Morning Donna and Phoebe and all who follow,
Finished up my Christmas pet sit last visit this morning with the Beagle boy and his kitty friend. Very good furbabies! Now I am sitting here eating my own breakfast (the last of the cinnamon swirl bread and coffee) before I go to the barn for turnout and stalls. DH and his pup are off chasing the wild geese.
Well, I got turned around yesterday with errands and never got anything done as far as cleaning house. So with most of today open, guess that is what I will do. Unless DH comes up with an alternate plan.
New Year's Day we will be starting off with one of our favorite things around here: a gtg! Not sure how many will attend but we'll be cooking anyway! DH just can't let a holiday go by without a party.
Time to go to the barn and turn out horses. Everyone take care,
Kathy

Good morning,
Have few minutes before leaving for church. Watching Weather Channel and this is big dangerous storm heading east across U.S. Blizzards, ice storms, tornadoes, flooding etc. Hopre those of you n affected areas are hunkered down and stay safe till it's over. Liz and Anita made the right moves for sure. Watched live streaming of the horrible tornado that hit near Dallas area last night. My brain was hollering stop to the drivers on I-30 as it approached. First time I have watched a nighttime one backlit by lightening and then totally lit by the city lights of Garfield, TX. I thank God every day that the storm that hit he campground in Kennebec, SD where I was, did not spawn a tornado. The 90 mph winds were bad enough.
Nothing on agenda today. Afternoon walk and maybe start scrapbook. But right now gotta go. Have a safe day all.

Thistle says, "Whee! Anybody want to come out and play?" I bet Peaches would.
High winds all night and blowing snow. Only about an inch on the ground except where it drifted. Blue skies this morning, but still cold winds.
We are warm inside.

A white, windy Good Morning,
The worst of this overnight was the wind - which isn't going to let up any time soon! Of course, it is coming from the side so rockin'! My thermometer says 29 outside. I have been worrying about roads and ice, but I forget that some places have 'dry' snow so it blows instead of hanging around. From here I can see a lot where several semis have parked - will be interesting to see when they head out again.
Kathy, I like your hubby's attitude - it's a holiday, let's party! Sue, I watched some of that tornado live last evening as well and thought how foolish those on the road were. From one experience tho, I know sometimes while driving, we don't know about the weather. I pulled into Kansas one time too far before I learned there was a tornado watch.
Sarah, concerned about Magic. The unknown is stressful. Ava, not a whole lot of snow - just enough to make it white.
Hope you all have a good day and stay safe!

Good morning, everyone. Woke up to howling wind, torrential rain, and thunder. The storm that was supposed to be here on Xmas day finally arrived. Then I heard Olive bark and thought it sounded odd, too far away. Well, I locked her out last night. I think I'm just a wee bit preoccupied. Sheesh. It was warm and if she'd been uncomfortable, she would have barked like crazy, so I would have heard her. She was soaked and hungry when she came in, but no damage done. She's safe and has shelter in the backyard.
I hope all of you on the road are parked somewhere safe and dry. Sue, I didn't know about the tornado near Dallas until I read your post. I'll have to check the weather sites as soon as I log off here. I don't watch TV, so no weather channels to check.
Kathy, your life fascinates me. All those animals. I've never been around horses. Sue, I often wonder what it would be like to live where the winter is really cold. If the temp falls below 70F in Texas the women with big hair pull out their furs. First time I saw that, in the Houston airport, I about fell over. Now it's just normal Texas.
On January 1, Texas's open carry law goes into effect. I get to do my grocery shopping next to gun toting rednecks. Yeehaw! (That is not a political statement. It's tongue in cheek, my dry sense of humor. So please, no offended rednecks. I like rednecks.)
Liz and Anita, you posted while I was composing. Wow! Snow, anyone?
I'll have to read about what's going on with Magic. I think that's Sarah's rig. Right?

Good morning all. Another rainy day here but happily it isn't snow! Liz and Nan, looks like a winter wonderland but at least you are safe and off the roads. Mr. D finally went outside this morning, guess he really needed to "go". Last night he just wouldn't step out the door into the rain. Crazy dog, loves the snow but not rain! Donna, glad your pup is responding to her new name.
I had a nice day on Christmas. Lunch with son and family and then visit to hospital. My friend's DH had knee replacement on Thursday and was unhappy they wouldn't discharge him Friday. He came home yesterday and finally got a few hours of uninterrupted sleep! Made a huge difference in his attitude! By the time I got home Friday I was ready to just spend a quiet evening! Had a glass of wine and a good book!
I've been watching TWC this morning and hoping everyone is out of the danger zones of this crazy weather. Stay safe and warm today.

Good morning everyone. I just finished my last shift of this contract. IF I lose my mind and think I want to take another contract right now someone please shoot me. I am looking forward to being home and getting some stuff done. Going to hook up with Malia (for those of you that know her) as she is parked just up the freeway from me. Saw her when she was here by my assignment so we are planning another little GTG.
Going to dump and flush the tanks this afternoon or early morning if it is not pouring, otherwise it will keep for a while. Planning on leaving here Mon or Tues and heading to 7Feathers for an overnighter then if all the passes are clear I will just jet on down the freeway to home. I also need to coordinate with my RV place to winterize my rig as it is going to be low 20's and possible down to 18 or 19.
Freezing level is dropping so the passes might be an issue but no worries at least I can hunker down and I am NOT working. Will miss the paychecks tho LOL
Hope everyone in the horrible crazy weather stay safe and are able to get where they are going or hibernate at home.
Looking forward to 2016 it is going to be a GREAT year I just know it.

Well, guess I chose the absolute worst time to take Serendipity out for a few days! I'm heading later today for a local casino that has a lovely RV park. However, my outdoor thermometer said it was 30 degrees when I went out for my Sunday paper this morning! WHAT? This is Southern California, after all. Then I opened the paper and it says rain possible for tonight and tomorrow - and more cold! I tested Sere's furnace yesterday when I pulled her into the driveway for packing. Yea! Works great. I suppose I won't need to pay the $10 deposit for the pool gate key! I'm a wimp in the cold (which is why I live here and not back in New England where, by the way, it's been warmer than California lately!). I'll just have to suck it up and do a lot of reading, needlework, and Heaven forbid, cleaning. And be glad I'm not with the gals in Deming!

Good morning, everyone.
Looks like we have quite the mixture of weather going on. Love seeing pics of Thistle enjoying the snow & love it even more that the sun is shining here & the only mention of snow is in the mountains. Hope that Sarah & Magic are ok as well as everyone else in the path of this crazy storm.
We had a nice quiet Christmas - my DD came up from San Diego & stayed with me. Her beau went back to France while they wait for his visa to be approved. Met his mother via FaceTime - she seems very nice. Enjoyed seeing how often DD & he are in touch with each other - they try to be together even though they are on separate continents.
Baby Olivia gave me the greatest gift of all - when we went to my son's house Christmas morning, she was so delighted to see me & wiggled & reached for me as soon as she saw me - really made my day! I adore that baby!
Getting back to normal today - clean up the apartment, do laundry & enjoy the sunshine.
Praying that you are all safe, warm & dry.
Take care, Catherine

Liz, the snow pictures are beautiful viewed from our 82 degree temperature.
The front is suppose to get here tonight but it's almost to the state line so may be earlier. Sure hope we don't get the tornados Texas had but there is a red box along the state line. There are pictures on Facebook of a campground in Garland, TX that was hit by a tornado. What a mess. Looks like a bunch of trailers were destroyed. The post said no one was injured but I don't know how.
OMG, yesterday was not the day to go shopping. I think everyone in Lafayette was out. Sam's was the least crazy of any where I stopped. I broke down and bought a box of Sam's Apple Fritters. I happy to say they are not as good as Walmart's so I won't have to buy them again. At Walmart I can just buy one when I think I have to have one. Ten minutes in Hobby Lobby was enough. I only wanted some medium size gift bags but it was a fight to get down an aisle. I grabbed 4 bags and got the heck out of there. It started to sprinkle so I headed home.
Nicky, I have to have a head count every night to make sure the house cats are in. Pinky is the only one that makes enough noise to get in. It sounds like she is tearing the storm door down. They left Posse out one night when I was gone and I know she wasn't happy. I'm not a fan of guns and if I see someone with a gun I leave. I can remember when almost every pickup had a gun in a gun rack in the back window. Today it would be stolen in 5 minutes. There is a shooting within 50 miles of me everyday. I'm sure it's much worse than that in big cities.
I hope Sarah's motorhome doesn't flood. I know she is anxious to get some news.
Martha
