Cool Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Sep 10, 2015 7:22 am

Morning all,

Chilly 53 here this morning. 60's and rain for today. Cool air feels good after all that hot weather of the past week and a half. Fall is definitely in the air.

Decided yesterday in light of forecast for next few days, it was time to get trailer ready for trip to IN as I leave on Monday. So crawled around underneath a bit and checked things out, wiring, holding tanks, springs, backside of tires etc. Looking good. Called RV dealer about getting tension adjusted on awning as it wasn't rolling in all that great. Guy I needed to talk with was gone to back, would have him call me. So back out and got everything washed down inside, well not the walls, with Murphy's. Threw rugs in washier and decided it was lulnch time. Dealer called bring it on over. So hitched up and off I went. Got the awning all set, rolling up great now and also had them mke some adjustments to my safety chains. Back home, washed insides of windows, fixed screen that was pulling out of the spline around the edge, remade up my bed, hung up the little magazine rack that JudyJB gave me. Thanks again Judy. Also cleaned the fridge and put some things back in trailer that I had washed. So other than doing the floor later, all done in there. Unrolled the awning and gavie it a good bath on both sides. All set now. Glad I did that cause like I said, weather going down a bit for a couple of days. Will clean exterior later this weekend.

So for today, I am cleaning house this morning and then have an appt. at noon, so will have to head to town. Have clothes pretty well set to put in trailer for trip, just working on my food list little at time. You get the drift things are busy here

BarbaraRose, glad you started coffee the other day. I had been thinking of you as haven't seen you post in a while. Glad you got moved to your new apt Sounds pretty nice. Judy, I love Anne of Green Gables. Sometimes when PBS has it on, I will watch it. Have read all the books in the series too. Sounds like you are enjoying the island.

Sandi, great news on the test results. Sometimes it doesn't pay for us to look up things on the internet. Gets us to worrying over things that don't apply to our situations. But we are going to do it anyway. So now you can get on with life. Seems everybody else doing okay. A bit behind on reading here. Regulars are busy with work or getting ready to head to IN. So much to do and so little time left in the season.

I"m off. Have a nice, safe day everyone :)

Good morning Sue and all that follow,

Just waiting on a friend to come so we can bring her car down to the shop for repairs. DH painted the parts yesterday, now today he will put them on and get her car back to her tonight. She is off work today so doesn't need her car but needs a ride from the shop back home. I have to stop and pay a supplier's bill on the way home too.

Horseshoer is coming sometime around noonish. If it's raining, we'll work in the barn and I'll have him pull shoes off. It will be early for that but oh well.

Took Shooter (DH's pup) in to get his shots yesterday and had a bit of excitement. I will post more about that later.

Time to get moving, I think my friend is here,
Take care everyone,
Kathy

Good Morning to All from very warm Las Vegas. Yep it is back up into the 105's for the next couple of days. Then by a week from now the high will ONLY be 90! Can't wait. Though I must admit the 100s here don't bother me like the 85+s in Indiana. Bill has been sneezing, sniffling and had running eyes for the last week. He says he thinks it is a cold ... I'm not so sure. He stopped using his Flounase...we're both wondering if all the stuff from Indiana brought pollen with it. At least he can still breath with no problem - so that's the important thing. We keep working with all the "stuff" but seems like we get one room settled then make a bigger mess in another room. Kind of depressing - or I'm just tired.
The GTG in Indiana sounds like it will be great. That's a neat area.
There are all kinds of activities here in the Park - including jewelry making just haven't had the time yet to check anything out.
Need to get busy before it gets too hot. Have to go run errands.

Good Morning,

Got my night at the casino in St. Jo, Missouri - left my money behind! I don't really mind, but I'd like to find one machine that showed promise once in awhile!

Will be at my daughter's in Kansas in a few hours. Tomorrow will be get propane, do a little laundry, pack for weekend in St. Louis with daughter and grands, football game to see teens in marching band tomorrow night, grandson's cross country meet Saturday morning and then we hit the road coming home Sunday night.

Monday I'll have to decide on what to take and pack for trip to Seattle and class reunion. I fly out Tuesday. Okay, now I'm tired!

Exciting to read about those of you getting ready for the gtgs! Never did mention that trees were starting to change in Wisconsin. Donna, hope you find a new companion soon. Tho I don't have or want a dog, I certainly understand the attachment and company.

Have a good day and safe travels!!

It's hard to type with a needy cat that wants to sit in my lap and be babied. He feels sorry for himself because I had to put the cone of shame back on him. He has had a skinned spot on his head for a few days but wasn't scratching it. I was gone most of yesterday and when I got home he had scratched it until it was bleeding.

It's raining this morning and 77. The temperature is nice but we don't need any rain. If all the rain that's in the Gulf is heading this way it will be raining all day.

Anita, my sister says casinos pay better on the weekend. I don't know if she knows what she is talking about. Half the time she doesn't. The last time I was in a casino was the GTG in Arkansas. Several of us just sat at the bar and visited with the bartender instead of gambling.

Morning all!

Did my first mile walk today!!! Made it over the bridge near our place and got to see dolphins in the river at sunrise, it was just perfect. Got ambitious and went to water aerobics too, watch me go!!

Donna, hope you find a new pup soon, if I hear of any b&w papillons here I'll pass that along.

Hope everyone has a super day.

Good morning! As Donna said it is so much cooler and rainy here in Central PA! I can't believe I'm happy to see it but the last several days have been brutal! I helped my son on the new house a coupe of days ago and was so grateful when he said he needed to leave by 4 to go to a picnic! At that point I was about ready to tell him I could't take anymore of the heat and humidity. I made sure we quit by 4!! I did manage to talk him into coming on Sat with his truck to take a bunch of stuff out of the garage I've gone through. Not sure how I got into that project but it happened and if I keep at it I may even be able to park my car in it this winter! My DH had so much out there that he might need some day! As time goes on I'm finding it easier to weed it out and get rid of things. It is a process.

Lots of excitement for the gtg that's getting closer. I thought about it but still hoping to get to the coast in the next couple of months. I go out to visit Lola every so often and want to go but....maybe I should just get things squared around here so by next spring I'm not so torn between getting things done around the house and being able to travel. As I said, it's a process. I've been following Liz and Tina's blogs and look forward to each new chapter! I've been remiss in replying to the posts from Sandi and all for health problems and scares but please know I've had you all in my thoughts. And Catherine, thanks for the reminder to take time to move around more on trips. Not something I've thought about but will now. Donna, hope you are able to find another pup. I know you have lots of love to give.

I need to get a move on and head up to Clearfield to check out little utility trailers. I've decided that I'm going to have a hitch put on my Subaru and get a little trailer so I can haul leaves to the "project" and anything else I need it for. I hate having to depend on the kids to get here with a pick up. This seemed like a cheaper solution then trying to buy another pick up. For the few times I need something for hauling the cost of getting another vehicle seemed silly. So with thatI'll wish you all a good day and be safe.

Morning all. It's going to be another warm one here in northern Ca at a predicted 106!! Another fire in northen Ca, just a little south of us in the mountains. Hope today brings more control of that. Not a lot planned here with both son and hubby still with effects of whatever virus is visiting. Sure hope it leaves me alone.
Have a good day all.

Donna, I suggest you visit shelters. You might end up with a new dog - totally different breed - but as soon as one tugs on your heart ... well, you know.

I do know if I hadn't had Tips when I lost Moxie, then Peaches when I lost Tips, their losses would have been even more difficult. Peaches likes being an only dog, but I keep threatening her with a companion ... I know I'll be a basket case when she goes, but handle it better with another child I love.

Still morning here in SD. I've been working for over 3 hours now. Boy is it quieter. But I'm getting lots done in preparation of closing, too.

I'm in the same camp as Beth when it comes to losing a furbaby. Have to have another one already in place. If I lost one of my pups without another one to help cushion the pain I don't know if I'd be able to stand it. DH says "no more 3 dogs" because for more than 30 yrs. we've always had three at a time. But with Molly at 11+ and my Buddy at 9 yrs., I'm beginning to feel the need to start looking for my next pup.

I also posted of my exciting vet visit in General. Take a look!

I am also in the more than one dog at a time camp. Andy is going to be 15 in Feb and I am starting to cast an eye out. Losing him is going to be especially hard as he has, up until recently, slept with DH. For some reason about a month ago he decided he wanted to sleep with the other two dogs in my room. DH was really sad but I believe that Andy is gently trying to pull away. I thought for awhile about having only two but then I think, what if something unexpected would happen.
Kathy I just read about your experience at the vet!!!!
It is so nice to have cooler weather here!!! We had almost 4 inches of much needed rain night before last and the sump pump ran under my bedroom window off an on all night making for a restless night. Last night I dreamed I was partying with Willie Nelson and had way too much fun! Woke up so disappointed that is was only a dream

Afternoon hit a few minutes ago. Just before that, a first. One of the handles at one of the gas pumps separated - gas all over the person's bike. It actually was only 66 cents worth, but let me tell you what a mess. We got the bike and person all cleaned up and now I smell sickeningly of gas lol. Washed up the best I can and the people were super nice - especially because I was right out there helping them - providing buckets of water, Dawn, rags, and any help I could. Now that pump is out-of-order.

As to the dog discussion ... Peaches will only be 9 in a couple months, and I hope to have her many more years, but there is no guarantee. So I know another dog will come into our lives at some point.
