Good morning gals!
Was supposed to go up and look at a MH about an hour north of me but the seller emailed yesterday that he's showing it to someone today and " it's all he has time for". OOOOOOKKKKKK! Guess you really don't care about turning off potential buyers, do you?
Called my friend and suggested we go do some thrift store shopping in a nearby town, she agreed so we'll be heading out in a bit.
Had a lovely time yesterday at my Niece's wedding shower, wonderful food and good company even though it was terrible weather. At least we were indoors!
Nothing else to report, everyone in the storms' path, please be safe!
Kathy

Sitting in the RV at Cedar Island, NC, waiting on the ferry to take us to the Outer Banks. Misty rain outside, but the next couple days are supposed to be sunny, but chilly., in the 60s. We will be on the Outer Banks about a week.

good morning ladies
raining big time this morning and Maggie whining to go out for a potty and can't. Poor girl. Left the door open and she eventually made a dash out and back.
Guess today I'll do a little house cleaning, some of the nooks and crannies have been neglected.
Nothing else interesting to say this morning, ya'll have a great day, be safe and be healthy

Good morning! Another sunny morning here, possible rain later today! It's amazing how green the grass is all of a sudden! Not all beaten down from the piles of ice and snow!
Liz, so excited to hear of your adventure on the Outer Banks! I left from Cedar Island about 2 1/2 years ago with friends and had a whirlwind day trip up to Hatteras. Our ferry from Hatteras to Ocracoke got pulled and we had to wait until the next day to get to Cedar Island! Luckily, we were able to get a motel room but the whole time I was wishing I was in an RV! We had nothing until we got back to their condo the next day! Another fun adventure!!
I'm hoping to get to Hatteras this spring, geez, in May actually! Need to start doing a little planning, May is next week! Or just wing it!
I got a call from my SIL about 4 yesterday when she got home from work saying she had gotten a tick bite. We figure it got on her when she picked up her new puppy earlier in the day after she took her outside. The pup had a tick on her ear earlier in the week so they are in the yard. Anyway, I took her to the urgent care clinic along with the dead deer tick one of her co-workers had carefully gotten off her. Yuck! They went ahead and put her on an antibiotic just in case. Apparently our county is one in PA with a high count of deer ticks again this year. She will check with her vet to see what's safe to put on a 14 week old tiny pup for ticks and fleas. I'm thinking a collar for SIL! Just kidding!
Kathy, wonder if the guy sold his RV. Is this the one you were really leaning toward? Interesting way to sell! Hope everyone has a good day today and those in the path of these storms, be safe.

Good Morning
As I drink my coffee this morning I am planning our first road trip in our rv. We leave in about 4 weeks for the beach in AL. We will be staying in a state park. The drive in the car takes about 8 hours how much longer should I plan for the rv..? We will not be towing renting a car when we get there. Also any help hints you ladies have for this newbie to rving is appreciated. This will be our first road trip and first time out camping longer than 2 days. Traveling with 3 dogs and 4 humans.
Thanks

I love the Outer Banks, Liz, and am envious of you! I was there two years ago and had a very scary ride on the Ocracoke-Hatteras ferry, so I can understand that they occasionally pull it. I loved the national park campground on Okracoke with the beach next to it. Very windy and rough while I was there, to the point where I had to change sites and move the motorhome so it was facing the wind, but so gorgeous! I guess I need to come back there another year.
I have a very noisy bird in the tree next to my campsite, but he is very good at hiding way at the top behind leaves, so I have not figured out what he or she is. Got my monocular handy, so I keep trying, but as soon as I spot him, he hops behind a branch. Gorgeous day today in northeastern Georgia, so I am going to get my bike out after I eat something. (As you can tell, I slept in again. I have to wait a period of time after I take a certain pill, so no food yet.) The weekend campers should be leaving soon, so I will have the place to myself after a couple more hours.
JRKERMIT, I would add at least 30% more time. How many miles is it? It usually takes me 6 hours to drive 200 miles, but then I take a lot of bathroom and scenic breaks!

I would love to visit the Outer Banks someday. Maybe next year if all goes well. Looking for ward to hearing about your time there, Liz.
Spent last night in an RV park in Paso Robles, on my way to Santa Barbara. After boondocking for 4 days I wanted to hookup and empty tanks. This park is overpriced (49 with GS), the rigs are very close together, and it's not particularly pretty.
I'm feeling very lazy lately, and am way behind on my blog and answering emails. I quit drinking caffeine on doctor's suggestion, and I'm missing it!

Can you take rvs on the ferry? How much does it cost? Can you camp when you get out there?

O'Sharon, this was one that was only about an hour away from me. I don't know if he ever sold it but with his attitude I guess he doesn't care if he does. No, the one I was leaning towards was in MI, but since I found mine today just 2 blocks from home, it's a moot point!

Yes you can take RVs on this ferry. The cost depends on the length. Ours was more because we are also towing a car. Mine was $30 for this 2 hour crossing, Nan's was more. The ferry going north to Hatteras Island is free.

Thanks, Liz-----I like free! But I would love that Okrakoke Campsite, I think, and to be able to look around that old town.
