G'morning all :)

Sounds like things are going well for most of y'all. Weight loss success, always a good thing! Water exercise is such a wonderful way to keep in shape when our "old bods" can't handle the impact of other exercising.

Enjoying some cool down here--storm passed through Thurs night, not as bad as what some of you had. Lawn & garden so happy to have real water:) Now, dry enough to continue my staining project:)

Y'all have a great day 8-)

Good morning Carol and everybody else. Since your weather usually precedes mine, I think today will be nice for a baseball game. I'm going to Fenway Park in Boston to watch the Red Sox get whipped by the KC Royals. My friend is a diehard Sox fan and we are celebrating her birthday. She buys the tickets and I buy lunch which isn't a bad deal for me!
Enjoy today. Peggy

Ya'll have a great day and be safe. Looking forward to some pics to come floatin in from Ireland :D

Good Mornin All, Oh, Karen and Beth...such difficult situations after surgery! I was suffering right along with you while reading of your nausea etc.
I don't do FB so thanks for posting that Liz and Tina are safely in Dublin. I've never been there, but have read many stories that take place there. Sounds like a delightful city.
Speaking of books, this year I didn't keep track of the books I've read. Wish I had. Last year it was over 100! I love to read.
The situation with my SIL is not good...tumor is growing and he is in more pain. Very sad.
Keep up the good work on the weight loss Oueen. I'm trying, but so far, no success. I think I have no metabolism at all!
Have a fun day at that festival Nan and Carol. Sounds like something I would enjoy.

Good Morning!

Carolb, always good to see you smiling face on here! :) Lyn, sorry to hear about your son-in-law. My BFF's son-in-law is out of options for treatment. He fought colon cancer but has been attacked by a different cancer. He's in his early 50s. Donna, some of my ancestors came from Columbiana County, Ohio. Ava, was hoping the year would be off to a good start. Peggy, I think a day at the ballpark is fun no matter!

We have sunshine again in upper Wisconsin.

Poor LeRoy - I certainly brought him some headaches! The trailer for the Slingshot had be almost totally rewired - they really did a sloppy job. He loves to use electrical tape and wire ties, but he uses them before checking that all connections are working. He had to remove them in two different places before he finished, but I think the trailer is fixed! He also finally removed the cheap switch to start the air compressor to raise the trailer after several attempts to adjust it and now I just flip a switch. Now the truck - he has narrowed it down to the truck wiring harness and since it is still under warranty, I'll get it to a dealer. Too many things going wrong at once, but most of us know the feeling!

My youngest grand began 6th grade Thursday (Kansas). My daughter always takes photos at the bus stop and last year the teens drug themselves out of bed to have their pictures taken with Natalie - in their night clothes. This year grandson had cross country and teen granddaughter overslept. When Natalie came home on the bus, her siblings greeted her really dressed up! Grandson even with bowtie and granddaughter in black dress and very cool hat!

Hope you all have a great day! Safe travels and I'm wishing I was with Liz and Tina!!

Happy because for next few days I have both electricity AND satellite TV. I did discover some things about my TV that some of you might want to know. It has taken three calls to Dish and finally talking to a tech who could tell me why I was not getting a signal.

First, DISH has eastern arc and western arc satellites. (There are lists of the three in each area, but I won't go into.) Just know that there is some overlap and the more expensive dishes get both arcs. Mine was not the most expensive. Anyway, my satellite gets only the western arc satellites, which do not cover New England. Now, sometimes I can get them or one or two of them, but it means that instead of making sure I have a clear sky (no trees) to the southeast, I have to have a clear sky to the southwest, so I have been choosing sites wrong.

Second, the farther north you go, the lower on the horizon the satellite is. Where I am in Maine, the angle is 19.5 degrees. (Meaning if you plot a line from my satellite dish to the top of the nearest trees in the southwest, the trees have to be below an angle of 19.5 degrees from the horizon.) It does help that my dish is on my roof, but basically it means there can only be very short trees around me!

Third, there is a lot more to it I don't understand, like maybe being able to adjust some switches on the receiver or the satellite to reprogram it, but you know I am not going to do that, especially the crawling on the roof and taking the cover off the dish part!!!! So for now, I have satellite, and for the future I will be able to tell which campsites might get me a signal and which definitely won't. In places like Arizona and Florida I could get a signal even sometimes in woods if there was a small clear spot, but New England is going to be different!! If anyone wants some websites for more detail, send me a note.

Great day yesterday--found a neat small town and marine museum (Searsport) and also a fort and a bridge where there was an observatory way, way at the top. Check out my blog for recent posts.

Good satellite information Judy but I have Direct. My satellite dome was on my motorhome when I bought it in 2006 so every time it connects I feel lucky. If it ever quit working I'm sure I would have to get a new one because it would be so out of date. My tv antenna never was very good and now it has quit rotating. There is a place on the way to Lafayette that might could work on it but I forget to stop and talk to them.

No plans for today except to go to the grocery store. I'll probably mess around until it decides to rain. The weather channel isn't talking about Danny much so hope it is weakening. We are getting close to the anniversary of Katrina and 3 weeks later Rita. Hard to believe it was 10 years ago.
