Waming Up Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Waming Up Sunday

Postby Colliemom » Sun Aug 30, 2015 7:37 am

Good Morning all,

Are we bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning? Hope so. Looks like another heat wave coming again. Better enjoy cool morning is you have one.

Packing up today and getting ready to leave in the morning. Friend is camping over at INterlochen State Park near Traverse City, so am gong over there till Thursday. At least I'll get to sleep in an air conditioned trailer at night. Not my favorite camping weather when it gets this hot, but oh well. Taking scrapbooking stuff along and can sit at table and work on that. Nice quiet not getting sweaty kind of thing. I hope.

Nice to see all the posts yesterday. Looks like everybody's doing okay for the most part. Keeping busy. MIckie, you sure are enjoying your new home in FL. Bet when winter comes you will love it even more. Right now though it looks like you might be having some rain from Erika. Cheryl, are you planning an overnight stay on your way to Rockville? Noticed you had mentioned it yesterday. Beth your fall plans sound great. Sure you are going to enjoy some time off.

Well, guess I will go get dressed and get my day moving here. Need to go to town to pick up a few things on sale this morning to take along. Also need to plug TT in to my garage and start my fridge on cool down. Battery needs charging too. So have a nice day today everyone and also a nice week. No WiFi at the park, so not taking my computer. Am taking my I-Pad though and if I come across some WiFi, will say hi.

Morning, Sue!

Yup, we are loving it down here, I'm planning to be one of those obnoxious people this winter, the one who calls all the friends back in IL to say how beautiful the weather is here. :D

Mary is taking me out for a steak dinner tonight for my birthday, I get to have a filet mignon with all the trimmings. Mmmmmm, birthday food!

Sue, your camping trip sounds really nice, I simply love Michigan, love how the state has kept so many wild places and not built them up. Enjoy!

Donna - where are you headed in FL? Don't know if any of the other gals are down here in the winter but if so, maybe we could do a mini gtg, or even just coffee sometime.

Rain here on the north Oregon coast as well - and lots of it! Good news for all the firefighters who have been risking their lives for us.

Those headed south for the winter, happy travels and safe journeys. I will be staying here in the little beach town of Manzanita, where I'm busy fixing up a 1935 cottage. It's a sweet little place, and I can walk everywhere and rarely have to drive. Unfortunately my rig takes up most of my driveway but there's a beautiful state park (some sites with full hookups) at the south end of town so come visit!

good morning
great storm last night, very exhilarating, a few trees down in the park, only in empty spaces so no damage other than the tree laying on its side. It will certainly get really humid today as the sun climbs higher in the sky. I was up early and the coyotes were out my back fence just a yippin and yappen and Maggie did not want to go out there. (and of course Kitty wouldn't either) Went to the grocery store, always try to do that at sun up this time of year. Will just watch tv today and relax, wash hair and do my bath.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

I live in Melbourne Florida so that's where I'll be for the winter except when I'm camping with my Rv friends and I would love any mini GTG

Judi that looks perfect!!! A cottage!!!! I would so love to be there too it sounds like my dream location, by the ocean and walking distance to shops. I think mine is a case of as the country song goes, "dreams move on if we wait too long"
Hope everyone has a fun day. Our internet connection with Frontier has been dial up speed lately around this area and everyone is wondering why and complaining. Tech who was to come fix ours called and said no need to come the signal strength is too week to improve so I'll have to call in again and get another work order issued so he can try and move us to another line. Clear as mud but if this doesn't work I'm looking at something from cell phone company. So long story to say I haven't been posting much these days.
Got to run or will be late again for church.

Mornin' ladies ~~~
Yes, back to high 80's again this week. Not happy about that. I like sweater weather. Sue, yes, planning an overnight, kind of. If I do decide to stay at the casino, so mom can camp with me, it's only about 15 minutes from home, right off of I-80. Then maybe she'll understand that you don't just take a TT 'for a ride'.

Mickie - just one thing to say to you about how you'll but your IL friends in the winter...pfffft :P :P :P

Rosemary ~ congrats on the TT purchase! Maybe you can come to the Shipshewana gtg in a couple of weeks (?). It's only 4 hours from Milwaukee. Just sayin...... :D

Judi - Didn't know about the cottage! Did you buy? Or just renting? Looks like an awesome place.

Not sure if anyone would be interested in this, but I'm addicted to a website that I listen to at work. Underwater exploration, maintenance to nautical stuff that measures currents, some investigation of underwater wrecks, etc. Then if something interesting happens, I just flip over to the video (like when a sperm whale was checking out the underwater vehicle. http://www.nautiluslive.org/ Sometimes reminds me of Jacques Cousteau & the Calypso. (yes I just aged myself :? )

Not much else. The usual Sunday chores, and trying to decide what to bring for food to the GTG. Probably nothing exciting.

Have a good day ladies and stay safe on the roads.

Regarding the cottage questions - I had a small rental property in Portland not far from my home. After my son Joe died I decided to sell it and look for something that I love and could live in part time and travel when I rent it out as a vacation rental - necessary to pay the expenses. It's old but charming, and work is under way. Painting, wood floors, etc. It is well built and sturdy but needs some TLC. It is two short blocks to the beach and 1 1/2 blocks to the main street. The town is artsy and there are small shops and bakeries/coffee shops. What more does one need? There are no fast food or chain stores here. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE here has a dog, and they run off leash on the beach. Dog heaven!

Judi - when you get ready to rent it, post up a link, I have several friends in the PNW who love to find a nice getaway place for a break from their respective cities.
