Good morning and happy 4th of July to everyone...no special celebrating here...as it just me & maggie....might go to a festival down town...might make some potato salad..
no rain yet but I think the leak is fixed...when he took the cover off the sky light
he showed me where there was no caulking seal on one side ...looks like the manufacture
ran out of caulk and just put it on as is...and over time it leaked...sloppy work...the area was cleaned and caulked...put on some of that tape for rv seal and then some dicor...should do the job...now that the weather is better hope to get some day trips and some camping done...so I will have something to post about...have a fun filled day & B safe....donna&maggie ;)

Good Morning Donna and Happy 4th of July everyone.

Nothing much planned here today either. Going down to Grayling, which is just south of me and picking up some BBQ from Moe's BBQ. He makes the best BBQ in the state. Has a BBQ shack as I call it, on wheels and goes all over this area with it.

Last night was at cousin's on Otsego Lake for fireworks. Lake Assoc. puts on a great show. This is the largest lake in the county at 7 miles long and a mile wide. Fireworks all over the place last night along the shoreline. One big party central. Now will see if neighbors are doing any here tonight.

Got my deck scraped down, now need a power washer to go ver it and remove any further stuff before I prep it for stain.

CArol, so sorry to hear you have to get out of higher elevation. Better take the northern route along I-90 heading back and get above storms. Beautiful weather here in northern Michigan.

Hope you all have a great 4th today, keep safe around those fireworks and if you are on the road as well.

Happy 4th Donna, Sue & all who follow!

A beautiful day here in KS - currently in the low 60s, only going to low 80s for high. :D

Love seeing the travels & GTGs going on out there. Glad to hear you found & fixed the leak, Donna. And while homemade hamburger buns are probably tasty, I'll stick to picking them up at the store, (if I had a bread machine that might be a different story).

Not much going on today - the kids are either all in Texas or California. So I get a real day off!

Felt like I was loafing yesterday but took a load of stuff to donate, took some old computers & a monitor to Bestbuy to recycle (took out the harddrives first), cleared out more stuff from the garage & got the grass cut! Today I'll work on the garage a little more & do basic inside cleaning. My granddaughter & her fiance move in next weekend (they're going to live here while I'm in California). Time is flying by - I'll be headed out west before I know it. Will go out to meet my little Olivia July 29 & then head out to help late Aug/early Sept - hope she arrives on time (due July 20).

My replacement at work starts on the 13th. I'm moving out of my office this week so they can spiffy it up for him. Looking forward to welcoming him & finally getting back into software development. I'll miss certain aspects of my current job, but not being on call 24/7/365- or the midnight alerts, or the power or network issues or some of the staff drama. Can't wait to take myself out of the notification groups for all the system alerts.

Well, I don't want to idle this beautiful morning away - going to take Sadie for a walk.
Enjoy the day & stay safe!

Another beautiful day. Been sunny and upper 70's all week and now thru the weekend.

Not a happy camper this morning. Had a buyer lined up to drive down here this morning from northern MN to pick up my camper. Went out last night to put the top down just to check and make sure everything was OK (that gut feeling thing), and the top wouldn't go down again. Very disappointed!! Called the couple and cancelled the sale. Finally got ahold of the guy who fixed it last week and he is coming over this morning to see what is wrong. Really hope I can get this problem fixed once and for all and get it sold! Have a lot more people interested in it yet, so hopefully I can still sell it quickly once it is fixed. I did finally get the new title on it the other day.

Other than that, I want to go out in the kayak today before all the crazy boaters hit the lake around noon. It is a zoo out there on the 4th of July!!! Got invited to a cookout here at my apartment complex for this evening and then will probably just sit out by the lake tonight and watch the fireworks around the lake. Can usually see about 8 different displays going on from here.

Hope you all have a great 4th and stay safe!

Glory 4th of July everyone!

Just getting my ribs cooked up here for grilling later, and cut up my watermelon, yummy! Will be picking up MIL for lunchtime cookout and it will probably be just the 3 of us. Invited our son but he thinks he and his puppers will stay home instead. Also invited my good friend Daun but she has something she has to do today and doesn't know if she can make it. I said come if you can anyway, we always have plenty!

Karen and I went over last evening to do the new horses and get our "routine" down. Not too bad, the donkeys didn't want to cooperate but finally gave in and went into their proper stalls. This morning more hijinks from the donks as one of the jennys did NOT want me to put on her fly mask and kept scooting behind her sister. I finally cornered her and with a little patience and some scratching in the right places she let me put it on and turn them out.

We went to fireworks at local park district last night; haven't been to fireworks display in probably 20 yrs. or more. They were nice while they lasted--all of 15 min.! I think it took us longer to get our bag chairs set up than that! Well, they were pretty, tho.

Need to get this house vacuumed before MIL gets here and a few other things done. Enjoy your day and everyone stay safe!

Happy 4th of July! Looks like a rainy and coolish day here. Not sure what it'll do to the fireworks tonight but there was lots of noise last night. Both dogs were glued to my side all evening. Wasn't a good evening for them, poor babies.

Been a crazy week for me. My "third son" ( we "adopted" him years ago) had to come up from SC earlier in the week because his mom was in the hospital and not doing well. Sadly, she passsed away on Tues night and funeral was yesterday. On top of that his wife couldn't come up with him since she had hip surgery on the Friday before. Then on Wed evening their dog died in her arms. She had been sick but seemed to be recovering so that was a shock. Finally a good friend who was coming for the funeral drove from Indiana to SC and drove her up here so the "kids" could be together. She was in some pain yesterday but she got through it. They'll head back home today but son said they'll do it in 2 days so it won't be as hard on her. His mom was a good friend to me and will be missed. So like I said, crazy week! So today I think I'll just pretend it's just a regular day and chill! Just try to get caught up around the house! I have a pork roast thawing and think I'll throw it in the oven and call it dinner! There'll be plenty left over that I can freeze to have meals for later. Always a good thing!

As always I'm enjoying reading about everyone's travels and dreaming! Everytime I think I'm going to get out in Lola something seems to happen that keeps me home! I know I'll get there at some point! Meanwhile I'll just dream!! Hope everyone has a great day and travel safe.

Happy 4th of July!

Update on the roasted garbanzo beans from yesterday. Don’t waste your time. I’ll buy Corn Nuts! I really should stop trying the recipes on Facebook. I’ve been disappointed with most of them.

Ashley just picked up Bronc a little while ago. He was still sleeping when she came at 9:00. But he had a busy night. He went to the local waterin’ hole with us for a pot-luck and ran and played with the other kids. We came home and went outside and he played with the neighbor kids on their swing set and sandbox, Hade took his sister Mia and Bronc for a ride in the wagon, he went for a ride in the side by side with grandpa, "helped" me pick up some sticks in the yard. We came in the house at dark and he had a bath that he desperately needed and a bed time snack. While he was sitting in the high chair he started rubbing his eyes and yawning and saying “ni ni” I took him in to the bedroom and put him in the crib and he was out like a light. My shock of the evening was that he is signing. Ashley is a SPED teacher and I knew that she had been teaching him some sign language. Our neighbors little girl is autistic. Mia and the rest of the family have been learning sign. Last night Krissy was signing to Mia to be careful on the slide and Bronc signed “OK”, then Krissy gave him a drink of juice and he signed “more”. When we were leaving Mia signed “good bye” and Bronc signed “love you” I think I’m going to have to learn sign or he could be trying to tell me something and I will have no idea.

After I shower I’ll be heading to my mom’s to spend the day and overnight. So no big plans for the 4th. Hope all of you have a wonderful day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Well, turns out the couple didn't get my message last night and started heading down here (4 hour drive) this morning before they finally got my voicemail. They waited where they were, until my mechanic showed up, to see if he could fix it today. Turned out to be a bigger problem than first thought, so I told them it wouldn't get fixed today. They are still interested in buying it once it gets fixed tho. May have to replace the whole lift assembly which is expensive but has to be done.

Getting extremely humid and hot outside so will probably just take a nap and stay inside until this evening. Tons of boats on the lake already, so not a good day for the kayak either. Boaters drink alot on the 4th around here. Usually lots of accidents and occasionally a death or two, so a good day to stay away. Most people who live out here on the lake won't go out on the 4th because of that. Mostly out of towners that come in with their boats, get drunk, and cause problems.

Have fun and stay safe!~

Happy 4th all. We were awake late as hubby's long slow smoke of pork butts turned, out to be longer than he planned to reach temp. I have a few side dishes to put finishing touches on, Aloha sweet potato salad, Mac and cheese salad, and pretzel dessert to make. Tonight will meet neighbors in cul de sack after dark for our wimpy but colorful safe and sane fireworks. So it will be a fun day. Have a good rest of your day all.

Sitting with Lyn at her site in Stanton Park checking email and enjoying the cool shade by her creek. Mitch and I will move over here tomorrow. Several GTG folks had some stomach issues yesterday :? but they can tell their own stories. As of this morning all are alived and able to keep fluids down. Several have been seen in vertical positions.

May be some pictures coming but I haven't even uploaded off my camera, yet. These are hot lazy days out here in Oregon.

I am one of the "sickies" but so glad that is behind me now. I am feeling quite well today and eaten a little and drinking my fluids. Think it was a 24hr stomach bug. So glad no one else has had it except for the 3 of us. We are having a pot luck tomorrow night so I want to be feeling well for that.

Nice being able to visit with these gals. Not a lot to do around here except R&R but that works for me. Looking forward to Mitch and Tina moving closer tomorrow. Alice will be coming back tomorrow too so we will be having another gab fest. Think a few of the gals are going to Crater Lake while they are here so they should have great weather for that.
