Good Morning,
Another dreary and damp day for us here in MI. But we needed this rain so no complaints. Supposed to be better this afternoon and hasn't been a steady thing. On and off showers. But does prevent one from working outside. Maybe later this afternoon, although I do have a couple of sanding projects that can be done in garage. Been damp enough in that I finally broke down and turned on the furnace for just a short bit this morning to take chill of of the house. And by this time next week, they say 90 degree weather again
Anita, if you could just swim across Lake Michigan, you would be right in line with my place over here in MI. Hope you enjoy your trip up the Door Peninsula. Was there years ago.
Enjoying the pics and tales from Tina and Liz in Ireland. They are having a wonderful time. Donna is talking about heading south again and GTG;s being suggested in the southern states already. Guess we have winter on our minds these days. I'm looking forward to the GTG in IN. Hard to believe it's only a bit over two weeks before leave time here. Time is flying. Will be starting to get ready to roll the week after Labor Day. In meantime, time to finish up a few things around here that I want to get done this year.
Well, time to quit jabbering about nothing. Hope you all have a nice day out there.

Morning!
Sleepy morning here, went out with some new friends last night for Taco Tuesday, had a bunch of fun! But I'm not sure why, seems every time I drink these days I can't sleep, I sleep for a few hours then I'm wide awake for a few, makes for a very tired start to my day. Guess if I was smart I just wouldn't drink.
No big plans today, maybe swim if I wake up, and I'll finish getting the dining room ready for the table and chairs I'm picking up tomorrow. You gals might get a kick out of this... as long as Mary is telecommuting from her IL job she has a huge desk at the end of the living room as her office, because of this we have stuff crammed in the dining room and don't have room for a normal sized table and chairs. Instead we bought outdoor furniture. A little PVC bistro table and two PVC padded chairs, and we're going to use them inside until we can get a nice set, then the outdoor set will go on the patio!

Gmorning Sue, Mickie & all to follow:)
Yep, enjoying cooler, fall-like weather here too. Wondering how the weather in Ireland is? Did I miss a report from there? Sounds like a wonderful trip:)
Garden is producing well. New grass looking good. Almost finished staining. This week, I'm helping "shopaholic" cousin prepare for yard sale this weekend--which also means I'm getting a new wardrobe:) I'm returning things I got from her last year--kind of like having clothes on loan before she sells them:)
Anita, sorry to hear about all the hassle with the trailer. Where do you go next? IN gtg coming u'p soon--are you going?
BJ, meant to tell you I'm not doing pickles with cukes, but have made the refrigerator ones before.
Nothing else going on. Y'all have a great & safe day!

A quick good morning before we leave for Door County!
Carolb, I'm headed back to Kansas next week so missing the IN gtg. Kansas plans are weekend trip to St. Louis with daughter and grands, the next week fly to Washington State for class reunion, etc., then hanging in Kansas until Brewfest mid-October. Sue, afraid I'll have to pass on the swim.
Mickie, smart move with outdoor set!
Much progress around here other than waiting for truck appointment. Yesterday we found Lance didn't remove the drain plug cover on the A/C so in humid climates, I have had water pour inside the camper. Flimsy wires and plug on Carry Out satellite dome have been replaced. I do need to clean and replace some roof caulk, but today is about fun!
Everyone have a great day - I think we know Liz and Tina are!

Good morning all,
Well, not fun here this morning. I cleaned out the horse barn gutters. UGH! What a mucky mess that was in there! And having to move the ladder all down the line to clean out the leave, acorns, twigs and MUD is also a real pita. I'm always covered in that junk by the time I'm done with the job. But now it's done and the gutter guards are back in place again so I should be ok for the rest of the year.
I am enjoying Liz & Tina's Ireland reports quite a bit, the pictures are wonderful and seeing through their eyes as they travel is fun.
Someday I might just be tempted to journey across the pond myself, to rediscover my Scottish roots.
Things are getting cleared out down at the new building, getting pretty excited to know that both Angel and Pony will fit inside easily. DH measured the inside dimensions yesterday while he was there helping another renter clean up and move stuff around to the owner's unit. Looking good that we will be in by our Oct. 1 target date.
JudyJB, my thanks for explaining how you get the rental car back! Now I feel much better about renting a car for my upcoming trip.
I was looking at DH's small garden this a.m. It's in such sad shape because he never has time to work in it, which is a shame as he loves to garden. I've pulled weeds for him but I'm not much of a gardener. So I'm thinking maybe next year I'll make more of an effort to plant and keep up with the garden. He always plants way too many tomatoes and peppers. And the guy we usually get our plants from always seems to get the varieties mixed up; we don't get what he says they are. So maybe next year I'll take over and just buy my own plants. My problem is that I don't think I can start and run the rototiller myself. Have to do a bit more thinking about this.
Should go and figure out what to cook for a man who can't ever tell me what time he's getting home for supper. Makes it kind of hard to plan a meal if you don't know when to serve it!
Everyone take care and have a great day,
Kathy

Mornin' ladies and all who may follow ~~~
Yes, looks and feels like a fall day here in Chitown, but will need the AC again near the weekend and next week.
I'm getting excited too about IN GTG and am still trying to figure out what I'm doing. I was going to contact the association where I live to 'ask' about parking in my driveway overnight on Monday so I can start the fridge, but then decided to take Monday off also for prep and am now thinking about doing a one-nighter at the casino instead. May be able to kill 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak, plug in the fridge and take my Mom for a night because she keeps mentioning about taking Colt 'for a ride'.
I think she'll only understand about the hitching, etc if she sees it.
Kathy - if the new place big enough for Colt?
I'm still fighting with the storage log to get my spot graded because I don't want to be stuck in ice over the winter.
Oh well, not much else - back to work. Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Long drive to orthopedic this morning. Sitting in parking lot. Wish me luck. This thumb is so sore I can barely do anything.
Very foggy this morning and several storms and rain on my way here. I updated my blog if anyone is interested.

Evening here in Ireland. We've been very fortunate with our weather. Some rain, but sunny or partly cloudy during our outside activities, hikes etc. this morning we did a guided walking tour of Derry, and learned a lot of history and about the more recent conflicts. Then we visited an ancient circular fort atop a hill with beautiful hills. We had a picnic lunch there. Next we visited a beautiful National Park ....in the mountain wilderness. We took a hike there. We are now in Donegal on the Atlantic Ocean side. We went to the beach where locals were swimming and our guide taught us how to play football...which is like soccer. That was a riot. Now we are resting at the hotel awaiting time to go to dinner. They eat late over here. Tonight we will enjoy some Irish music after dinner.

Saying a prayer for speedy resolution of your pain, Judy.
Cheryl, sadly no. We plan on working in that building also so space will be needed for cars, tools etc. I was surprised and delighted when DH said there would be enough room so Pony could go in there too. He still wants me to sell her. But you know you are always welcome to store Colt here at my house. Then you wouldn't have to bother with the association, plus I have electric you could plug into whenever you need.

Thanks Kathy - was just an idea. I do like where the lot is since it's so close and I can get in there 24-7 if needed.

That's really interesting Liz. I have a great grandfather who was born in Derry in 1856. Hope you're taking lots of pics and will post on your blog. Have fun!

Long drive today in my rental car, but very glad not to have to take motorhome. Was gone all of 9 hours, BUT the good news is that I got shots in both my left hand finger and right thumb. I am feeling effects of Novocain or whatever it is they added to the cortisone, but should start feeling real effects in a couple of days.
Thanks for all your good wishes!

Sure hope that helps Judy. Must have been uncomfortable driving back.
