Another rainy day for us too here in Indiana - so sick of it. And rain forecast for all week with temperatures in the 90s. The damper it is, the more humidity and the higher temperatures just knock Bill out. Yesterday he couldn't even walk to the mail box his breathing was so bad. Can't wait to get out of here for his sake.
We are all packed up, will move into the RV next weekend right after the movers leave. And leave for the west the second week in July. Hope the weather cooperates crossing the country.

Good morning Donna and Ann and all who follow

So sorry this rainy weather has got you down. Donna, I wish I were closer to lend you a hand with things. Ann, hope your move goes smoothly and Bill gets some much needed relief soon.

Feed store called last night right before they closed to tell me they had my bedding in. Well, I'm at least 30 min. from them so what did they expect, I could fly down there to get it? So today I switched cars with DH and will go get the stuff then start unloading it. Hope the rain holds off until I get this done. This is the only thing I don't like about having Pony on my truck, I can't just go get feed or bedding whenever I have the time. But still not selling Pony yet.

This is a bittersweet weekend for horse sitting. I am watching my good friend Vicki's two horses while she's in WI at her Great Auntie's funeral. I've taken care of these horses for the past 4 yrs. whenever she goes up to her place in WI (they have a house up there) so I've become very fond of these horses. Unfortunately, one has developed a health problem that has her in constant pain and can't walk around much. The other has had problems with her teeth and doesn't eat right anymore. Both are 29 yrs. old. So my friend has made the hard decision to put them both down next weekend. I switched my camping trip so that I could spend one more time with her horses and even though it's hard to know I won't see them anymore after this weekend, I'm glad I got to be with them. Knowing them as I do, I have no doubts that Vickie is doing the right thing by them.

Need to go to the bank and get down to feed store, everyone take care.
Kathy

Good Morning All, Kathy, that is very sad about the horses. We all go through That with our pets sooner or later, and it never gets any easier.
I am almost ready to leave. Another trip down to the camper to load more stuff, a birthday party to go to today, for the grandson, then whoopee, Sunday morning ON THE ROAD!!!!!

Beautiful sunny day here in Frankenmuth at the GTG. Even more important is that is not filled with fish flies as it was in Sterling State park this past week, although I am still finding a smaller kind of fly that is around shores. I think they were inside and just came out of hiding, but I am doing my best to get them all.

Got work to do, so no time to chat. More later on the GTG site with photos. Good day for all of you!

Well Good Morning. It’s been a couple of weeks since I checked in. Yes, I read the forum every noon at work but just don’t post because there just isn’t a lot to say. We’ve been lucky enough to get timely rain. The crops are looking good but according to the national drought monitor we’re still below average. DH has to mow a couple times a week and has trouble believing that report.

Sorry to hear about your friend’s horses, Kathy. It’s such a hard decision to make and one that I may have to make in the very near future. Radar has had growth develop on her leg and recently it has enlarged and yesterday when I came home from work it had started to weep and bleed. I called the vet this morning to see if he could look at it. Up until now he has taken a let’s see what happens approach on the cancer aspect. Radar was 14 in February…is deaf and can only see shadows. Both of us felt that at her age putting her under anesthesia to remove the growth was probably more dangerous than letting nature take its course. It doesn’t seem to bother her. She lays on that side and doesn’t indicate any pain when I touch it. Still eats well. So we have appointment on Monday at 4:30 so the vet can assess the situation.

Bronc has to have tubes put in his ears on Tuesday. Poor little guy has had one ear infection after another. He’s starting to talk and his favorite word is “more” followed by a grin and “pez” when he is eating something that he really likes.

So I’d better get moving before it’s no longer morning. Wishing everyone the best of health, travels and whatever else.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I went to 2 farmers markets this morning. What a joke. The one in Abbeville only had one vendor with vegetables and the rest of the booths were crafts. The tomatoes were about the size of ping pong balls and I don't think they were the kind that are suppose to be that size. The one in Lafayette wasn't much better. The main reason I went was to get Ruston Peaches. I don't know why the local grocery stores only sell Georgia Peaches. The ones from Ruston are so much better. I told Harold that was his Father's Day present. lol He loves peaches. I will probably have to make a pie so they don't ruin before we eat them all. I only went to get the peaches and go to Sears and I was 2 miles out of town when I remembered I wanted to go to Sears. My canister vacuum has an electrical smell like the motor is getting too hot. It's going on 10 years old so I just got a new one. I think this is the 4th Sears vacuum I have had in 50 years. I lost one in the flood.

Of course I forgot my list so I was wandering through Walmart trying to remember what I wanted. I only forgot 3 things. I tried to renew my fishing license and the computer was down and when I went back no one was working in the sporting good section. I could have stopped at the bait shop but by the time I passed there I was out of the mood. The fishing licenses all expire at the end of this month so the longer I wait the longer it will take.
