Gmorning all!
Wow, slow moving storm has finally hit the east--not here in FL (maybe rain in No FL?), but I see my NY home is getting it. Anita & Liz, did you enjoy your "white" Cmas, something different for a change? Sue & Barbie & other midwesterners, hope you are dug out of all that snow? Sarah, glad you have good reports about Magic, but I understand the "anxiety" until you see for yourself. Ava, thanks for checking on me--been busy with sis, so have not responded to emails or texts!
Yep, sis arrived at her farm, horses in tow, on Sunday evening. She actually noticed much of the cleaning I'd done here at her little "barn apartment," & she seemed genuinely pleased:) Her DH will be arriving tmrw, so in the meantime, we are enjoying "sister time." Funny thing, she's so much more enjoyable when it's just the two of us, so even when her DH is here, it kind of throws in wrench in the mix, or whatever that expression is...
Anyway, looks like this horrible storm system will be long gone by the time I leave here on Friday, the first! What a great way to start my new year--starting my trip west:) Have had such a wonderful time here with forum family in FL, looking forward to seeing more of you along the way (Martha, Carolyn!) & in the desert!
Y'all have a great day & be safe always

Good Morning Carol and all,
Nope, not dug out yet Carol. Storm warning still in effect here yet. At moment it's more of a rain than snow. But we have enough, at least close to a foot I would say. Have only been out Lind enough to shovel Molly a path off deck as poor dog is up to her tummy in drifted snow and can't find her way off it. It is very heavy wet snow, so is going to take time to clear it.
Glad you are enjoying "sister time". Few more days and off you go. Be careful on your route as lots of flooding going on now. Has not been a nice Christmas for many people. They are saying this is the deadliest storm since 1953. Now heading east.
So guess I will have my work cut out for me later today. Blower is ready. Not rushing out there though, will let things calm down. But I know phones will be ringing off the hook at local resorts and motels this morning and snow starved winter sports folks especially snowmobilers, will be pouring in. The "white gold" has arrived.

Good morning Carol and all who follow. [Sue slipped in there while I was typing. You, too, Sue!]Still Texas-style cold here, around freezing last night. I even left the heat on for the dogs. Some of you have met Olive but no one has met Matty, the newest addition. He's 6 pounds of hair and spring loaded. One of these days I'll post pics. Woke up around 4:00, couldn't get back to sleep, so got up and put the coffee on. Errands and housekeeping today. Still not feeling 100%, so I'll be happy to keep it low and slow.
Found more water in storage bay after last rain. Oh well.
Carol, sure wish I was heading west with you. Q seems like a must do at least once.
Safe travels to all. Stay warm and dry.
Nikki

Good morning everyone... it still going to be above normal temperatures here in Central Florida probably a record breaker here in Melbourne today.... safe travels to everyone coming and going.... today I think I will work on cleaning out the Back Bay and preparing it for any other spur of the moment trips anyway it will be ready for Hardee Lakes in 3 weeks .... yesterday when Pheebe started to growl at my dad I told her no and put my down in front of her and she backed off and stopped... so maybe that is a tiny bit of progress... on her papers no was one word that they said she understood... I know I haven't posted pictures yet of her here but I did make a blog post the other day so you can go to my blog and check out her pictures... have a good one....donna

Good frosty morning, all!
We're going to be heading home to Milwaukee from Michigan today, getting a late start because of our little winter weather adventure. We are staying at a hotel about a mile from my brother-in-law's house, but we couldn't even get back to the hotel last night! The snow is icy crystals which tended to slide over one another rather than pack down, preventing traction. House is on a "private road" out in the sticks which means no service, no salt, no plowing. Our attempt to get back to the hotel last night was a no-go, after first having the "kids" (twenty-to-thirty year-olds) shovel out the inclined driveway to the road, three tries to get up a small grade to make a curve, and backing up a quarter mile back to the house, we settled in by the fire with another glass of wine. People slept all over the house, as it was already full, and we, the overflow, were supposed to be at the hotel. This morning we got up, got out to the hotel, ate the "free" breakfast, now are showering and getting ready to hit the road for home. Will feel good to sleep in my own bed tonight!
So glad for the good news on Magic, and that everyone else is somewhere safe and warm.
Eileen

Good Morning All, Sarah, thanks for the update on Magic. That was good news.
I saw my "knee Surgeon" last evening. I will have a knee replacement...however, no dates yet. I just may get out to Q for a few days because I have to wait for phone calls from surgery scheduling to find out dates. If there is enough time between phone call and date of surgery, I will drive out to Q.
It is clear and sunny here. (so, what else is new?) Altho cold...only 48* this morning. We did have some light sprinkles yesterday.
Donna, interesting about the latest with Phoebe. I do like her new name.
Nikki, a new dog? How does Marty get along with Olive. I hope much, much better than Scarlet. Olive is such a sweet dog.
My daughter's dog, Benji, continues to attack my cat Zipper. I watch him very closely, and am quite patient with him. Just remove him from the bedroom when he barks at her. I know it will get better as time goes on.
Off to Wal-Mart today and the library. Some how I have lost another library card. New one only costs a dollar, however, if I keep losing them, those $$$ will add up.

Good morning, all! Glad I am not in the storms or snow.
I had my ophthalmologist appointment yesterday. Unfortunately, she saw some small spots in my retina and a tiny area near the nerve that looked a little raised. Not very clear, however, because I have the beginnings of cataracts, so she wants to schedule a dye test. The big problem is that we are headed to Disneyland on Sunday and will be there through next week. Son is bringing his trailer and I am hosting his mother-in-law. They only do the tests on Friday, so I will have to cut my San Diego trip short and come back here, which is a lot of driving I did not want to do. My plans were to head directly to Anza Borrego State park and then on to Las Vegas to meet up with an old friend who is staying there with her husband. I can still make it to Anza Borrego and Las Vegas after my dye test.
Then, she wants to see me in 4-6 weeks to compare the spots. This will mean driving back from Las Vegas Feb 4-8 and then heading to the Phoenix area!!! I had thought about leaving my RV in LV and then flying back but decided I wanted my home with me in case she decided I needed more treatment of some sort. So more driving. Anyway, canceling a few reservations and doing a bit of driving is worth my vision!!!!
Son and family are on their way to pick me up. We are heading to the Science museum in SF for the day. (Can't remember the name, darn!)

Good Morning from Kartchner Caverns near Benson, AZ where snowflakes are falling. I don't think they are a threat.
Liz and I arrived yesterday and Sandi found us right away. I was up at sunrise this morning, but when the gals knocked to see if I wanted to walk at 10 a.m., I was still in jammies! Not a morning person! Plus dealing with trailer issues online and phone calls - gettin' there. Liz told me my right turn signal was flashing funny - I took the connector apart and cleaned off the dirt so hoping that was the problem. I do have an appointment Monday in Tucson to have this 'mess' taken care of.
We have signed up for one of the cavern tours Thursday.
Lyn, certainly hoping you'll make it to Q!! Carolb, hoping all the weather is out of your way when you head our way! Nikki, are you sure your rig doesn't want a trip?? JudyJB, some of the adventures of being on the road when things aren't quite going well.
I have the newest J.D. Robb book from the library so I think it is time to read it! Everyone have a great day, stay safe in storm areas!

Glad to hear Magic is OK.
Where I am (just west of Minneapolis) we only got an inch or two of the snow. South and east of the cities got 8-10 inches, so quite a difference depending on your location.
Worked for a few hours this morning and then went to the dentist for my crown. Now I am done with the dentist for awhile! Yay!
Back to work now for the evening.
Have a good one!
