Good Morning all,

Winter Storm Goliath continues to pound the country this morning, heading east now to let loose on those of us who haven't felt it's wrath. Winter Storm Warnings posted for almost all of MI. Snow, sleet, freezing rain heading in. Think those in IL are now getting hit. I'm in an area where we expect snow and some freezing rain. Riding the line between the heavier snow or just a few inches, but tno matter, it will be a mess. Some areas a bit farther down still haven't gotten power back from the Wednesday night storm last week and now freezing rain is moving in on them. I don't envy the power crews who have been working since Christmas Eve day trying to restore lost power in a lot of places. Probably have to start all over again. Guess all we can do is just hunker down wherever we are and wait it all out. Hope Sarah finds out if Magic is okay. When this is all over, hope everybody reports in so we know you are all okay. So many areas being affected.

So guess I will run to town this morning and do some banking, pick up a couple of things from store and then head home. Molly and I might be able to get our daily walk in before it hits as not expected here till mid afternoon. Then we will just stay in and watch it do whatever. I am prepared just in case power goes out. Nothing I can do against anything else. Birds have a full feeder etc.

Sounds like everybody had a nice Christmas and weekend. Some of us with big gatherings, lots of food and merriment and others nice and quiet. Waiting to hear if anybody got anything really neat for that RV or whatever.

Well, am heading off here. Nothing new around here, so wishing all of you a safe, dry if out of the storm's path day. Rest of us, well, we just hunker down and wait.

Good morning Sue and all... I took Pheebe for a very short walk this morning basically just in front of the house and we still ran into problems with neighbor riding her bike she tried to stop and talk but its impossible she told me about a place here in Melbourne that is a behavioral dog training place I'm going to check it out.... I am fearful of going to the GTG in January because it will not be very pleasant she is not a sociable dog at all.... I did find some food that she likes I went to a small mom and pop place and they gave me a bunch of samples she didn't like any of it .... but the day before Cynthia aka miss mermaid gave me some Newman's Own organic dog food I can't find it anywhere so I'm going to have to order it from Amazon... she's going to give me a little more until I can get mine in... I've never been through anything like this with a dog and I'm having a little bit of a hard time.... other news I had a very nice and busy December and Christmas its not been like this for many years and I really enjoyed my family visiting and all the time I got to spend with Carolb.... I need to get the rig prepared for traveling it was not ready when I went to the Everglades on the spur of the moment so I need to do a better job I will be working on that this week.... it's really hot in Central Florida we are having unusual weather too but its the opposite of all the snow and ice and rain is hot I really don't think we are going to have any real cold snap here this year... well I better get busy I have a lot to do today.... have a good one ...donna

Good morning all. We are under a winter advisory here too, Sue. Looks like it's supposed to move in later today with sleet and ice. So I imagine we'll have power outages too. I been thinking of Sarah and Magic too. Just hoping everything turns out okay. Donna, hang in there. It'll take time but your pup can learn to trust.

I'm glad I went to the store yesterday! So today I think I'll just tuck in and do stuff here in the house. Got some split peas so may put on a pot of soup. A good day for it! Liz and Anita, hope you guys are staying warm. NM doesn't look good right now according to TWC. Lots of roads closed! Right now I'm glad I didn't uncover Lola and take off! Those nice days made it tempting! But wimp that I am didn't think it was a good idea!

Coffee is about done so better get moving! Hoping you are all staying safe and warm.

Morning Sue, Donna and all who follow. It's cold this morning; that would be the Texas version of cold, Sue. It's supposed to warm up and be sunny the rest of the day. Once everything dries up from yesterday's rain, I'll check the rv for leaks. Oh joy.

Donna, I've been where you are with Pheebe. You can only do what you can do. Big hugs.

Hope everybody stays safe and dry.

Nikki

We're in Michigan for family holiday gathering, and staying put until tomorrow. Weather should settle down a little by then for our 5 hour drive. If not, we COULD stay an extra day, but you know what they say about houseguests: just like fish, after 3 days they start to stink up the place. So we'd rather leave tomorrow. It's wonderful to see all the little ones and play with them but, dear me, they are loud...for those without children it's exhausting. But, there's always wine, and it' five-o-clock somewhere, right?
Still worrying and praying for Sarah and Magic, hope all turns out well. Those on the road: be safe, stay between the lines. Everyone else: hunker down and be warm.
Eileen

Good morning to all - glad we are here in Mexico where the weather is almost perfect. Not hot - high of 72 today - not cold and not humid. Yesterday we had quite a bit of wind and the ocean was really disturbed but can't complain about that.
Willie, our Jeep, decided he needed a Christmas present so he is sitting next to us with several of his parts removed. Needs a new fuel pump. He has well over 105,000 miles on him so guess he deserves it. The pump had to be ordered from Chihuahua - should be here tomorrow. We have an excellent mechanic who does the work right here in the RV Park. Luckily that is where Willie decided he didn't want to run any more.
So for a day or two we will be making use of the excellent public transportation here in Mazatlan.
What strange weather in the states. Our see our old hometown in Indiana is warmer than our new home town Vegas...
Yesterday we took a pulmonia - to the market and a taxi home. Today maybe I'll be able to get Bill on one of the fun buses here.

Good morning ladies
Its very cold here too but at least it will warm up a little with the sunshine. Wondering how Sandi is as she headed south to meet up with Liz in southeast AZ and wondering if Liz and Anita were able to get out of Deming yet. The weather is weird and frightening. Hope Carolb is safe from the storm too.
Son came over yesterday, spent quite a bit of time cleaning out the shed and rearranging, did weeds and hauled some stuff. Topped it all off with a trip to Denny's.
He's suppose to come back sometime this week and help me get started on painting the kitchen and living room. I'm doing a trip to home depot today to get a shrub I want planted for privacy between me and the guy next door. I can't remember the name but its common down here and I'll know it when I see it.
About time to get some breakfast, y'all have a great day and please be safe.

Rain Rain go away!!! I'm afraid to go to the basement, I can't swim :D It has rained here for about three days now almost constantly. Some people, down in what is called 'the bottoms', about 25 miles away, near the river are starting to evacuate.
Mitzi could care less about the rain and it is hard to get her inside from potti trips. I finally just left her out this AM as it isn't too cold and went back to bed for about 15 minutes. She was on the back porch jumping up and down like a bouncing ball when I went to see about her. I doubt she learned a lesson but I felt better.
I went to one store briefly yesterday afternoon and it was not crowded at all, first time I've been shopping other than small shops sinceThanksgiving.
A funny from our Christmas morning, I bought DH a Hydro Flask bottle and included a bottle brush in the sack. He unwrapped the brush, gave me a puzzled look and with a sheepish grim said, am I not keeping my toilet clean enough? I told him to take another look in the bag.
I'm been immersed in Ancestry .com and found out so many things about my my family. One gg grandfather donated the land for one of the nearby towns to be established and the gg grandfather from the other side, made possible the train that connected it with another town. One of my greats was a scout with George Rogers Clark and one built the jail in a small town and became the first prisoner!
I hope all who are in the bad storms stay safe and warm and that Sarah finds out about Magic soon.

Good Morning~

I think about 11 o'clock, Liz and I will pull out of Deming! One more cuppa and I'll get packed up.

BJ, such fun finds on Ancestry!! I no longer have enough data to belong, but I made great finds. I did get on familysearch.org a little more than I should so data was getting pretty low by the last day.

You all stay safe with this crazy weather!

Can I start whining about it being cold because it's 30 degrees colder than yesterday? Probably not because it's still in the 50's. The front got here about 12:30 last night and we only got 3/4 of an inch of rain. I sure hope Alabama doesn't get dumped on again.

Facebook is full of pictures of pets being found and being looked for in Texas. One thing that Katrina taught is that pet shelters need to be set up where there are disasters. I see many pictures of dogs with collars and no tags. There are many places that you can order collars that will embroidery a name and phone number onto a collar. I have some for the barn cats. It's hard to keep them on cats because they are made to be quick release but the dog collars have buckles. I have taken a permant laundry marker and put our phone number on a white flea collar. We found one of our cats because of this. She went home with someone in a horse trailer and his neighbor found her.

I need to clean my motorhome and take the Christmas decorations out from my last campout. I don't have anything planned but want to be ready in case something comes up. There is a campout planned the end of January in North Louisiana but I haven't made reservations. It's at a state park so I don't think a reservation will be a problem. I am going to wait and see what the weather is like. I'm not camping if it's freezing.

Just getting in under the wire here; holy cow it's nasty outside in IL right now! Feels like little needles hitting you all over.

DH put dogs outside in their pen (it's covered with a roof and has 2 large dog houses and rubber matting for the ground) at 6 when he left for work and I just brought them inside now. Horses never even went outside; I just fed, watered and cleaned stalls around them. They're pretty happy to be in the barn today.

Cancelled my dog walks for today last night with texts to the owners. I don't drive when it's freezing rain or sleet. And none of the dogs want to walk in it with me either. So far it's been alternating between rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow. And the wind is getting stronger.

Hope everyone is safe wherever they are.
Kathy

Yep we are also under a winter storm warning here. Up to a foot or so predicted by tomorrow and with the colder temps, this time it won't be a rain/snow mix and won't be melting on the ground like the storm last week. Winter is here!

Things are really slow now at work so am sort of on call today. Might work tonight so my manager can go home early before the snow starts. She lives an hour away so has a long commute out in the country.

Nothing else much new here. Supposed to get my new crown finally tomorrow. Come hell or high snow drifts, I WILL get there! The temporary crown is sitting too low and keeps hitting the lower tooth and that hurts.

I think I figured out my health insurance. I think I have been switched from MN low income insurance to Obamacare insurance (which I thought I was already on but not). So I will still be insured but just with a different insurance plan. It is all very confusing!

Hope you are all safe, warm, and hunkered down for the bad weather!

Just a quick check-in to give you news on Magic:
Some of the staff got into the park by boat yesterday. They have informed me they do not believe Magic or any of the other RVs parked on the little hill received any water damage. The TN River did crest at Ditto today in spite of more rain but it will be sometime next week before I can get in to see for myself as the river will remain above flood stage thru the weekend. Will probably take a few more days beyond that for ground to dry out enough to move her. Even tho I probably won't feel comfortable about everything until I see for myself. However I am feeling very lucky relieved and thankful tonight.
For the first time in a long while, there is NO rain in tomorrows forecast but it is turning cold.
Thank all of you for thinking of me and Magic during all this stressful flooding. Many roads are still closed but enough open for me to get to places I typically need to go without any trouble except for the campground.
Learned a couple of interesting things from local news broadcast like
1 inch of rain over 1 sq mi produces 17 million gallons of water
If it had been cold enough Christmas day for snow the amount of rain we had would have produced 83 inches of the white stuff.

Good news Sarah. Hope they are right about Magic. Hopefully we won't have any more storms for a while.
