No one started the Coffee Monday?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

No one started the Coffee Monday?

Postby gingerK » Mon Sep 14, 2015 7:53 am

Good morning!

Can't believe no one's started MC this morning! Did you all party too much all weekend? I think I did!

Getting busy today, dog walks and one house (not mine) to clean then I'm going to Best Buy to look for a new phone. Bought a Motorola on Friday and I do NOT like it! I think it also might be defective, as I bought DH the same phone at the same time and his will connect to wifi and mine will not. So If I can get a phone at BB, I'll take this one back to Target.

Not much more to add today, everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning
Todays journey may prove to be more of an adventure than we'd like. Carol's GPS is not working and mine is not cooperating in terms of going route I want. I cannot read a map without glasses but cannot drive with them. Our goal is only a couple hundred miles away to the last state park in KY near the IN border. Route is along back roads across TN and KY with only a couple of larger towns to negotiate. However it looks like there could be ample opportunities to miss turns along the way, especially since I cannot read most street signs until I'm right on them - sometimes too late to turn. Carol plans to follow me so I just apologized in advance for getting us lost.
Really chilly start to the day but sun is warming things up nicely and there is a clear blue sky. Happy the weather is cooperating for our drive.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good Morning! It’s been quite a while since I’ve blessed the forum with a post! But I’ve been reading almost faithfully. Also been on a couple of little escapades so haven’t been home on weekends. Had a really fun girls get away with four friends a couple weeks ago at the Buffalo Ridge Resort and also went to the Terry Redlin Art Gallery in Watertown. Came home on Sunday and started packing the 5er so DH and I could spend 6 days camping with friends over Labor Day…..that was a working vacation for me. The only time we were able to get out this summer. That’s definitely going to change next year!

This weekend I left work and went to see my mom in the home on Friday night. Spent the night with my sister and then back to visit mom some more Saturday morning. On the way I home I had to stop at Wally World to do some stock up shopping. Got home and started making salads for my friend Faye’s daughter’s bridal shower on Sunday. Yesterday was pretty much shot because of the shower. Next weekend I get to have Bronc while the kids get away. :D I’ve got to get my house cleaned sometime because the dust bunnies are getting to look like they’re on steroids.

Enjoying reading about everyone’s adventures and the migration toward the upcoming GTG although it does appear that you’re heading in the wrong direction since Fall is upon us. :? Please post lots of pictures.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning Everyone !! Sarah, you're not supposed to tell all our secrets  If we get lost, so what ?? I can read a map , but not while driving, and you can too, so we'll be fine. Wrong turns always leads to new adventures and great finds in sightseeing !! We always tell our great finds and leave out the fact we were lost while doing it ! :D ;) !! We're in for great adventures today, hopefully safely, that is all that counts !!

Had to comment, couldn't help but laugh when she is making excuses before hand, first time I get to follow her and if we take a wrong turn I will NEVER tell !! Many things to do yet, Maggie is saying time for me, I need out !!

Have a great day, Enjoy every minute !! Those who are not feeling well, hoping you are well soon, Stay safe.

CArol :)

Seems as though it should be noon! I had to go with DH to his doctors appointment to have his stitches out and it was for 8 AM  I am always up at least by 6:30 but definitely not inclined to dash around getting organized to go out. We also had a bit of a drive and I was amazed at the amount of traffic. I watched while they took the stitches out and was appalled at the nurses lack of sanitation! She did wear gloves but unlike the last nurse we saw this one never changed them through the whole process. She touched cabinets door, the camera and the sink faucets then would go back to touching the incision. It is no wonder so many people get infections at the doctors office!!

I had to laugh at Sarah's post, sounds like a case of the blind leading the blind! Since my recent episode of being lost 25 miles from home though, I totally understand!

Toby and Mitzi have learned to share. This morning I saw something green hanging out of Toby's mouth and it was the outside part of my Fitbit. I looked at Mitzi and from her expression grabbed her quick and opened her mouth to fine the insides with the battery thank goodness in place. I think it fell out of my pocket when I changed clothes. I have yoga at 11:00 and need to get organized. Opps forgot to feed the dogs, I better dash!

Safe journeys to all on the road!

Good Morning All It is not even 8:00 here in Vegas so it is still morning for me. Had to laugh last night - we lived in tornado country for 7 years and never had any problems - we've lived here in Vegas for 2 months and got some wind damage last night! Suddenly a roaring wind storm moved through here and knocked down some 4 x 4s Bill had standing up on the patio. One managed to clip the sliding glass patio door and knock the edge off it. At least the glass didn't break. Have to check it later to see if it can be fixed without replacement. Sure hope so.
We are almost settled - just a few things left to do. Then of course all the rearranging when I can't find things or don't like where they were originally put. We've had an electrician here - hopefully the warrenty company will take care of the problem. When we have the kitchen lights on we can't run the microwave for over 30 seconds as it trips the breaker. Electrician says we need a dedicated line for the micro. That the line it is on is 15amps and when it runs for any time it pulls the full 15 amps - so when fixing dinner using micro I have to remember to shut the lights off.
Two weeks from today I have to go back to doctor - pretty sure I'll need surgery - nervous about that as last time I had simple surgery for the same thing it took 4 more surgerys to fix the mess.
If you read my blog you saw my latest cooking flub. Made a cake an unpside down cake and forgot the brown sugar. Dah. Must be the heat messing with my brain cells.
We are talking about going to Mexico for a month or so this winter, but not sure yet.
Glad to see so many are out and about. You all have fun at both GTs in Indiana - lots of neat stuff to see.

Feeling a bit subdued today, our closest friend went to the ER back in Illinois last night for chest pains. She should be okay but being so far away just stinks. Guess that's the price you pay when you move away from home.

We don't really have any family at all, or none that we're in contact with, so our friends are our family. Sure does feel lonely now and then.

Hope everyone on the road is staying safe, and all are having a good day.

Rain coming to the northern Oregon coast today - that's a good thing. I'm getting the urge to hit the road again, but I need to stay here and get this cottage in shape so I can rent it out in the spring/summer. Must buy recycling bins today.

Everyone on the road travel safely!

Just under the wire for morning but just got back from chiropractor appointment. Had to laugh at CArol and Sarah's posts! I'm never lost just misplaced which leads to an adventure! It's almost a given when I travel outside my area! CArol, I reread some of the posts from yesterday and realize you were at a Passport America campground. When I see PA I usually think the state! I'll have to keep that in my head and not assume anymore! Sounds like lots of travelling happening right now. Will be waiting to read about the Indiana gtg. Sounds like you all will have a good time. Alice, you're taking up kayaking too! What fun! Have a good time. Time to get some lunch and get busy. I want to work outside today since the sun is shining and it's coolish. A good outside day! Travel safe.

Carol, I am imagining you cooking in the dark. Maybe a flashlight??

So, for those of you who think I am stuck in my always-a-reservation mode, just want you to know I really have very few reservations for this trip since Labor Day came and went. (Exception is two sites on Cabot Trail inside national park. Made those last night since spots for my size vehicle was filling up and half the campgrounds are closed.)

Anyway, I have been going crazy trying to decide how much to do in one day. There is so much I want to see here in NS, but I also am anxious to get back to Ohio and Michigan so I can spend time with friends. I have an appointment with Fleetwood factory service in Decatur, IN, that is slightly driving my schedule. Anyway, I drove just 60 miles today from Peggy's Cove to Lunenburg, a torn with wildly painted houses on a small bay. I went to the visitor center to park and looked over at the city campground next door, and dumped my plans to also try to squeeze in the Maritime Museum in Halifax. I am REALLY glad I did that as I spent over four hours here at a museum. Another thing in making my decision is that the sun came out, at least partly. EVERYTHING, including two pairs of my shoes, is damp from the rain and fog this morning. Nothing is drying, and I even went to the extent yesterday of turning on my electric heater AND the AC! Talk about not being very environmentally friendly! :o

So tomorrow is the museum in Halifax and then about a 150 mile drive.
