Good morning
Seems no one has started the Coffee this a.m. so I'll do it.

Little on the agenda for today. Was supposed to be camping this weekend but had to pass.

Think we caught the skunk in a trap this morning, now the problem of what to do with it! Yuck!

Dogs are still spending time inside, and one of them still stinks, I think it might be Molly but I'm not giving her a 3rd bath

Breakfast's done but there's still coffee if you want it.

Take care'
Kathy

Good morning Kathy and all who follow.
Fourth rainy and cool day here. I feel as though I am wintering in Seattle.
Glad to hear you caught the skunk. Will animal control or DNR be able to deal with it now?
Not much going on here, just finally dewinterizing the 5er for a trip later this month if the rain ever stops.
Have a great day all. Safe travels to those on the road.

Brenda

Good morning all. Well, another cloudy day here. Will the sun ever return?! Guess I'll try to get out and do some things in the yard today despite the gloom and if it rains I'll just have to deal with it! Kathy, glad you got the skunk but hope you can figure out what to do with it! I remember visiting my niece in MA and for some reason I was up wandering around during the night, looked out the window on the front door and was staring down a a skunk! I backed up and went the other way even though I had a door between it and me! Sure didn't want to alarm it!
Donna, glad you finally got to hold Charley even if for only a couple of minutes! She'll come around when she understands that Grandma is an easy mark!
Tina, Mitch and Sue, hope you all have a good day today on your trips. Sounds like the weather isn't cooperating in that part of the country. My sister SE of Denver was dealing with hail last night! I could hear it over the phone hitting on her deck!
Well, guess I should get myself moving here, coffee is on if you would like a cup. Have a great day and be safe if you are on the road.

Good Morning, Its really pretty here right now, but weather report is that shortly after noon we may have a good storm with all the Thunder etc to go with it, but should be over before evening. Which is fine with me, I do appreciate sun early morning, think we all do.

Went and did many errands yesterday among them was buying two new house batteries for RV. For what they cost, they better last awhile :D Also got my hair trimmed, and a few groceries. Groceries included bananas and vanilla wafers for some banana pudding which I have put together already. So salad and banana pudding for lunch :)

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear of the crap you are having to deal with. I am assuming that is why you called off your camping trip, just too upset, if so it might have helped you some to just get away from everything. And stinky dogs, wow, you know it all has to get better soon, so just hang in there ok ?? Donna, hoping Charley really comes around before you have to leave. Everybody seems to have something going on, which is good and nice to read about. Martha and Pat, I do enjoy your post and I agree about the rodeos, what they were and what they have become. We used to have such fun, of course I knew so many then, now when I go to watch my GS its totally different. I do like seeing him in competition though. Barbie, hope your first camping trip in your popup is a great one. We're all waiting to hear all about it.

Well, must not set much longer, break time and wandered on to see what was happening with you all, now back at it before rain comes in.

Have a good day all, and above all stay safe in whatever it is you're doing,
CArol :)

Good Morning,

Sitting here on the banks of the Yellowstone River, actually a branch of it looking out my window at the snow capped peaks of the Absaroka Mts. to my south Clouding up here too and T-storms expected this afternoon. That's okay. Will be here till Monday and weekend looking good. This will be a good relaxing day and kind of getting things organized again. They do have a habit of getting out of place on the road, right

This is a great campground, small but cozy. Down the canyon. High rock walls on both sides of me. Have some pics on my IPad and will get them into Photobucet so you can see what's what. Connection slow this morning though and need to get dressed and take Molly for an excursion. my neighbors left this morning which was too bad as they were really a nice couple from OR, heading to MN. He' originally from MN, so going home. Have a huge 5er and a neat black lab whom Molly wanted to play with so bad, but no go..

Have had a great trip so far and in two more days, will be at my destination, Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone. Will be exploring the park from there and just enjoying being able to relax, sleep in if I want and all the good stuff. Molly has been enjoying this trip too, has had some doggie parks to run around and chase her balls etc. and met some other dogs in the campgrounds. She really enoys exploring places we stop and is learning how to act around people now.

Well, got to get moving here. Will tell more about our adventures later on. In the meantime, have a nice day all. Barbie, enjoy your trip with you new camper. Kathy, hope you get rid of the skunk. I"ve heard throwing a blanket or something over te trap works as far as being able to move it. Better put some screening around the bottom of the shed after this. also read that giving dogs a bath with a little bleach in the water helps with the smell. Good luck.

Nasty weather in Kansas. Hoping everyone is staying safe in these storms! SS isn't getting much use. Gonna have to break out rain gear. Poor farmers haven't been able to plant yet.

Spending time with aunt, uncle, daughter and grands.

Donna, glad you and baby are getting acquainted! I heard a woman tell of visiting her daughter and after a few days little grandson asked 'who is that woman?' Kathy, nasty sibling, lawyer and stinky dogs - what more could a girl want? Seriously, sorry for the headaches! Sue, good to know where you are! CArol, heading west when?

Safe travels and enjoy your day!

Kathy I've heard apple cider vinegar works for the skunk smell, you might not have to do a whole bath just put in a spray bottle and wet him down, the vinegar smell goes away pretty quick and most dogs like the taste. I also found these suggestions which you may know already.

Try dousing a skunked dog with about a cup of vanilla extract mixed in a gallon of water to get rid of skunk odor, says Hazel Christiansen, a longtime professional groomer and former president of the American Grooming Shop Association, in Lewiston, Idaho. Let the dog soak in the solution for about 10 minutes before applying dog shampoo and rinsing.

For the vinegar remedy, mix 2 parts water with 1 part apple cider vinegar, and set the solution aside (the total amount you’ll need to mix depends on the size of your dog). Thoroughly wet your smelly dog’s coat with water. Now, work the vinegar solution through the fur. Let the solution sit for about 5 minutes; then rinse thoroughly. Work carefully and be sure the solution doesn’t drip into your dog’s eyes (it would sting).

If neither of the concoctions above seems to work, here’s one last skunk-odor removing remedy that’s been passed on from one generation of dog lovers to the next. Mix 1 quart hydrogen peroxide, ¼ cup baking soda, and 1 teaspoon dish-washing liquid. Apply this mixture in the same way you would the vinegar solution. The quantities listed should make enough deskunking solution for a medium-size dog (30 to 50 pounds), so use less or more as needed for the size of your dog.

Thanks BJ. I already did the last one on all 3 dogs and it helped. Yesterday they all got skunky again from the smell in the air. I doubt it actually got them but from spraying around the area they picked it up.

good morning :D
looks like a busy breakfast table this morning, gonna have to make another pot of coffee, (and of course we're talking virtual)
I've been getting lazy lately, think I need to jump in the car and go for a drive. I know a couple forum girls are nearby, just might make that a reason for a drive :D
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.
