Finally Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Finally Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Jan 08, 2016 7:42 am

Morning,

End of another work week for those who are working unless you work weekends.

Cloudy and some wintery mix, rain etc. around up here this morning. That's the forecast for today, tonight and tomorrow before the bottom falls it of the thermometer for a few days and the much needed white stuff returns, compliments of Lake Michigan.

House cleaning on agenda this morning and then going to town this afternoon, do some errands so don't have to go out in the expected cold snowy weather if I don't want to, other than the daily walks depending on how much white stuff is on the roads. Got plenty to keep me busy inside.

Sent for a bunch of travel info yesterday from the east, so mailbox will be busy in a few weeks. Nice to sit down on a cold winters day and plan :D Ready to make reservations for summer as well, but need to wait till system takes them. Looks like trip to PA will probably be June. Also might hit MD, DE and NJ a bit as they are only states east of Missisippi I haven't been to.Hoping on some GTG's this Sumer too.

Gonna run now, so have a safe day all, especially those in paths of rain and floods. If on the road enjoy your travels.

Finally! I am on my way to pick up the rig. Only a couple of weeks late. I don't want to think of the $$$ I will have to leave behind but hopefully they went over everything and my travels will have fewer unexpected surprises because of it. Will have to drive home in the rain so I will definitely find out if they fixed that leak by the time I get home. I hope to get on the road south by Saturday afternoon of Sunday. I won't be able to make the stop in Charlotte to visit with the daughter as still comfortably make it in time for the dog shows on Thursday. So I moved the Charlotte visit back to February as I come back north. In general I know that winter in Ohio has been mild but my hands still stay "white" way too long and I cringe at the thought of having to go outside. Donna work on the Florida weather, woman. I don't need heat waves but 60's during the day would sure feel wonderful.

Gmorning Sue & Tina & all to follow :)

Had trouble getting on the forum to post the past couple days, but have been reading. Judyb, I'm late on figuring out what happened to your son, but I send my wishes for his speedy recovery. Can't remember now if anyone else is under the weather....

well, many under the weather! Tina, a good rain storm will surely help determine if leaks are fixed, but hope you find the sun in FL. Heaven only knows what Donna did with it  Donna, glad Phee survived her vet visit & all...

Tigg at vet as I write. Hate when I have to leave my pup at the vet, but they didn't know "how long" they would need for xrays & blood work. Hopefully they don't have to sedate him--he's done well in the past at being still enough for xrays without it. The lasix seemed to do a good job at reducing his bloating, thus his cough. If he has a heart issue, I hope the appropriate med will keep him going like Andy:)

Ok, y'all have a great day, be safe always 8-)

Good morning. Looks like our stretch of sunny days have ended. Rain in the forecast and by Sunday a mix of rain and freezing rain and snow. And much colder temps! I finally pulled out my snow shovels yesterday and put them up on the back porch. Figured I'll probably need them pretty soon so better to have them close! Checked the snowblower out and ran it for a few minutes too. Just in case! So while I was doing that I ran the generator in Lola too. Everything looked good, no leaks or critters so guess all is good! Just sad to sit there and not see anything out the windows but the cover! Soon it will be spring! Sue, hope we can meet up somewhere in PA! Carolb will probably be back east by then and she's usually up for a trip! Tina, sure hope they got the leak fixed and you don't have any problems with that. Donna, saw the pics of pup on FB, she's so cute! Carolb, I hope the vet finds out what's going on with Tigg and can help. JudyJB, hope everything is working out with your son. I joined FMCA and apparently they added emergency transport as an added benefit in the membership.

I was supposed to have company this week end, we've been trying since Oct but apparently she has to attend a CE class on Sat! So, since I was going to put them in my room, I've held off changing the sheets on the bed this week but will go ahead and get that done today. Plus need to do some other stuff inside today. A house cleaning day! I've gotten a couple more bags to donate! Slow process this clearing out! So better get moving. Have a good day!

Good morning
Mild temps (60) with light rain today, thunderstorms tomorrow, Arctic blast Sunday, snow flurries Monday. I really need it to stay warm a little longer.
Played hooky yesterday; went to TN for a lottery ticket. Rarely squander $$ on lottery and all I've ever won was a free play.
Having a hard time getting my intentions and attention to line up. Several "must dos" for me to be able to head south need to be at forefront but keep slipping due to outside interference.
If rain doesn't get any worse will go to laundry mat to wash Nicky's RV bedding then take it and vacuum to campground for a little cleaning. Probably should stop for some bubble wrap to put on Magic's windows for insulation. Not sure about that yet.
After a long stretch of very little activity showing on my Fitbit, have done a tiny bit better this week. Just have to keep reminding myself to get up and move around more frequently. It really should not be this difficult.
Tina - hope you make your get away on time with no problems.

Still in Bakersfield, CA. Son had endoscopy yesterday and gall bladder surgery this morning. Finally his blood levels are down, showing that the pancreatitis is less, but he is in a lot of pain from all of this. I am renting a car with Enterprise for its $9.99 a day weekend rate to make it easier for his wife and so I have some transportation of my own. Need to do some grocery shopping and laundry, not sure when we are leaving, but it will not be tomorrow, I don't think. We might stay here an extra night even if they do release him tomorrow. He needs to be comfortable for the 300 mile drive home.

Got to take a shower and get ready to be picked up by Enterprise so this will be short.

It must have rained last night because every thing is wet but I don't think it ever dried up yesterday. It is very hazy. We have a cold front coming through tomorrow or Sunday and the Weather Channel says a low of 29 Sunday night. I hope it doesn't get that low. They are sure getting a lot of snow out West. Hope that helps with California's drouth.

Carolb, I hope the news on Tigg is good. I don't like it when they have to sedate one of my animals. Stinky probably needs her teeth cleaned but the vet didn't say anything. He is usually pushing that. She gets so upset just having to go to the vet.

Sarah, sorry you didn't win the lottery. Two people in South Louisiana won $1,000,000. I bet they are kicking themselves because they didn't spend the extra $1. When they voted the lottery in it was suppose to help the schools. I can't tell that has happened. At least we have bus pick up for the kids. I was surprised when Judy said Napa doesn't have school buses.

Harold went off with the guy he was with the last time he got hurt. Hope they don't get in any trouble.

Judy, hope your son gets better soon. Good idea to stay close to where he had surgery in case he has a problem. I had to take Harold to the local ER after his last surgery. I was trying to tell them what he had done and what his doctor said needed to be done. They weren't listening to me at all. I won't see a doctor in Abbeville because I don't want to go to the hospital here.

Guess I better get moving. I need to go to Walmart. Hope I can remember my list this time.

Dull misty day here. I managed to get a few errands done this morning. Just relaxing now before I attack the dust bunnies.
Sue, it would be great to have a PA gtg. I am only an hour from Gettysburg so if you decide on there I could join you. If I remember correctly, Lori and Ernie are not far from therre too. You said that you are interested in CW history, there are many sites near me.... Antietam, and Monocacy to name a couple. The schools get out mid-June here so earlier in the month would be better. Let me know if I can be of any help. Brenda

Too late for coffee but wanted to check in. Everything still wet here. Judy, sounds like your son is doing better. You are all in my thoughts. Tina, hope your rig stays dry. Carol, hope Tigg is OK. I'm in for the rest of the day after running errands this morning. Found a guy who will do the winter trimming and take out the dead shrubs in the backyard for a reasonable price. That's a huge relief. In an article about downsizing, I read this thought, "Thinking about selling everything in the house felt overwhelming. But giving away everything felt like fun." I'm paraphrasing. Other articles say that I can expect to get about ten cents on the dollar for furniture and other large household items. Hmmm....
