Good Morning from the Chilly, Frosty 45th,
Another good freeze out there last night. Ground is white with frost. Time to cover shrubs for the winter today. Frost won't hurt them but snow weight can. But then we have an El Nino forecast for a mild winter, so we won't have snow, right?
So you can see what today's project will be. Also planning to install the newly repaired and painted birdfeeder. Birds will like this one as it's bigger and has a bigger roof for them to get under in lousy weather. Be interesting to see how the squirrels figure this one out Being it's mounted on a PVC pipe, they have no grip once they get up the pole, even if they do, to grab a hold of it as it will be wider than the current one. But it's fun watching them try and I'm sure one will figure something out
Carolb, you are making good progress heading south. So is JudyJB. Anita, where are you are present?
Nothing else to report from this location, so hope you all have ea nice, safe, productive day today

Good Morning from Meridian, Mississippi! Home of the iHop parking lot sink hole! I read about it but didn't know it was here until Wendy told me.
It was a cool, dreary day yesterday, but I think I may see sun today! Today I move on to Marshall, Texas until Saturday. At that time I will move to Thousand Trails near Red for 3 weeks.
Makes me cold just reading about your weather, Sue!
Have a good day everyone and safe travels!

Checking from for a semi-warm North Central Florida..... 61 degrees now and expected to be in the mid to high 70's today. Weather is a welcomed relief from the high 80's and still running my house a/c!!! Today activities.... having a 25 year old root canal repaired (got infected 3 weeks ago and still giving me trouble). Should take about an hour and cost around 1,200 (just the repair mind you). Not bad money for an hour labor and materials....
Thanks Mitch for posting the corn thing-a-ma-gig in recipes -- it's gonna by my addition to Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's house!!!
Enjoy your day.....

Good morning from slightly cooler, but still muggy McIntosh, FL. Tried to go without AC, but have it running now after going for a walk and doing a couple chores outside. I took a few more pictures of my new, more accessible, sewer connections and added them to my RV upgrade post in the Maintenance/Tech thread.
This afternoon I go for my second laser treatment, this time the left eye, to get rid of scar tissue that formed behind my implant. Quick procedure and it made a big difference on the right eye, so was needed. I'm assured the scar tissue will not form again.
Tomorrow I pull out of this cg and will be going to Hillsborough State Park through the weekend to visit with dd and family. Then back here for a couple more appointments on the 16th and 17th, and hopefully I will be free to travel after that. Will go to north GA until after Thanksgiving. Anita, if you stay put for three weeks, I may catch up with you in Texas.
Sue, be sure to take some pictures of the squirrel antics...that would be fun to see. Ouch on the root canal, Patsy....both the procedure and the cost! I had an emergency crown done last spring...to the tune of $1200, so know how that feels.
Safe travels to all today.

Liz, I will be in Texas until about January 10. After the 3 weeks near Red, I'll be about 40 miles west of San Antonio until the day after Christmas. After that I'll be somewhere until a Gospel Festival in Rockport starts January 7.

Good morning gals,
Well, that ol' colic bug hit my other horse Tank on Sunday afternoon. So had to call vet back out (haven't gotten a look at the bill yet but I'm sure it's more than Cody's; Tank was after hours on a Sunday) and it was walking, walking, walking all afternoon and into the night. Then up every couple hours to check on him from 9 o'clock on. Yesterday he recuperated in his stall and hated it. Today he is back outside with Cody and a much happier horse. Vet says it is just older horses and change in the weather that causes it.
Got Pony all covered up with her tarps, man that was a job! Took me an hour to get the second one on and secured. Need to make a new plan for getting that thing up and over the top of her if she's still here next fall. Every time I'd get one corner on and move to the next one, the first one slid off.
Finishing up putting patio things away today since it will be a nice day here. Only one or two still need finding a place for in the barn.
Angel must have a leaky water tank, all her pink stuff has drained out. Hope the stuff's still in her water lines but it's not really too much of an issue as soon she'll be inside. Will crawl underneath her today and try to determine where the leak's coming from. Pretty strange because before I put the pink in she didn't leak. Would have noticed it on the driveway.
That's all from here for now. Everyone take care.
Kathy

Sitting in my motorhome in San Antonio waiting for Colleen and Birdie to stop by. We are headed to downtown San Antonio today and the riverwalk! Yea! Will be great to see them.
Also, this morning I did the almost impossible--I got a reservation at Bahia Hondo State Park in the Florida Keys ON THE WATERFRONT!! Had to get up at 6:30 am and hit the select this site buttons four seconds before they opened! There were five sites available on the water and I got three of them, so could take a minute and make my choice before I released the others. That campground is absolutely impossible later in the winter, so I decided that next year I would head there in October. Next step is to get a site at Curry Hammock down the road from Bahia Hondo in ten days!! Really bad part is that I have to pay for all of these ahead of time.
I'll be headed even farther west on Thursday morning. Will be nice to get to a dry place for a change!!

Anita, good thing you weren't hungry for pancakes.
We had a bad dining experience at one of the local I-Hops a while back so we wouldn't have been there. If someone says I-Hop we both say yuck. Looks like you will have good weather today but the weather channel is saying more rain for East Texas and Louisiana on Wednesday.
Kathy, sorry another horse has colic. I don't know how cold it is there but we had one horse we had problems with ever winter. He must not have liked to drink cold water. When we built the barn I wanted to order freeze proof waterers but no, that was too expensive. We have PVC pipes running all over the barn and there aren't many winters that one doesn't freeze and break even though we try to drain them.
I have to bring Harold for a check up this afternoon. He had an appointment last week but they rescheduled it . I was able to make it for the afternoon so I didn't have to get up at the butt crack of dawn and get involved with all the people going to work. This way we will have the people going home but it won't be dark.

Chilly here this morning also, but temps will be rising again all week - overnight cold, days beautiful.
Lyn was sneaky. She told me no problem if I slept in, she wouldn't leave before Peaches and I came to say goodbye. Sandi waited patiently as I DID sleep in and we took our dogs and walked down to Lyn's site and she was GONE. That sneak. I was so glad she decided to spend some days here, even if I was working all of them. And we did get out to eat TWICE!
Sandi and I are going to head into town shortly (today and tomorrow are my days off) - Sonora - the bigger town - tomorrow we plan to look around Groveland more - so I best get a move on - told her I'd be ready to go about noon and that's quickly coming up!

Either she got itchy feet or she doesn't like goodbyes I guess.

Kathy - Since Angle wasn't leaking before, are you sure you closed the low point drains and water heater drain valve? I ask only because I forgot to close a low point drain once (maybe twice) when winterizing.
We actually had some sun for first time in 11 days. So nice to see it again. Should see it briefly again in the morning, then heavy clouds coming in ahead of storms expected tomorrow night.
Allergies still slowing me down but I've almost finished up preparations for Open House at both antique malls. Think I would have finished yesterday if I had felt just a little better.
Allergy tests set for one week from today. Tomorrow is the last day I can take any on my allergy meds. Really hope stopping meds doesn't result in getting much worse but doctor says they cannot do the test properly if I still have any of the medications still in system.

Yes Sarah, she's not leaking from any of the drains. The leak is up at the city water connection. Don't ask me why or how the pink's going back up that way but I got inside the cabinet and looked and that's where she's leaking from. All three drains are right under the rig just back of the steps and easy to check for drips. None of them are even damp.
