I will go out and clean up what's out there and get ready for more that I know will come. Exercise time. Temps are moderating into the 30's for next couple of days. Going to feel like a heat wave here  Miss Molly and I will enjoy our walks for sure. Nice neighbors down the road where the path is that we take to get from our sub road to the road going around the next lake over, blew out the path again, so no having to wallow in the snow, not that I was going to anyway. Have to thank them when I see them.

Been looking over road routes to Gettysburg, but need to get some state maps from AAA. Am also waiting on the travel info I sent for so I can read and plot. Looking at he distances from Gettysburg to Lancaster, Antietam etc., kind of wondering if maybe using Gettysburg as a base and exploring out from there would be good instead of moving from place to place. Some seem fairly close together and other then seeing those sights, not much doing in the given area. What do you gals out there, O'Sharon, Brendac, etc. think? Right now looking at route through OH to avoid Toledo and the larger cities.

Finally went to town yesterday and did some shopping and errands. All set now till Sunday church unless weather kicks up again. Supposed to be another round of really cold air heading in this weekend all the way south to TX and FL panhandle. That could kick off lake effect here again. We shall see.

Looks like everybody's just doing normal day to day stuff, waiting out winter, some planning maybe. Barb, are you looking for another little trailer to camp with? I know you have been talking about finding something. GypsyRose, how are you doing with that Sportsman you got? Are you heading out of WI yet this winter or are you already gone? I'm going to be making reservations in the U.P. for McLain State Park in the Keweenaw for first week of August soon as the reservations system starts taking them. At least I hope I can get the site I want. Also will be doing some other U.P. parks as well.

Okay, time to get dressed in the outdoor gear and get out there. You all have a nice day, whatever you do.

Good Morning Everyone!! Today it's been 15 years that I have had to travel alone, so I didn't need the date reminder Sue, but I do think a reminder is needed at times for us "retarded" folks   5 more days and it will be a month since Maggie had to leave. She sure hung in there a long time for me Bless her heart. But I plan to have a good day, I'll spend most of it with my grands and DD, so I have a nice place to enjoy my day. Not to sure the sun will make it out, having a hard time, still gloomy, we have rain coming but gosh that's tomorrow, so where's the sun ??

You have no problem with finding time for exercise this time of year all of our northern Sistah's , right ?? I remember those days couple of years ago, miss them NOT !! Ol bod misses the exercise though.

No real news here, thought I'd do some laundry and a few things here to help my DD out. I should also go to grocery for me instead of waiting until tomorrow, not sure I want to try to do it in the rain. Have other things I'll need to do and sure hoping I'm not in the rain for those chores tomorrow.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe but enjoy some fun time too,
CArol

Good morning gals. The month really is flying by.
Put in our sleep number bed last night. Best rest I've gotten since we bought this 5th wheel :D Now to get everything back under the bed and the camper straighten around. Leaving tomorrow for Hardee Lakes. Hooray!
Have to figure out a menu for the weekend and run to the store to go shopping. Dave's making clam chowder for the DOG and I'm making Jack Daniels Apple cobbler. Still have to figure out Friday and Saturday's menu. Donna, we are bringing a Dutch oven for you to use. Spoke to Nick yesterday and the park will be busy this weekend.
Time to get moving. Have a super day. Hope Brunc is feeling better.

Good morning
Just saw report saying one of the three winning lottery tickets was sold at Publix in Melbourn, FL - high hopes that Donna has it!

We have a nice weather day, the last in the foreseeable future. I'm going to take vacuum to campground and do some cleaning in Magic and see if I can get some bubble wrap on windows to help with temps as they are expected to drop into single digits next week. First I have to see if I can get my right hand useable again. I have let fingernails get too long and snapped two below quick and so far been too painful to try to trim.

I have some hope of getting on the road south by end of next week. Going to be a bit more difficult this time. The manager there who has been such a great help to me suffered a heart attack Monday. He is expected to recover but not likely to go back to work. I will sorely miss him.

So sorry I am going to miss the gtg at Hardee Lakes.

Better get to work otherwise the day will slip away without me getting anything accomplished.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

It's gray again here and we have more rain coming. Just what we need, more mud. Carolb wanted to walk to the ponds when she was here and it was more like wade to the ponds. I wish I would have had some worms so she could fish. The smaller pond has a bunch of water plants taking it over. I don't think it's filling in because it is pretty deep. Wondering if she made it across Texas yet. We kept looking at the map and talking about how far it is. It takes me 3 days to get across Texas.

I keep looking at the 10 day forecast and I don't think it is going to be too cold for the upcoming campout on the 23rd. I'm getting cabin fever and want to go somewhere.

My sister is going to Shreveport today to see a specialist about her pancreatitis. It's not going to do any good to go that far to a doctor if she isn't going to follow the diet. Every time I talk to her she tells me about what she ate and how it made her sick. I know it's hard to stay on a diet but if something was going to make me sick I wouldn't eat it. I use to have acid reflux really bad. I know pretty well what will make me sick so I don't eat that. I haven't had to take any medicine in a long time.

I browned a roast and put it in the slow cooker with the Ranch Dressing, brown gravy mix and peppers. I'm on a mission to cook some of the things in the freezer so we can find things. Wish I could go to the GTG. I cook in a dutch oven but on the stove. It's amazing the amount of stuff the DOG group here hauls around. I'm not that much into cooking.

Sarah, as soon as I start doing something around my motorhome I break some nails. Sorry to hear the manager had a heart attack.

Good morning, ok waiting on my car for tires. No tires at fletchers I could afford, however, discount tire is putting all 4 tires on and letting me pay half and the other half next payday, I end up paying about $40 more but its a better deal for me. Discount wants my return business.
Would be awesome if Donna won't the lottery.
The sunshine feels good even though the air is a tad chill.
Y'all have a great day and be safe.

Didn't quite make it for morning but it's just afternoon! tHanks for the heads up on the date, Sue :D! i decided to get out and take care of the snow when I saw the sun peeking out. It is already helping dry out the sidewalk and part of the driveway. After the frigid temps yesterday mid 30's are nice! CArol, if you want some excersice I'd be glad to loan you a shovel! I'll even throw in coffee or tea to warm you up! I just checked my Fitbit and it's acting all funny, numbers are just partial. I used the snowblower out back and it was really blowing around so wonder if it got wet. Bummer if it didn't count my steps

Sue, imo, there's a fair distance from Gettysburg and Lancaster. Depending on where you find a campground. I imagine there are some partway between. Lancaster traffic and roads are kinda congested or at least they were when I was last there. Brenda is closer and probably much more familiar with the area then I am. When I've gone I was usually on a mission that didn't allow much time to deviate. Other then my last trip to G-Burg when I took a wrong turn to the battlefield. So not sure what to suggest. Did see some parts that I said I'd like to take time to see again....if I could remember where I was!! The last trip I took with DS took is into some great back roads and I think I could sorta find it again! Again, we were on a time crunch so it was get there, pick up the stuff he was buying and get home. Love taking day trips with him but sightseeing isn't part of the deal!
Kathleen, don't be a stranger, good or bad, we like to hear from you. And hope Mickie jumps in now and again. This rv world is sometimes trial and error! As much as I loved the RT it wasn't right for me either. Think what I have now suits me much better. Well, better go throw the clothes in the dryer so I can finish that task! Have a good day and travel safe.

A bit past morning, but the first chance I've had to post. Kathleen I'm sorry to hear about your kittens. I hope you'll post when you can. Pat, hope Bronc is feeling better soon. Welcome to retirement. I'm very tired and can't remember what I read is going on with everybody else. Whatever it is, good or bad or neutral, it will pass. My new motto is "embrace the change." Matty's maiden RV voyage went better than expected. We had a few mishaps, poor little guy gets excited and looses control, but nothing that couldn't be mopped up or thrown in the laundry. He slept on the bed, not in the crate. If I stuck to my guns with the crate, nobody was sleeping. With him in the bed at least he and Olive slept. I'm not used to sleeping with one dog on my legs and another on my head. Matty thinks he needs to be on my pillow, even if that means he sleeps half on my head. Oh well, I can sleep this afternoon. I'm making up a list of things to keep in the RV so I can leave on a moment's notice. I need to start using this thing. Guys are supposed to come do the winter trimming in the backyard this afternoon.

Every body stay warm and dry and travel safe.

Gmorning all :)

Still morning here at the border of TX & NM, which is where I am already. And I've been here for about an hour now--traffic jam due to an accident, so I pulled off to the side to "camp out" for a while. Crikey, don't know if they'll ever get it cleared. Maybe I should start looking for an alternative route. Nothing where I am, just a dirt/sand road that goes to private property...

Hey Pat! I forgot to congratulate you on retirement, & YES, you're doing what you want to do:) Kathleen, please don't stay away--your troubles are our troubles, & though we don't suffer, we are here to support you. Ava, glad you are FINALLY getting those tires replaced! G'grief, they were bald when I was there last year

And BTW, I should be in Q on Sat or Sunday. Lyn, you aren't going to be there? Dang! I have scheduled an appt with my vet in Mesa for Tigg on Friday , so Ava Honey, shall we gtg?

Martha, I need more cake!!! Such a great time with you, & great to have a short but wonderful visit with Carolyn--you guys picked an excellent restr!

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good afternoon gals! I am home on my split shift today. It is cloudy but warmer today, mid 20's. Will be taking a nosedive on Sunday with a high of -6 below zero of course, since it is my birthday which is always one of the coldest days of winter!

Sue, I am not yet looking for a trailer. I have a new tent to use for now. Need to buy a car first and then save up money for a trailer in a year or two. Am still looking to get a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Am meeting next week with a Consumer Credit counselor to get my credit report looked at and hopefully figure out how to clean it up. Am planning to use my tax refund this year to put towards the new vehicle. Was going to take a vacation to California but I really need the car instead so vacation will have to wait until next year. :(

Sophie Kitten has taught me how to play "fetch" now. Lots of fun! She is so cute! Will be glad tho when she gets a little older and settles down some. She has such an attitude! I tell her "no!" and she looks at me like "yeah, whatever!"

My heat is working now and is down to 72 in here finally. Yay! Much more comfortable!

Hope you all have a great day and stay safe on the roads!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good evening gals,
Busy day today and my body is telling me about it. Sore and hurting from all my doings.
Finished up laundry this a.m. and rebedded stalls. That means I hauled 5 40lb. bags of bedding from the old chicken house where I store them to the horse barn and into the stalls. These dang nags sure are a lot of hauling and doing! Had 3 pet sit visits for one client which finished up at suppertime so I'm done for today and tomorrow I will clean MIL's house and do my one Friday dog walk. Sure was nice to walk dogs in decent temps today!
Went to Meijer's and bought one of those tall plastic storage cabinets that look like a wardrobe and Molly and I put it together this afternoon. Then we filled it with stuff from the junk room and straightened up the room so that it looks half way presentable. If anyone needs a cooler, just ask me. I am the "Cooler Queen" because I have at least 14 ice chests. And most of 'em I found by the wayside; 2 nice Coleman metal ones and a lot of big plastic ones too. I even have one I got at a garage sale for $10 that cools and heats on 12V! That one should come in handy for groceries in hot weather as I have a 12 V plug in the back of the car.
Got the big freezer all cleaned out and most of the stuff gone through. Just a few containers of food that I didn't have time to sort out so I just put it back in; will take a look tomorrow afternoon. My next project is to take everything off the tops of my kitchen cabinets, clean it and the cabinet tops and put most of it back up there. It's so dusty that everything needs to be washed off. Might also clean outside of cabinets with Murphy's soap but will depend on how tired I am after doing the tops.
Made Liz's cranberry chicken for supper tonight, so delish! I gave the recipe to my MIL and she loved it. She told my SIL and she loved it too! SIL was going to try it on ribs to see how that tasted.
Have one job for Saturday; client's daughter is getting married and I am needed to feed the dogs and cats while they are away. Easy peasy job, they are good critters. Sunday we are planning to go for breakfast with friends. I've been wanting to get together with them for a while now and suggested to DH that he talk to them if and when they stop in at the shop, which they do frequently. He did and they want to meet us so hopefully we will be able to go. Looking forward to seeing them.
Sarah, I have been thinking of you and your allergies. I have been having a heck of a time with mine for the last month or so and I find that if I don't take my Claritin or Zyrtec, I pay for it with trouble breathing and a bad headache which sometimes becomes a migraine. I think I'm addicted to the stuff. Seems as if every time I try to not take it and tough it out, I feel like I can't breathe at all. So I give in and take the stuff just to be able to breathe. There's nothing new or different in the house or car so I can't figure out what is causing it. Guess it might be time for a Dr. visit. Ugh!

That is about all from here for now, everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.
