Morning,

Tuesday morning here and the view is snow, with some light snow falling. We've picked up at least 14 inches between Saturday nights storm into yesterday's lake effect. Might see 2-4 today, but winds are to carry as much as a foot along the western lakeshore. Spent 2 and a half hours out blowing snow yesterday and other than doing all of my deck, have 3 driveways and a quarter of my yard cleaned up. Wasn't bad out there as no wind, so rather pleasant.

So today, will stay pretty much inside. County has plowed road but I know will do it again today, so if they come through, maybe Miss Molly and I wil take a walk. Can't do our biggie, as our trail between the roads is snowed in now and main highway is too snow covered and slippery to venture walking alongside on. Want to finish my insulation work as far as I can go today, then start cleaning basement. Few cobwebs down there and want to sweep off shelves, go through a couple boxes of "stuff" I put down there, think most of it is heading to Salvation Army.

Nikki, if you have a pinched nerve, go see a chiropractor. It's probably being cased by disc or something that has slipped and pinching the nerve. They can put it back where it is supposed to be. I know over the years, chiropractors have gotten a bad rap, but a good one, especially one who uses what is called the "activator" method, are worth it. I have been going to one for about 13 years now. Believe me, she has really kept me out of the doctors office. The activator is a little hand held device that they can adjust for pressure. She has a series of movements she does on me and that tells her what's out of place. Then she takes the activator, places it on the spot and Bing, done. Feels like a little hammer tap. In 10 minutes I'm done and gone. I've had pinched nerves, slipped knee cap, slipped pelvis and so forth put back where they belong, whereas a doc would do surgery and meds. The othe thing too, see if you have a Council or Commission on aging near you. They usually have Advocates who are experts in Medical insurance and can help you pick out what's right for you. I'm got mine that way.
qq
Carolb, glad to see you made it to Martha's. Judy, glad son is is on way home now. He was so lucky that you were in here to help out. Now off to your adventures again. Barb, hope they get your thermostat hooked up.

Missy Molly is snuggled next to me on the floor here, snoozing, the fire is going in the gas stove and birds are busy at the feeder, so all's well with my world at the moment. Hope the same for you. If not, know it too will pass.

Volunteering today at my old office. Life is good.

Good Morning Everyone!!! Well, leaving my sis a day early, Grandma is needed down in Lake Wales area for a day or so. Hey, while I'm here might as well play the part of Grandma up right !!! ;) I really haven't had that much of a chance at this roll, living so far apart from all of them. So this evening I will probably be trying to save my reputation at a game I taught them  :D

It is a wee cool this morning, but feels good to me, of course, I am not just standing out in short sleeves in it :o No news really, have more dr. visits, but have a few days free, that I can play. Judy, so glad to hear your son is doing better. Carolb, you and Martha, behave out there, probably should have just saved my breath, right?? :D Oh whatever, just have fun !!! Sue and Barbie, I love visiting the north, but not this time of year. Maybe for a couple of days, love snow, the old bod doesn't too much anymore though. My home is way out away from anyone, no one there during the day and Maggie and I, probably looked like we were both crazy when we got out in the new snow. She loved it !!! We had 15 inches one time and the new snow was beautiful, we walked out back, and found tracks, really showed up new snow and sun on it, and Maggie started nosing around, she got real excited, I wasn't to much when I realized what made the tracks. The big wild cat that drinks at our creek, as far as we can tell he lives across the road from me. Saw a bear cub over there last summer. Oh well, don't have to worry about any of that for a couple of months.

Need to get moving here, takes a while to get to dd's and I need to be there when kids get home from school. Will be nice to get back on the road, forget how long I've been here, :D but time to move . Tina, hope you had a good trip, thinking you are probably in Fl. or almost.

Have a great day , stay safe, and play in the snow a wee bit for me and my Maggie,
CArol

Carol, I am safely parked at McIntosh. Already enjoyed our morning walk around town. Will groom on Audrey and Josef today, drive over to see Irmi and Steve later this afternoon and tomorrow we head on down to the show site at Brookville. The puppets were guests at the nail trimming spa last night. Oh, they were so not thrilled. :)

Good morning!
Taking advantage of the cold and snow to clean out and defrost my big chest freezer. Have everything out of it and outside sitting in laundry baskets and boxes in the snow! Waiting on the frost to melt enough to fall off the insides of the freezer now. This isn't a hard job but it is made harder when you have 3 dogs trying to help you and sniffing all the items you take out. I am constantly tripping over brown bodies or yelling "get out!!!!" at the youngest. The two oldsters know enough to get out of my way when I've knocked into them a time or two.

We have about 2-3 inches here and it's cold cold cold! Yesterday's walkies were quite abbreviated. Just a quick out and in to potty. My current pet sit has texted me to alter the days/times she needs me, which I really do appreciate. Makes my schedule more do-able.

Made a big pot of ham and potato soup yesterday with leftovers from Sunday's ham dinner. Tonight I will make ham & cheese sliders because I thought ahead and bought enough of the Hawaaian rolls to make them with.

Everyone stay warm if it's cold where you are, and if it's not, well, do your own thing!

Take care,
Kathy

Good morning all. I've been out and about already this morning. Swept the driveway and sidewalk before I left for the drs office. Was only out an hour and came back to it being all covered again. :( Oh well, got some of it off! Sue, sounds like you are really getting hit, talking one to three inches here. So far the main roads are good, side roads not so much! With the temps in the 20s they are going to get nasty later. Dentist appointment later today but it's not far to go so no problem. This appointment this morning was kinda interesting, something new with Medicare. A wellness assesment, asked lots of questions about falls, emotional well being and the like. Was with a nurse and actually was a good way to baseline for later years. Of course rving came up and she asked about this group when I mentioned it, said she might be able to mention it to others plus I explained our senior pass for parks. Being as young as she is she wasn't aware of it! :D So all in all, guess I passed! Nikki, I agree with Sue about the chiropractor. I've been going to them for probably 25 years or so and they have really helped me over some humps. CArol, hope you have a great time at dd's and enjoy the grandchildren! Tina, your pups sound like my guys when it comes to their nails!! My guys don't like it at all! Kathy, good time to do the freezer! A job I've been walking around but need to do...again! Donna, sounds like you are getting all ready to leave for a few days, have a good time, enjoy yourself! Wondering if Carolb and Martha made it to the pond yesterday! Well, need to grab a bite to eat and then off to the dentist. Have a good day and stay safe and warm. Oh, and Linda, was glad to see your post and catch up with what you've been up to!

Good morning gals!

Slept in this morning but getting ready for work soon.
The thermostat won't get fixed til later this week so still surviving with the windows open here. Nice to have the "cool" breeze coming in but not so nice listening to the snow plows going by all night long! They are very loud! Not even sure why they were out since we barely got a dusting of snow yesterday and the roads are clear. I can understand if they were just putting salt and chemicals down but they are running there plow blades on the pavement which sounds like a jet airplane! But when we have a snowstorm, you can't find a snowplow anywhere around here!

It is 14* above and sunny today so not too bad out. The sun makes it look nicer anyways.

Sophie has learned how to play "fetch"! She brings me a toy mouse or bird and drops it next to me and waits for me to throw it across the room, then runs after it and brings it right back again! So cute! I had a cat years ago that did that too.

Making more progress on my autobiography. Just wish my computer could keep up with me without doing weird things all the time (stopping to save constantly, moving the curser randomly on the page, zooming in and out all the time, etc). Drives me crazy and interrupts my train of thought. How do people write novels with crap like that to deal with all the time? :?

Have a good day! :D

Barbie, your laptop and mine must be related--mine does those same exact things.

Barbie - do you have a laptop? Do you have a static pad under your laptop? Sometimes static causes laptops to do funny things.

Also, in my very first apartment I had baseboard heat. Do you have any access in your apartment to On/Off (not the thermostat - mine was in a closet). My heat used to stay on for eons and never shut off. I was able to shut it off manually and then when it got chilly, could turn it back on. Look for a pipe somewhere and see if there are any settings directly on the pipe.

Son made it home, and I am at Hensley Lake, east of Fresno, CA. You could all join me here because there are 52 of the 55 campsites available! Last time I was here, there were 54 of the 55 campsites available! :) And this is a COE campground with some electric sites, but great views. It is the hilliest and curviest campground I have even been to. The road twists around a bunch of small hills so that your site might have the picnic table and fire ring up or down some stairs next to your site. Almost nothing is level, but the hills are green now and the lake has gained some water. Still needs a lot more, but I can see some mountains in the far north area with snow on them! I am using some new chocks I got on my rear wheels just in case my brakes let loose or the transmission shifts into neutral from park because my site has a big drop-off on one side. Very pretty place if you are ever looking for a cheap and extremely quiet place to stay. It is about 30 miles away from Fresno, but a nice drive through cattle country to get here. (Posted photos on blog. There are not many COE campgrounds in CA with electric and within cell phone access area, so take a look.)

Got work to do as first two assignments were due last night, so new semester is off to a bang. So today, I will try to get as much done as possible so I am not so rushed at the end of the week. I have an eye test in Napa on Friday, so will be headed there early Thursday morning.

Well, past morning but not time for the campfire…maybe we need a tea time. Day two of retirement and I haven’t done one thing on my to do list. Spent most of yesterday trying to straighten out some things about my pay-off for annual and sick leave. By the time I was finished talking on the phone all morning I had a stress headache and took a nap. This morning Ashley called me about 9:30 and asked if I would watch Bronc this afternoon. The day care provider is sick and Ashley didn’t want to wake me up this morning…like I can sleep past 6 anyway….so she stayed home with him this morning. So I’ve had him since a little before noon and I think he’s coming down with something too. He was pretty whiny and that’s not usual. We rocked a few minutes and he was out and has been sleeping for two and a half hours.

BJ that key will show up now that you have bought a new one. Judy, glad that your son is on the mend. Sue and Carol….I wouldn’t know what it was like to take a dog for a walk in the snow! I always had Boston’s and they hate cold weather…..with just a skiff of snow and I almost had to drop kick Radar out the door to get her to go. Kathy about the only thing good about cold weather is being able to defrost the deep freeze and using the garage for an extra cooler when you need it! Barbie, I understand your heat dilemma. I lived in an upstairs apartment in college and the woman below me was an invalid and always cold. She controlled the heat and I was hot all the time with windows open in subzero weather.

Well, I’m starting to hear some stirring from the bedroom so I think pooper doop is waking up. Have a good day everyone.

Carolb and I went and met Carolyn for lunch. We ate at Don's Seafood Hut and it was very good. I was going to get the waitress to take a picture of us but we were doing so much gabbing that I forgot. Carolyn is slipping too because she is usually the one that takes a picture. Carol headed out going West. She has good weather to travel. It's sunny and almost 70.

Carol never did get to see Annie and Stinky because they would run as soon as they heard her coming up the steps. The first day Frost wasn't afraid of her but when he saw Stinky and Annie run he got worried. Maybe they knew something he didn't. After that he was kind of skittish. Silly cat.

While I was in Lafayette I had to get a King Cake. Harold likes chocolate filling and I like cream cheese. I got one of each and cut them in half so I could freeze some. That's a lot of sweet.

Judy, glad your son made it home. I know they are happy.

Martha

Thanks for the advice to go to a chiropractor. I think I found one, so if my hip isn't better in a few days, I'll make an appointment. I've started the research on Medicare, too.
