Quiet Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Quiet Friday

Postby Queen » Fri Sep 11, 2015 6:46 am

Morning all!

Very quiet here this morning, although I'm guessing it won't stay that way long, workers have been jackhammering the concrete steps leading to the second floor areas... VERY loud yesterday.

Been thinking about dogs non-stop since reading about Donna's puppy search, I sure do miss my old girls even though they've been gone over ten years now. If this condo allowed pets I'm pretty sure I'd be at the pound today.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Good Morning Everyone !!! I'm off to drop my trash off and on to the vets to get Meds for Maggie and then come back and seriously start putting things in RV. Supposed to be raining in the morning, so will put all in I can today. I really don't have much to put in, mostly grocery items. I took all out when I got home, so will have to use my brain( :o !!) as to what and how much to put back in . :D

I have the floor to clean but that might wait until our first stop as its nasty this morning, after raining a good bit during the night, so thinking won't do much good to clean floors here, with tracking in and out loading things. I love my logic, one job off the to do list :D

I'm thinking I have a problem with internet or my computer here at the house, I received a couple of emails yesterday, and luckily saw that I had some on Ipad, when I stopped to play my game. Ipad doesn't usually come in here,( mountain area), but it did yesterday and one email from my son, which has yet to show up on my laptop plugged into internet in house. I don't understand, but thinking I will call when I get back to find out why my internet just comes and goes as it wishes.

Need to leave, everyone have a good day, enjoy every minute of it, but please do Stay Safe !!

Since we finally got an RV I joined the Facebook group "Women Who RV", I only see one familiar avatar though, if anyone is on there wave to my fake account "Mickie Bee".

Got rid of my real one when my extended family found me and started bombarding me with their political and religious views (which are 180 from mine). Stinks have a super unique last name, sometimes.

Audrey is just about ready for her first dog show of the fall and to see if her "handler" remembers how to walk and hold the lead at the same time. Unfortunately the recent diagnosis on her RV, "Beatrix" is not good and though the oil is changed and the about to blow front tires have been replaced, Audrey will need to use the Honda to get to the show this weekend. We will stay at a friend's house and kennel the boys and Grandma Blondie. The rig has an appointment on Monday to check the wheel alinment. No sense in paying good money for new tires and then destroying them by driving 200 miles......

That is all I've got.....I have never been one for the chit chat.....see folks in Indiana in about a week. Beatrix should be able to roll by then.

Quiet here also. I am in a new campground in a small town on Murray Bay in PEI, and it is cold and rainy, so almost no one but me is here. Nice to not feel guilty paying for a waterfront site because of the currency exchange rate right now! I withdrew $200 CDN yesterday, and it cost me only $151.50 at the credit union so I also had no fees. Some things are a little more expensive here, but you still get a bargain with the $ rate.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow, which is when I wanted to take the ferry to Nova Scotia, but I think I will wait until Sunday when there is supposed to be some sun. In the meantime, I will get some work done to get my class ready for next semester. I am having a problem with IT at the college. Whenever I call to ask why something isn't working, they claim it is my poor wireless connection. This is especially true with a group thing that is like Skype. They even told my dept chair that I had a poor connection, which upsets me!! I don't want to lose this job because it pays for my traveling. The thing is that the last time I had problems with a group online webcam session, my students were having the same or even more problems than I was, except they don't complain to IT or call them for help because they call ME!!!

The solution is that I am just going to stop asking them for help because I don't want them to "report" me, so to speak. Why do IT people always blame the user?????? :x

OK, end of rant. I have been watching a cormorant trying to eat a fish that was a bit too big. He kept flipping it around to get it into his beak, dropping it, picking it up, flipping it some more, and even more. I don't know if he ever ate it because I gave up watching. Might go into a nearby town if I can get a haircut. Need to do some internet searching for a salon and some place to look at my wheel bearings in the front.

I sure hope you meant front end alignment and not wheel alignment..... :D

Good morning all,

Cool wet morning here today. Trying to decide if we should attempt to go to the fair as we planned. DH has already called me 2 times about it, I can tell he'd rather stay home and get some work done at the shop (can you say "workaholic", dear?)

Finished up with the invisible cat, Bailey this morning. He is so very shy that all I ever see is evidence that he's eaten and used his litter box and sometimes a tuft of his fur on the rug or chairs. I've been taking care of him for several years now and he's only gotten more reclusive with age. But as long as each day I can see that he's eaten all his food I have to be satisfied with that. The owners say that Bailey won't even come out for the husband!

Congrats, Rosemary on your last day of work! Now you get to go play with your new TT, have a ball!

Mickie, I'm not sure I'm on that group on FB but let me check. If so, I'll "friend" ya!

Donna, don't ask me why Internet is so strange, it sometimes doesn't work here in the flatland either. Last night my DH said I shouldn't be around electrical devices as I seem to have so much trouble with them! LOL

Tina, I've been wondering about the front end alignment on Angel, too. Not that she's wearing out tires, just that sometimes she doesn't feel quite right. Good luck to Audrey at the show!

That's all from here for now. Will see how this day unfolds!
Everyone take care,
Kathy

Aha, I see Judy and Sharon snuck in whilst I was typing!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning from Kansas,

Rosemary, congrats on last day of work!! Truck has been pulling so thinking wheel alignment, but then I found out there is a new recall that may be the problem. Dealer here hasn't received parts yet. CArol, I have given up on floors - dirt, sand, dead grass, etc. - I guess you have to stay in the city to keep them clean!

Had quite a storm blow through last evening. My daughter told me if I was coming in to the house, I better get a move on! Unfortunately, I left a side louvered window open and guess which way the wind blew! Not serious but some wet pillows on the bench seat where I lean against the wall.

Over to my aunt and uncle's for a late afternoon beer yesterday. 91 year old uncle only has a small amount so I took him a souvenier tasting glass from our Wisconsin brewery tour. He was tickled.

I'm off to town in a bit. You ladies traveling, be safe!

Remembering 9/11 all those years ago, and thinking of so many people losing their lives. It's not going to color my whole thought process today, but the memory lingers in the back of my mind.

It's RAINING, RAINING, RAINING. We had a thunderstorm about 4am and the electricity went off. I don't know how long it was off because I went back to bed. Harold has one of the lift recliners that is suppose to have a battery to get the chair down if the electricity goes off. That's not working so guess I need to try to figure out what I need to order. I got it down last time with the battery back up for my computer.

Judy, I'm with you on some of the IT people. The first thing they want you to do is restart your computer. You think we didn't try that. I worked for one company that had a 20 year old whiz kid trying to keep 5 locations from Houston to Virginia going. He didn't seem to understand the urgency to get things fixed. The corporate office wasn't interested in hiring more IT people. This was when personal computers were getting popular and they didn't think anyone needed one. The next company I worked for was the exact opposite. Half the office would get new computers every other year and they would send 3 people from Houston to get everything working.

I am a member of Women Who RV. The only picture of me I had on my computer when I joined Facebook is a school picture from about the 5th grade. I haven't been interested enough to try to learn how to change it.

Bailey sounds like a cat we had named Boo. We had a neighbor feeding for a week and she never saw him and thought he had gotten out. There is another barn cat missing this week. Ever so often one will go missing for a while. I hope he finds his way home.

I am remembering 9/11 too. That's one of the events I will always remember where I was like JFK and the Challenger explosion.

Thought for the day -

Morning is gone and allergies still acting up but I'm getting excited about escaping for a little while. Will meet Carol in TN tomorrow and we plan to travel together to IN. Still have a lot to do to be ready when my ride comes this afternoon to take Nicky and me to clonal campground where Magic lives.
I'm also a member of Women Who RV; avatar is photo of Nicky with red scarf.
Need to get moving.
Have a good day.

good morning ladies,
yes, it is still morning here in the west.
Funny how a 4 day work week can seem so long sometimes and the regular 5 day work week just flys by. Not
complaining just lots on my mind lately. My friend/family in California had to evacuate last evening due to
the Jackson-Butte fire. Fire flared, jumped the river and it was a mile from their house in an area called
Mountain Ranch. They had to get 3 horses loaded in the horsetrailer, and hope to get out before the road
closed to get up to the cabin up by Alpine. Cars, boat, house, and the rest of the ranch could all be gone
today. Won't know until we get some word. All the fires in California, Oregon and Washington, well, its all
still burning!
Locally on the news front we have the freeway shooter thing going on. Just shaking my head cause I don't
know how the police are going to catch this guy. Its very unnerving, and when I get ready to leave town on
fall break in October I'll have to go the long way around to get out of town. They think there is more than
one shooter.
Plans to go to the lake this weekend, have been waiting for so long to do this adventure, can't wait. About
time to get my lunch and think about heading back to work. Lots of crap going on there too but if I bring
that up I'll just get pissed off again. Will wait until next week when I can actually do something about it.
Ya'll have a great day, be safe.
