Sunday again

Morning all, I've already had coffee and went to Dunkin Donuts for my once or twice a year donut. :D

Tried my new static swimming belt yesterday, it is rudimentary but it worked very very well. I'm able to just put my head down and swim without stopping to turn every ten strokes (trying to swim in a small condo pool). Once I drop to my first goal weight my reward will be the cadillac of static belts... kind of nice to have a reward be a fitness item rather than a meal or fancy wine. ;)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Good Morning Queen and everyone else...

Has anyone used or know of Milk Thistle? I have been researching for help with liver cancer or disease... Not much to report here on Shadow except he is very lethargic... and other things that go along with this horrid disease that attacks humans and pets...

I have talked to him about all of the adventures we have had in the past 12 years... and that he will be fine when he goes to heaven....

Time is getting close for those thinking of their winter get away...

Enjoy your day and stay hydrated...

Ava you popped in ahead of me... I remember when we lived in Florida many of the old timers did not have air conditioning...

Good morning to All. I know what you mean Ava - here in Vegas we are in the same heat wave. Ugh. We are spending a lot of time in the house which is nice and cool with good AC and lots of ceiling fans. Finally had our window blinds installed yesterday so they really help with the heat. But we come back to the not so cool RV to spend the night. Going to try to stay here in the Alfa most of the morning so I can watch the race at 11:30 - not sure if we'll make it.
We bought a TV for the house yesterday and got a digital antenna. It brings in a few of the major local channels and many Spanish channels. Better than nothing.
Stay cool everyone.

Good morning from SD where we are having a cool down. After a week in the 90's we might not hit 70 tomorrow. Today upper 70's I believe. I'm going to get laundry done and do a little cleaning inside the rig. Nothing exciting. Peaches already was in the creek on our morning walk, ate her breakfast and is napping now.

I really have discovered that while I'm eating too much, it's extremely hard for me to follow the pre-colonoscopy diet I had to start yesterday. Especially the no fruits and vegetables, no nuts, no beans. When I do buy bread I purchase whole grain and that's a no no, too.

I'm trying to figure out why I can't have nuts but can have peanut butter? Strange. At least this is only a few days.

Beth, because nuts and seeds tend to sit in the small pockets and bulges in your colon, peanut butter moves right on through.

Then you'd think my smoothies would be okay, with everything blended. But nope. Oh well, it's only a few days.

Milk Thistle helps clean the liver. I buy the seed at health food store nd Mel grinds as needed to add a tsp to each blender meal.

Beth, so what are you allows to eat?

I know I shouldn't complain, but everything I pretty much have given up lol. White bread is at the top of the list, for example, of what I can eat. White pasta. Pizza, without sauce. Who wants pizza without sauce? No fruits, no vegetables, no seeds, no whole grains. I can have dairy through tomorrow, then have to cut it, also. Since Wednesday is no food, just clear liquids, then the test Thursday, I'll really look forward to Friday! All this and drinking the yucky stuff. Much of which I have to drink between 4 and 5:30 am. The pharmacist told me it won't be a good idea for me to even try to catch some sleep unless I do it in the bathroom.

I realize many of you have gone through this. For a test I'm not a big believer of for myself, it's making me very wimpy.

I have now discovered that there is a fecal test for people who have no family history of colon problems/cancer, and if i had discovered it first would have continued avoiding this test unless that one had shown any problems.

I think what got me most was telling me to stop eating healthy and to eat basically junk food for this week.

Ok, enough lol.

Beth - I don't remember having to not white bread, pizza, etc. The prep for the colonoscopy is the worse part. The last time I had the test, I said never again!! Good luck and it will be over soon!!

I can have white bread (something I haven't bought in forever) and pizza but not with tomato sauce or any veggies. My rant was confusing lol. And, yes, it'll be over soon. Thank goodness.

I would have a problem since I eat no gluten. I am eating only a little meat. Which leaves cooked peeled veggies and canned fruit. Yuck. I have had the other test you mentioned so my Dr has not recommended I have colonoscopy. I'm happy with that.
Good luck Beth, I will keep you in my thoughts.

I don't remember all those dietary restrictions for a week prior. It was mostly a clear liquid diet the day or maybe two prior and of course, the yucky prep. I did however, restrict myself for a few days prior, just to make things go smoother during the prep.

I remember eating lightly, no heavy stuff the day before prep, and of course, I restricted myself to things I knew were easy to digest. It will all be over before long, I am surprised you were given an ok on all that bad for you type stuff, hmmmm. Anyway, I'm glad you're doing it, hopefully everything comes out ok  I've been this route twice and both times was given different directions, so go figure.

Good Luck, Beth,
CArol :)
