Wednesday & rain

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday & rain

Postby carolb » Wed Oct 14, 2015 6:15 am

Gmorning all:)

Ok, so I guess some of you out west have sent your rain this way--I really don't need it, thank you very much :) Trying to get more "spring" yardwork done before I leave for winter. All my spring housecleaning is done!

Beth, I think I already asked, but don't remember your response--where are you this winter? Had great visits with you last year & hope to see you again:) Anita, I really hope we can meet up & do some exploring in TX. Even though Karen sold her Trek, I hope to visit her--& other peoples in TX, Red, Diane & anyone else? Can't wait to meet up with Peg & others in AZ--absolutely love the desert. Have decided, at this point, to skip FL again this year. Hey, Mickie & Mary, great to be in FL in Karen's Trek?? ;)

Cleaning garage today so I can fit car in there for the winter--such "garage fiasco" last year, but so happy now, one of the best investments I've made:)

As always, have a great day & be safe:)

Good morning
Another day of painters crew all over the house (outside). At least I made it out of bed in time to get a cup of coffee before they show up. They made good progress yesterday and the weather is cooperating. My main task for the day will be washing windows; did not do well at that yesterday as allergies were acting up - hard to clean windows when you are sneezing on them.
Have a plumber coming this morning too. He is going to snake the yard drains while all the downspouts are down for painting. Couple of them are badly stopped up beyond what I can clear.
A grocery store trip late this afternoon also on my list. Hope the painters will have the driveway cleared of ladders by the time they leave today so I don't have to carry groceries from the street. Have not been able to use the driveway past couple of days.
Time for another cup of coffee before all the workers show up.
Have a good day.

Mornin' Carol, Sarah & all that follow -~~~
Well since you're coming thru IL, want to stop at my house & do some cleaning too? :)

Still dealing with Mom health issues. Seems like the shingles are pretty much over & done with, but her hearing is not coming back. Doc said there are shingles that go in the ear and he's not sure if it will come back. And now she's anemic also. At least for the first week since IN gtg, there are no doctor appointments until November, but she still is pretty miserable.

Now I'm sick too, probably just worn down form all these doctor & hospital trips. 102* for 2 days was not fun and not easy to get well myself running her around. Such is life, we all have to do it a some point.

Anywho ~ just want to say a quick Hi! Been reading a little bit to keep up with you ladies but can't remember everything I've read.

Have a good day & stay safe on the roads.

Morning all!

Carol - we are loving FL and the Trek!! Can't wait to start taking trips. And, like you, we love the desert, we hope to spend a nice long time wander New Mexico again soon.

Cheryl, so sorry you're sick, that is just miserable.

Good Morning Carolb and all,

Carol, you sound like me. I don't have to worry about spring cleaning till spring as I'm here all year around, but I am getting some "spring" things done in the yard. Or was, till the rains hit yesterday and this week looks like showers on and off. Lake effect from Lake Michigan. So bit too wet to do much out there and colder temps predicted for rest of week too. If sun comes out today, might be able to do something. Will see. Picked up oil for my big snowblower yesterday, so need to get that changed and the thing greased and lubed for upcoming snow season. Will be time to mothball lawn tractor before long. It has a couple of jobs to do yet. Also got to get busy on my shrub covers before we get some serious snow. Don't put them over them yet but do need to rework them a bit after last winters experiment.

So when do you think you will be heading west Carolb? I know you had mentioned maybe the second week of Nov. for the early Thanksgiving at Kathleen's. Should be fun. Will be thinking of you gals. Had thought of venturing down too, but logistics are such as it will require two nights on the road, one coming and one going to get down there and back, and with possible holiday trip to the U.P. coming up, decided to save some green for that. Rosemary, have fun in Superior. Beautiful area. I imagine you have your Sportsman all put away for the winter season now. Did you ever get to make a "maiden voyage" trip this fall? Sarah, things seem to be moving right along at your house. I imagine the painters know the days are numbered and probably have other jobs to do too before winter weather heads your way. Up here the builders are scrambling to get homes closed in and siding put on and whatever else needs doing outside. Cheryl, sorry to hear you have been sick and your mom isn't feeling that great yet. Hope you both get to feeling better real soon.

Not much on agenda here today like I said. Weather dependent. I am gong to take a ride down to Grayling for gas this morning though. It's 25 cents a gallon cheaper then it is here in the Gaylord area and there it's only 18 miles down from me. Guess they charge an extra penny a mile for the 26 miles from Grayling to Gaylord to haul up the gas and the same company owns the statins in both towns. Go figure. I did do some "bumming" in town yesterday and found a really neat "adult" coloring book, well actualy it's a poster tablet with about 1- different country scenes in it to color. About 9 x 12 I would say. I love to color and I know that of late, adult coloring books seem to be a rage. I think we all love playing with color, whether it's coloring pages or painting on canvas. Very relaxing.

Time to get dressed and get moving here. You all have a nice day and stay safe, those of you on the road.

No rain here today, but fall is definitely upon us. Beautiful colors everywhere. Carol, you inspire me...and Sue, too, to get stuff done around here. Finally yanked out the tomato plants and annual herbs and put away the porch pots for the winter. Plenty of inside work to do if we plan to sell this place and move smaller, plus buy the RV in the spring. We're in a great school neighborhood so want to take advantage of that and be on the market for families looking to move in the summer. I'm going to Disney World with a couple of girlfriends next week, and the Lowden State Park GTG the following weekend, but then it's time to get serious about household tasks and painting, updating, sorting and throwing out. Anybody want to come help with a garage (or is it "garbage") sale next April?
Enjoy this fall day, and be safe on the roads.

Good morning gals,
Plan is to really clean the upstairs today. Trying to set a goal for each day so I don't end up wasting my day like Monday. I did get things cleared out of Pony on Monday, so we can put her up on her stand. Apparently there is now not enough room in the Quonset for both Pony and Angel so she gets to stay home and be tarped up again. Knew this would happen if he started to work in there. :x

Sounds like many are beginning their winter treks south and west, good travels ladies! I'm sure that when the snow flies, I'll be wishing I was with you too.

Cheryl, sorry to hear you are not feeling well and that your Mom's hearing isn't getting back. Sending you both positive energy and prayers to feel better.

Carolb, so looking forward to seeing you again this year!

Mickie, glad you are enjoying the RT. Just takes some time to learn all the particulars.

Eileen, I might just take you up on that offer to help with a garage sale! I LOVE garage sales! Maybe I should haul my horse trailer up with me? LOL

Sue do you have the Gas Buddy app for your phone? I'm going to download it to mine.

Sarah, sorry your allergies are so bad. Do you take anything special for them? Mine have been acting up lately too.

That's all from here today; at least it is so far. Need to get cleaning or I'll not get it done in time to go to work. Hate that!
Everyone take care,
Kathy

good morning ladies
trying to get my mo jo going here, son came over yesterday and helped me get a board screwed up top on my deck extension. He said he would stop by again and get started on the painting, I'm just not up to it, capable but not
feeling that enthusiasm. Will run over to the Salvation Army and unload the car of stuff I've been putting in there
as I clean out the shed. Then I can do it all again. In the meantime, another cup of coffee, get dressed and go out
to rake the yard and organize a few things. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning!
After yesterday's drama, I am ready for this new day. I vented in Campfire.

I moved over to my aunt and uncle's yesterday to clear space at my daughter's for the big party this weekend. My aunt finally got a ride in the SS and she is ready to go again! We rode in the country - fall colors, baby calves, calm waters - beautiful.

Those of you getting all those chores done make me tired! Sarah, I can't imagine how bad your allergies must be. Ava, I'm right there with you - I just keep going through things! I hate that I have things I don't need often, but I can't see getting rid of them!

Cheryl, be sure you take care of yourself! Really sorry your mom is still feeling poorly as well.

Kathy, chuckling about no room for Pony! You should have made a mess in there ahead of time I think!

Carolb, I'll probably get to Texas about the time you leave New York so will leave a light on for you!

There is a website called Find A Grave where, among other things, people can request photos from cemeteries (a genealogy thing). There are 14 requests for photos from the local cemetery so I think I'll head over there a little later. I have been trying to find out where an aunt is buried for several years and finally found it on this website the other day.

Everyone have a great day and safe travels.

Looks like it's going to be another beautiful day. It's been at least a week since we had any rain so the next thing will be a burn ban because it's too dry. You just can't make some people happy. I decided to water my orange tree the other day. It should be well watered because I forgot to turn the hose off and it ran all night.

I found the Find A Grave site a few years ago and it's very interesting. I found my Grandfather's grave in TN. He died when my mother was a baby. I always thought that my Grandmother and one Uncle were buried in Wichita Falls because that's where they lived but they are in Gainesville, TX with some other family members. Some funeral homes have started charging to view obituaries. Considering what funerals costs, they have a lot of nerve.

I need to go through all the mail that came in while I was gone. That junk piles up fast.

The talk about graves and funeral home expenses made me think of an advertisement DH and I have been chuckling over that has been running in our local newspaper for "pre-need direct cremation services." Leaves a lot to the imagination doesn't it?!
Beautiful day here and I have been busy washing clothes and vacuuming, having someone coming for hypnosis/reiki this evening and too much dust and leaves to wait until Friday for the cleaning person. This time of year is a challenge because every time the dogs do out, which seems like every 10 minutes in the mornings, they come in covered in leaves. Mitzi was really upset awhile ago when I gathered up all her currently favorite toys and put them in the washer. She ran a grabbed one I left and is hanging onto it. We had a little drama yesterday afternoon while I was walking Toby. The people down the street are trying to train their dog to not leave the yard by using a training collar, that starts with a vibration, then a zap if they don't stop. Well she wasn't paying attention to him and he ran out at us and of course Toby went for him. He slipped out of his harness for the first time and I thought oh no they are going to fight for sure. But the dog turned and ran with Toby right after it. The lady must have zapped the dog which I thought wasn't really fair and was asking me what to do. By that time all the snarling had stopped and they were investigating each other. I suggested we let them work it out and pretty soon they lost interest in one another. It isn't legal to have your dog off leash and I didn't want to say anything but the out come could have been really bad. She is starting to realize she is going to have to get a fence, but says she is running with him without a leash which to me is an accident waiting to happen as young and untrained as he is.
Well it's time to get me cleaned up now for my yoga class. Sure hope everyone who is having allergies find something that will help.

Good morning all. Sue, my adult coloring is coloring Frozen, Minnie/Mickey, etc. books with my 5 yr. old grandaughter. Her twin brother lasts about 3 minutes them starts to scribble. It's fun to watch their progress with trying to stay in lines, etc. Enjoy your adult coloring - it's fun.

No rain here yet! Been mid 90's all week. Ugh. We all got our flu shots Monday so I'm going to be majorly upset if any of us get flu this winter as I simply don't have time or energy for it. ;)
Today we see the radiation doctor and will be done there about peak freeway traffic time so may do something in downtown until it lessens hopefully. I hate freeway traffic driving.
Wish I could say I was getting a lot of sorting and tossing and cleaning done. Seems I am wore out by the time I'm dome chauffeuring son and or husband to various places. At least I'm still making Curves a habit 3 times most weeks. It helps.
Sounds like everyone is busy. Stay safe all. Those on the road, enjoy the fall scenery for me. Around here some leaves have fallen but it's more drought related that fall. Tiny possibility of sprinkles this weekend, sure hope that happens. Waitin and waiting on El Niño!
I sure hope " unavailable" gets tired of ringing my phone soon! It's a every morning thing lately and even though we ignore,it it is very annoying! They sure have imagination in the caller id's they try lately. We ignore them all if we don't recognize. But if they were all friends calling we would be very popular and busy!!

Carolb, I'll be working at Yosemite Pines RV Park in Groveland, California (outside Yosemite). If my jello plans hold. I will head to Arizona quickly mid-March before heading north again early in April. Of course, I'd love visitors in California.
