On The Road Monday

Morning all,

Just a quick hi and then I am going to finish packing my stuff and hit the road here. All's ready except the food heading to the cooler. It's cold out there this morning, so won't have to worry about that stuff getting warm on the drive. Looks like it's going to be a bit of a snowy commute for a while here. Mostly up over the bridge in the eastern U.P.. But once past that should be okay. It's called drive SLOW. And this time of year, traffic is almost zilch up there.

Anita, glad to see you post yesterday, so we know how you are doing. Don't remember off hand what else is going on out in RV land right now though. Most I think are getting ready to Thanksgiving.

Okay, I"m going to get a move on. Need to put out trash for pickup and load the bird feeder, the throw the stuff in truck and off we go. Daylight is coming in, so that's good. Want to make a quick breakfast stop at a BK or MickyD's. You all have a nice safe, warm, dry and whatever day out there :D

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, have a safe and fun trip! Can't wait to hear from you once you get settled!

It's 39 degrees in Ocala this morning and we'll warm up to about 66 this afternoon. At least the sun is shining again, as we've had a good bit of rain the last few days. We found Carolb! Or I should say she found us! LOL! I was talking to her on the phone yesterday and she was sitting in our yard at the campground! We had no idea she was coming and thought she was still driving in circles somewhere. She'll be meeting up with Anita soon and lots of others once she makes her way west. Here's wishing all of you a wonderful day!

Good morning Sue, Irmi and Donna and all who follow

Safe travels Sue and Molly! Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving visit up north. Irmi, good to see you posting again. And a surprise visit from Carolb how fun! Donna! You sure can keep a good secret! Running around in the wilds of FL with Carolb sounds like you had fun too!

Average day here today. Temps are due to warm up over the coming week so snow should melt. We will be spending our Thanksgiving with friends this year instead of cooking our own.

All three dogs are inside for today until it warms up and they are bored bored bored! Molly keeps bringing me her Kong toy so I put a treat in it. It's a kind of a game we've always played. I put a tasty something inside the toy and she works on getting it out. She used to bring me her toy truck tire, until Shooter chewed it up. Now it's the Kong toy. Doesn't last very long though, she knows just how to get it out.

That's about all from here. Need to run to Wally world for some mouse traps to put around Angel at the shop. Never got out this past weekend to pick them up.

Everyone take care,
Kathy

Good morning everyone! Just returned yesterday from a 4-day outing at a gorgeous desert RV resort with my camping club. It was our annual Christmas outing so we probably got a few raised eyebrows with our holiday finery and even some outdoor displays! I held open house for everyone to tour Serendipity and was surprised when all 40 people brought chairs and sat around my patio sipping the wine, champagne, and the snacks I put out. They came inside by twos or threes - couldn't fit many more than that in my little Pleasure Way. But it was gratifying to hear everyone say what a great choice I made and Sere was perfect for this little old lady to drive.

Gorgeous weather, beautiful surroundings, good friends, and a Christmas party where my grab bag gift was a hanging fold up ditty bag that will be perfect in my teeny bathroom to hold toothpaste, jewelry, lotions, shampoo, etc. What more could I ask?

Have a super Thanksgiving, everyone!

Pooker

Good Morning All, I believe I am the laziest woman on the Forum! All I did yesterday is put one clean sheet in the Cozy Camper. On the bed, that is. Then read all day. Today I go get the knees x-rayed. Maybe a knee replacement is in my future. They have been so sore lately.
Stay safe all who are traveling, and those who are working around the house! Lyn

Good Morning!

Lyn, that's not lazy, that's you enjoying what you like and well deserved! Sorry about the knee. Evie, so glad you are happy with your new rig! Donna, Carolb is a great travel companion! Sounds like you had a great time. Irmi, surprise! :o

Predicted freezing temps overnight did not happen here, and it's a beautiful but cold day.

While I was at Wendy's, we watched 'Tiny Houses' and now I have gotten myself addicted to other house/property shows! We renovated two houses and built a third so that sort of thing has always interested me.

Think I'll try to do some more organizing in the truck cab today - real exciting.

Have a good day everyone and safe travels.

Mornin ladies

Lucky Sue on the way north. Drive save & have fun. Know Molly will if there is tons of snow. Busy day for Donna and Anita today. Maybe Donna is helping you out Lyn in a remote, trying to help way. When you ladies are done with yours, stop by my house. Just sayin' ... :D

What a great surprise Irmi! Carolb stopping by and Donna keeping a good secret.

Is nice to see Vicki post a question about dingys. Nice to see her again. And of course I had to bookmark the link MelissaD posted. Like I told Melissa in Shipshewana, sure wish I could learn some of her smarts by osmosis.

On vacation this week, well it's short anyway since they give us Friday off. Used to do Christmas shopping but we haven't exchanged presents in years, but I still play hooky. Doing some remote conference calls (stupid project) as needed and taking Mom for a test Wednesday. Still waiting on when to pick up Colt tho.

That's about all. Have a good day & stay safe on the roads.

Evie, good to see you are out with friends enjoying your RV. Speaking of Christmas finery, I need to find my Christmas shirts because I have a Christmas campout December 5th and a party on the 8th. Last year at the campout everyone decorated and served a snack and we all went from rig to rig. I am guessing that will happen again. I need to make something to bring. One night we are having gumbo so we are having a gumbo bowl exchange. Only in Louisiana.

The weather people missed it last night, it only got down to 38 and not freezing. I'm not complaining. It's suppose to start warming up this week.

I have tried to get our Border Collie interested in a toy or ball but all he is interested in are cows. If he barks someone is at the barn or the neighbors are feeding. That's good because many times he as alerted me to the horse being out. It hasn't happened recently but Harold is bad about catching the horse and leaving a gate open. When he puts her in her stall he forgets the gate is open and she can go around.

I wish my younger son would tell me if he or he and his girlfriend are coming for Thanksgiving. She usually makes him go to Baton Rouge with her but he doesn't like to go. I need to get a turkey breast before they are all gone but I don't have much room in the freezer. I'm not sure how long they take to thaw out in the refrigerator.

Lyn, you would have to go some to beat me in the lazy department. I didn't even have to cook yesterday. Good luck with the knees. My sister is having a knee replacement today. I so hope she doesn't have any complications. I hope they will let her go to a rehab place instead of sending her home. Her 2 boys live with her but they aren't much help.

Sue, have a safe trip. I'm glad you like the snow but I only want it in pictures.

Martha

Gafternoon all:)

Ok! Now y'all know why I was so vague about my whereabouts  SO first I have to thank OSharon for keeping the secret from the start--wanted one of the family to know, & also wanted her to know I had a good reason for heading straight south:) Then I really did get sick, so that slowed me down. I was able to surprise Donna! & I really did meet her at the laundromat where she had directed me to go for my laundry day. Then she surprised me by agreeing to join me on my trip to the Everglades:) Sworn to secrecy (& no, not the ax murder I made her out to be :)), we had such a good time! It was really hard for both of us to contain ourselves & not spill the beans! And I'm "telling on" Irmi--she was so surprised, she cried!!!

Lyn, sorry to hear about knee surgery? But people I know who have had it always say they wish they had done it sooner:) Sue, safe travels up north. Fun to hear about the holiday season plans--I've found some radio stations with all Cmas music already, & I love it! All the little towns I've been through are already decked out for the holidays--it almost makes me wish I could see some snow drifting down from the sky!

Just spent time at a really huge dog park in Ocala, now heading back to Irmi's. Boy, does she look good! Skinny Mini! I went to yoga class with her this a.m.

Ok, y'all have a great day, be safe & happy Tday to all in case some of you aren't back here to hear that 8-)
