Gmorning all :)

Yikes, Martha, are you flooded? I caught the news report this morning & looks pretty wet your way! A couple more mild days here, then the rain from Patricia hits us by Wed, but not nearly to the extent you're getting it...

Lyn, my heart goes out to your daughter & you. Sounds like the services for SIL brought comfort to all of you...

Ok, you'll have to bear with me as I'm becoming very antsy to be on the road! Already feel my mind drifting to my departure date, having trouble being here "in the moment" !!

Y'all have a great day, be safe, & wishing speedy recovery to all facing health issues...:)

Monday morning again....

Morning gals
Just checking up on what all's been going on here in MC. Hoping everyone's doing well, feeling better if they've been under the weather and keeping dry if they're in the path of the remaining hurricane rain. It's been another busy weekend for me to say the least!

Biggest news of the weekend (for those of you who are on on FB with me) was I bought a new Dodge Durango on Saturday. Got rid of the black lemon (they didn't give me much of a trade in but at least I didn't have to try to sell it myself) and then I signed my life away! It was a little scary when I realized I was doing this deal completely on my own; I've bought cars by myself before but they were strictly cash deals. This time I had to finance and DH was not with me. It's all on me. Today I need to get the insurance on it and a few other things. My friend Karen went with me for moral support and she keeps telling me that the Durango is bigger than the Jeep. I said, no way; but really it is-the Durango has 3 rows of seats! And when I put the last row down to make room for the dogs I'm amazed at all the space they will have back there. Now I need to get a new waterproof protector cuz the one from the Jeep is too small.

Had a little gtg with family and friends yesterday, I cooked a ham with baked beans(in my crockpot, Ava!) cheesy potatoes and made a little potato salad too. SIL brought a yummy dump cake for dessert and friends made homemade mushroom noodle soup made with a big sheepshead mushroom they found. Everyone said it was delish (I don't do 'shrooms so I can't say).

Those of you on the road and those who are still home, take care
Kathy

Mornin' Carol, Kathy & all that follow ~~~
Brisk morning here in Chitown. Must be getting excited for the Halloween mini-gtg with Kathy & Eileen (we're still on right?) because I couldn't shut my mind off last night at bed time. Ran to Colt yesterday & made the bed ~ flannel sheets & down blanket since I seem to still have problems with the heater. Then Monday to the dealer for winterizing & warranty work.

Had Mom over for the weekend. Shingles have been gone for a while, but her hearing isn't back yet. Her friend is taking her to the ear doctor tomorrow for his opinion. She's still not 100%. These shingles have really made her seem old (she's 85), and keeps saying people should not have to live like this. She doesn't understand that the nerves may take a long time to heal. As Gram used to say, "it's hell to get old".

In training for 3 days this week for new system "in the Cloud". I see major headaches coming our way. How much longer until I can retire......?

Not much else. Have a good day everyone & stay safe of the roads.

P.S. Congrats on the new wheels Kathy.

Cheryl, still on as far as I'm concerned. Do you need to borrow an electric heater? I have several.

I'm still in for the weekend camping. And, now I don't have to leave so early on Sunday as the trick-or-treat is on Saturday this year. Just have to to get the neighbors to do our treats. DH won't do it without me...no explanation, just said "no." With just the 3 of us, what shall I bring for food? Want Wisconsin cheese? I'll bring s' mores for sure, should we coordinate more or wing it?
Hope all the rest of you are safe, warm & dry.
Eileen

Good Morning, Looks like rain but so far we've only had sprinkles and we need more but not as much as some of you are getting. DH and I went for a ride to see the last of the colors and had lunch at Alto Pass. The colors were great. Carolb, the road is calling put your rake and shovel down and listen. Kathy congrats on the new Durango! Cheryl I hope your Mom feels better soon and your training session with the 'cloud' goes well.

Good morning.
Weather turning nasty. Supposed to leave tomorrow but with 2 more days of wind/heavy rain think I might extend and ride it out here. Leaving early not an option as I would be driving straight into weather system as it moves east. Will make life a bit more difficult getting home 2 days later but appears to be a much safer option. Until now the weather has been great so no complaints; should be nice again by Thursday. Decision time coming up shortly.

Good morning all. Boy, am I glad I had Lola winterized the other day, was in the 20's when I got up this morning. Supposed to get in the 50's today and is sunny so think an outside day today. More leaves to rake and get rid of. There's still lots of green in the trees so looks like this is going to be a long drawn out affair this year!

Liz, loved your blog! Looks like you and Donna had a good week end. And Kathy, congrats on your new vehicle! Hope it is everything you hope for. Carolb, how's the pup doing? Looking forward to seeing all of you!

My electrician is coming tomorrow to fix the wiring on the outlet. Looks like besides the converter box it also got the frig too. Jim says it's probably the heating element on the electric side and is fixable. I'm trying to stay calm and not freak out and trust that it's all fixable. Melissad, thanks for the info you posted. Hope my experience helps anyone else thinking of adding an outlet on their property. Lesson learned, I guess.

Well, it's finally warming up a bit so guess it's time to get outside and tackle the leaves. Hoping everyone has a good day and staying safe from the rain and flooding. Patricia just isn't letting go.

Good Morning,

Some sun here in Hot Springs this morning after rain all day yesterday! I spent yesterday in pajamas doing this and that. Today I need to get focused!

Kathy, congrats on the Durango! My daughter had to give up her Caravan with 280,000 miles this summer and buy something else. She took beehive boxes with her to make sure they would fit in whatever she chose. One salesman was a little put off by that. Wonder what he'd think about the goats? She only did that once to get them home.

The mention of s'mores reminded me of the item my granddaughter has for doing them in the microwave. Pretty slick little 'toy'.

Cheryl, I agree with your mother - shouldn't have to live like that. BJ, the colors coming here were pretty well done or else needed sun to shine on them! Sarah, glad you can stay put until weather cooperates! I'm really watching as I have to leave here tomorrow. O'Sharon, brrrr.

Enjoy your day everyone!

There are circuit boards in the fridge and other appliances. It's normally the circuit board that fries due to the over voltage. A hard wired EMS system like the Progressive http://www.progressiveindustries.net/#!ems-lchw30/c1t3r would have saved you. Something to consider. Good Luck.

We only got a little over 4 inches of rain and not the 8 inches that was predicted. I think New Orleans got 8 inches and North Louisiana probably did too. It looks like it might be misting now but I haven't been out. Most of the rain has moved off to the East. Good idea to stay put Sarah. It's not just rain headed your way but wind too. The weather channel said Mobile had winds up to 47 mph.

I managed to keep Harold in the house for a week. Saturday he was on the 4-wheeler and this morning he left in the truck. Just hope he doesn't get in more trouble.

Kathy, congratulations on the new vehicle. I hate having to deal with the car salesmen. When we get through with a vehicle not many people want it. If they don't offer much on a trade I usually just give it to my sister. Her three boys can keep vehicles running long after I won't pay to get them fixed. I order the floor mats from Weather Tech as soon as we get another vehicle. If I don't Harold will have the carpets gross in no time.

I need to finish taking things out of my motorhome so I can bring it to the shop tomorrow. When I know I won't be able to use it I can think of all kinds of places I would like to go. I don't have anything planned until Dec 3rd with the Louisiana Belles. It will be the Christmas campout and everyone will decorate but me.

Had a stressful day yesterday in St. Louis trying to get to the Arch and parking in a very hazardous position. Posted about it with photos on Interesting Places for those of you who might want to visit there in the next two years. Roads and old parking lots have been demolished or are closed, so it is challenging.

Today, I am at Ray Behrens COE campground, so got a full hookup for $12. I am headed to Hannibal in a few minutes but then when I get back I will hook up sewer and give my black tank a good flush and rinse. I think I will stay here another day in spite of really weak internet signal through Verizon. As long as I can get enough to post and upload student papers, it will be OK. Supposed to rain tomorrow, which is another reason for not bothering to drive. On Wednesday, I will head down the Mississippi south. Really chilly nights here, so it would be nice to get some warmer weather, but I want to wait until that big storm gets all the way through. So far, I have been far enough north to miss it.

Nope - I'm good. Bought one in the Spring when I was at Carlyle Lake. Thanks for checking.

I'm all for winging it with the food.

Winds strong enough to create white caps on lake. Only a little rain so far but forecast to get much worse this evening and all day tomorrow, not ending until late Wednesday. Decided to stay but when I went to office to extend discovered my site not available for 2 more nights. Really hated to have to change sites but better than driving into this pending storm. Even tho my initial site was paid thru tonight, the ranger was kind enough to transfer it to new site without charge and allowed me to move before wether deteriorated more. Just got set up in new site and will hunker down until Thursday morning.
