Good Morning everyone,

The last day of February is upon us and will be a month to remember for a lot of us in terms of weather. Records have been broken all over. Let's hope March starts to herald spring in, although here in northern MI, we may be in for a chilly spring and cool summer due to the extensive ice cover on Lakes Superior, Huron and Michigan. To early to tell just yet they say.

Cooking class day at Hardee Lakes. Be fun to see and hear what gets made. And now that Liz won a DO, we will expect something scrumptious at future GTG's

New washer arrived yesterday. Haven't used it yet. It was so cold from being in cold truck yesterday, they suggested not to use it till it warmed up and I don't really have anything to wash right now. Need to read manual anyway.

Melissa, hope you can start walking on your leg today. I know when I had arthroscopic surgery on mine, I started walking on it he next day, although kept my walker with me for balance. Then used a cane for one more day. Just being safe.

Not sure what's going to happen around here today. Sunny and mid 20's with light wind makes for a nice doggie walking day, maybe over to State Park. Right now it's time to check out he GTG thread and then get the breakfast dishes etc. done. Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, fruit available today. Have a nice day :D

I'm up but not in time to catch Liz and Thistle for their walk. The pups and I will have to make our own way. No going around the lakes this morning. Time to hook up the car and turn north. Ohio here we come. Hope everyone has a great day. I know that the folks here at the GTG will figure a way no matter what the temps and skies do. :)

Good morning to all!

Well, it's a good one and a bad one; good because my head doesn't hurt as much today and bad because DH had to wake me up to get the carpet shampoo because Shooter peed all over the carpeting again. He's been to the vet's and tested and there's nothing wrong with him, I guess he's just a silly boy. So now I have a nice clean area on my carpeting, oh well....

My search for a small mh hasn't been too successful. It seems if they're worth looking at they disappear before I can see them. I have found a 22' Class A down in IN that I hope to go look at next weekend, if it's still there. Not really fancying a "A" but at this point I'll look at anything if it's in the right size and price range. Carrie asked if I was going to sell the TC--NO WAY! I still love my tc but I just feel like I'd like something with a bathroom! So I will become an RV hoarder I guess.

Melissa, hope you are doing well with your surgery. Let us know how things are.

Glad to hear all the goings on at the FL gtg and good to see all the faces!

Got to get going, Cheryl and I are going for breakfast!

TTFN
Kathy

good morning from cool and dreary Arizona. Yep, little rainy weather here, appears to be a day to do inside stuff.
Lots of inside stuff to do of course but I'm really wanting to get down to Verizon and replace my phone. The battery
is shot and buying a new one didn't help it. Disappointed in that respect but I'm due for an upgrade anyway. Have
been enjoying Carolb's company and her crew. She has plans for today and of course my afternoon will be the funeral
for my friend from work.
Need to get thinking about getting dressed, doing some chores and other routine stuff. Ya'll have a great day and be
safe. Hope everyone is staying warm.

Hello there! It’s still cold but next week it’s supposed to start warming up and be in the 50’s by the weekend. I can handle that!

Had the normal week…work and home…repeat X 5. Did have a bit of a disappointment but it’s going to be to my benefit. I talked to the retirement specialist for the state and told him that my projected retirement date was going to be December 8. He asked me if there was any special reason that I wanted that date. I told him that I would be 65 in December and could get on medicare so basically for insurance reasons, plus that would put me at the last pay period of 2015 and I wouldn’t have to worry about any income from the state on 2016 taxes. He told me that it would be better if I worked until the pay period ending January 8. If I even work 1 day in the first quarter of ’16 I will get credit for the entire quarter and that would put me to an even 40 years in the retirement system and raise my monthly check considerably. So I guess I’ll cowgirl up and work another month. I was so looking forward to being done before Christmas.

Tomorrow is Bronc’s first birthday….boy that year went fast! Ryan and Ashley are having his birthday party tonight. Ashley’s parents are here and that enables them to leave early tomorrow so they can get home at a decent time. My mom and sister are going to be coming and staying overnight. I had to pick Bronc up at daycare on Tuesday after work. He hadn’t had a good day. It was a newborn’s first day at the sitter’s and he is just a wee bit jealous! Up until now he was the youngest and had the majority of the lap time with Melissa and he doesn’t like “sharing” her! Then when he got to our house the disappointment continued. He wanted to be in the pots and pans cabinet. Well ceramic lined cookware with glass lids and a ceramic floor aren’t a good combo so he was told NO. Then he decided that the cabinet under the sink with all the cleaning supplies was the place to be…another NO. Of course he wasn’t interested in the cabinet with all the Tupperware where he is allowed full reign. So he had a bit of a tantrum and crawled to the door to the garage and sat there and cried…”Grandma is mean… I wanna leave and this is the door that gets me out of here.”

Enjoying the pictures from the Florida GTG. The food looks outstanding! I’m going to have to give DO cooking a try. DH bought three different sizes several years ago and neither of us have tried them. Have the cookbooks but when I think of using them it’s too late to start the coals. Another thing to put on my retirement to do list.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, DPF I loved your story about Bronc's bad day, he is way smart to say that about the door chosen for his melt down! Sorry about your disappointment on your retirement date, don't you hate doing the right thing when it's not what you planed on!?
Sounds like everyone is enjoying the DO gtg, I cook a lot in cast iron but only in my inside oven. Running late here this morning and better get ready for yoga class. I missed last Sat. and Monday as weather was so yucky and cold. For some reason they don't keep the building very warm, not fun doing yoga with long johns under pants! More snow/ice coming in tonight so going out as much as possible then wait until the promised 60  degree weather promised for Tuesday.

Morning all,

Well they are calling for snow on Sunday, so part of me is hoping for "in like a lion, out like a lamb" and just be done with this winter.

dpf: Poor Bronc, I feel for him loosing the lime light to his new sibling. At times when I tell Chezza no, she'll Chezza look at me and ask why are you breaking my heart and the tears flow and she crawls up to be cuddled. It's just too cute. Bummer you'll miss your desired retirement date but it sounds like there is a reward for doing so. In the long run, I'm sure you'll be happy to have the extra money and after a lifetime of working, 30 days is pretty minor for the return.

Well, my knee is sore, which is to be expected but I can slowly get around the house. Just waiting till I'm rid of my bandages and can get a proper shower. But so far I'm encouraged.

Kathy, we found making the search part of the adventure and planed other events into the day so if the RV inspect was a dud we still had an adventure and a fun day. When you find the right one, everything will just fall in place.

Well it's time to go elevate my leg. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning! Still sneezing and coughing, so won't be going to the Home & Garden Show today. I love seeing and smelling all the flowers and listening to the waterfalls, etc, but I can't smell anything right now anyways and I have no energy to walk around. And I am sure no one wants to hear me hacking up a lung or two, either.

Had pears and cottage cheese for breakfast but my tastebuds aren't working either, so didn't enjoy that much. I hate being sick. That is the downside of working with the public; being exposed to everyone else's germs. Actually, I think I got this from a co-worker who had this crud last week. :( She got it from her kids.

Just laying low today with lots of naps, water, Kleenex, and meds.

Hope you gals in FL keep having fun in spite of the weather! All that DO cooking should warm you right up! Might have to move the FL GTG's into March or April from now on!

Melissa, glad to hear the healing is already happening. I hope it continues, quickly! Trying to be patient is (for me) so difficult when I know I need to be careful.

I'm working an extra day this week. They screwed up - not thinking - and the new camphost that I'm to train would have either been working 3 days before we worked together - or they'd have no one working until then. So I added a day. I'll probably take it easier on the days there are two of us - and let him take the lead. I hate when anyone stands over me - so I'll leave him to do most and let him ask me questions if he has any. He was originally scheduled to arrive tomorrow, but now, because of the bad weather and roads, we're looking at Tuesday - and working with me Wed. He's not going to have any time to settle in! But it's his first workamping experience and he's excited.

My current fellow workamper wasn't going to leave till Tuesday, but looks like they'll pull out Monday. I think if the wife had her way (she says she's ready) they'd leave tomorrow.

And the volunteer coordinator stopped by and said they got a glowing report on me as a camp host - he's going to make a copy of it - plus it will go on their "wall of fame" - which I never noticed - will have to go check that out :)
