Sunday of rest

Good morning gals,
Whew, finally I get a bit of a break. Did last petsit visit this morning at 6:30 and I'm done. Just until Thursday when the madness begins again!

Went to car show and dinner out last night, saw many people we knew at the show and DH enjoys this. He'll talk up a storm with them and I just patiently wait. Years back the tables were turned when he accompanied me to rabbit shows, so it's my turn now.
Saw the guy who still works for DH's old boss and got in a dig about how well we are doing. Old boss tried to run us out of business but only succeeded in driving his own business into the ground when people found out how he treated my DH. Karma!

Not sure what I will do today. DH trimmed a tree that grows over the garage and just left all the limbs laying behind the garage. Might get out my little chain saw and chop them up for firewood. Or I might go shopping! Who knows? LOL

Breakfast was french toast, eggs, bacon and juice or ham and cheese omelet. Sorry there isn't any left; we ate breakfast at the restaurant!

Everyone take care,
Kathy

good morning ladies
its so nice out this morning, air is very fresh but it will warm up later in the day. Haircut on the agenda today, my
haircut lady told me she was going over to a friends house to do her haircut, turns out she's a friend of mine too so
I called her, hahaha, haircut day parteeeeee!!!!
Tried to do some housecleaning yesterday, but I'm afraid I just made a bigger mess. You know that process when you
drag stuff out to clean behind and under and then you get sidetracked by something else that needs doing. Guess I'll
work on it some more later today and tomorrow.
On that note, I'm off to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good morning from sunny, hot California.

They keep saying it WILL cool down - I sure hope so. I'm amazed though at how hot it can be during the day yet it cools down so nicely overnight. In KS, once the A/C is on, it's on for months - here, I can turn it on for a few hours during the day & leave it off until the heat of the next day.

Still putting my place together. Love the walking I'm getting to do - not having my minivan for the first month has helped with that. It's here now so I hope I don't get lazy especially when I just need a couple of things from the store.

Staying very busy during the week with work & baby. Baby is a joy & I'm grateful to be able to continue working for Unbound so both are blessings. Took Olivia & Sadie for a walk this week - too much work to do very often... stroller, carseat, dog, baby - lug it downstairs then back up afterwards. Wlll limit these until she doesn't have to be in the carseat in her stroller.

Lyn, thinking of you & the family.
Ava, have fun with your friends today - fresh haircuts feel so good.
Kathy, your breakfast sounded delish... wish you had left-overs to share.
Lori, nice seeing you back online.
Peggy, you too - where are you now, sounds like you're out west.
JudyB, I know what you mean - I dress so casually now - whatever I wear must hide baby spit up. Hope I have something suitable for a weddding in a couple of weeks.

Well, that's about here...
Take care everyone & stay safe.
Catherine

Enjoyed my dinner last night with high school friends. One of them I have known since kindergarten--67 years ago. Can you believe it?

Today, I am still sitting in the state park with my site overlooking Lake Erie. Nice day today and very pleasant place with sites spread out decently (maybe 50-60' apart?). Got work to catch up on today but tonight will be going to visit my niece and her family. Only half the campground is open, and it was about 2/3 filled last night, with some people already packing up to leave. Nice thing is that it was very quiet here yesterday and last night, with most people just walking the beach or riding bikes.

Just turned AC on because heat is building up inside RV even though it is only about 60 outside, but really ran the heater last night because it was very chilly. I hope my schedule west and then south across the country lets me beat the really cold weather! Won't start heading south until late October.

Good Morning to all. Feeling pretty good today after my surgery on Thursday. Bill is waiting on me like I was a princess. Will take advantage of that for as long as I can. Can't do any cleaning or lifting for 6 weeks - oh poo - I'll miss my vacuum. NOT. Also can drive for 3 weeks. Had extensive "female" work done - much more than The Doctor expected. But hopefully all is well now for the rest of my life. It is so surprisingly good to be able to cough without pain. And already I can be on my feet longer without pain. And sit without feeling like I'm sitting on a big rock. Doc did find a stone in my bladder - maybe that was my "rock" I felt all the time. Have to go back to the office this coming week to have the catheter taken out - and hopefully that get rids of the remaining discomfort. I will have drainage for several weeks so have to buy some "pads" sure hope they still sell them - its been so long. Bill was willing to go to store to buy some but I couldn't tell him what to buy - no ideal what is available anymore.
I'm sure glad we got all the stuff done in the house before this - one reason we worked so hard getting it all done. Now just to relax and enjoy it. There are so many things going on in Vegas - all kinds of art shows in the various parts of town. Can't wait until next year when we can go to them. Last night out in the desert thousands of the lighted balloons were launched - must have been a beautiful sight. Next year I want to go.
I got the last part of my sewing machine cabinet yesterday - Yay now I can use it again. It is still warm here - going to be 94 here today, but should cool down by the weekend with a chance of rain again. Hopefully it will stay cool then.
Went to storage to visit the Alfa the other day - when I get on my feet again I need to get it cleaned good and ready to travel after the first of the year. We're going somewhere!
I've been writing about our time here in Vegas in the blog.

Can't even imagine that, growing up a military brat and moving endlessly I don't have any friends from forever ago. Must be really cool.

Carol - glad you got your plumbing worked on, amazing how much trouble things we're not even using can cause us!

Good Morning!
Ava, if you could see my camper and the mess I have trying to clean and reorganize, you'd know you aren't alone!! Kathy, that sounded like such a good breakfast. Catherine, Kansas weather had me digging out warmer clothes and now today it is to be 90!

Yesterday was the last cross country meet while I'm here. It was at the golf course just up the road so I drove myself. Guess I goofed because when my grandson's race was over, I came home. It was senior day and DD posted photo of her holding rose and grandson got an award. Oops! I'm not exactly kept in the loop.

My cousin's daughter had a ticket for me to go to Kansas State U football game - which they lost to a tough team. However, this group of family and friends do a great tailgate party! The guys did a shrimp boil with sausage, onion, corn on the cob and potatoes. What a great time. When I was little, my dad watched a lot of football and I always enjoyed the half time marching band. Now I got to see the real deal!

I'll continue with the mess in here and the Seahawk's game will be on this afternoon - they also are facing a tough team.

Hoping you are all having a good day!

Queen, I lived in a suburb of Detroit with one corner almost touching the city limits, but our school district was unique in that it was founded in 1837 and never consolidated with the other, much bigger suburban school districts around Detroit. (It even had a small town name: Clarenceville.) So when I started kindergarten, there were only two half-day kindergartens in the district, all taught by the same teacher. At that time, there were also only two elementary schools, although another was built very soon to accommodate the upcoming "boomers." (We were pre-boomers.) And actually, my parents had met in 8th grade when there was only one school holding 1st through 10th grade! They went to school with the parents of some of my classmates.

When I started 8th grade, it was held in the high school because we had no junior high or middle school. There were about 120 of us in 8th grade and 87 who graduated together, but we have always invited dropouts to out reunions. In the 40s and 50s, families lived closer together, so there were lots of cousins and siblings in various grades. (Found out last night that my cousin's cousin was the best friend of the man my kindergarten friend is now dating. They were a year ahead of us.) It was like a very small town, but in the suburbs of a large city. We grew up together, which is more than just graduating together.

At the time, I hated going to a dumpy, small school, but since then have grown to appreciate knowing everyone in my graduating class and keeping in contact with many of them.
