Good Morning from the Sunny 45th,

Sunshine and clear skies here this morning. Chilly -9 out there though. Miss Molly actually let me sleep in this morning :)
We both had a 3a.m. potty call, but after I boosted her up in bed with me at her 5a.m. wake up routine, she curled up with me and went back to sleep.

Breakfast bar is open this morning as I went shopping. No cereal or oatmeal though as I quit eating them. Too much hidden sugars. Also got a few other erands and my laundry done as well. Molly got another new ball, so was playing with it yesterday afternoon while I pushed a little light snow off the drive. Then later went to see some friends who own a motel here. They were in a roll over accident on Sunday. Both okay but truck is totaled. Wanted to see Molly, so took her along. She met their little Shi Zu, who decided he was outmatched size wise and beelined for the sofa, where he stayed, but later when he got a little braver, got into a growling/barking match with Molly. Talk about racket. We don't know what they were discussing but they sure went at it

Not sure what's on the agenda today. Kind of in the mood to take a drive. Shall see. Going to be a nice afternoonn to take Molly to the park for a walk too. Weather going downhill temp wise after today. Will work on puzzle for awhile too.

Glad to see so many posted yesterday and I see signs of spring fever out there. We are all waiting. In another month, we will be getting more serious, although up here, it's more like two before snow is gone and we can have snow in May too as Carolb can attest :) But days get longer and warmer.

Okay, time to let others post. Have a wonderful day all.

Good Morning all, Sue I love how you find places to take Molly to socialize. Other than Rural King or Pet Co there isn't much chance other than walks to get her out. I bought her a Woody Woodpecker stuffed toy that does the laugh and she is fascinated by it.

I like a little oatmeal in the morning but can't eat much as it seems to zoom my sugar. If I eat some, I use the real oats, not the little package things plus I have an egg with it and I don't add sugar, just good cinnamon and a little milk. I had no idea there was such a difference in cinnamon! I bought some Vietnamese cinnamon and wow it is good. Cinnamon is supposed to be good at keeping blood sugar regulated or something. I have hypo or hyper-hypoglycemic problems so I watch sugar and carbs.

We have another couple of days before the cold blasts us again so think I'll get out today and do some retail therapy and meet friends for lunch.

Good Morning.. cloudy and cold here... but watch out it will be colder come Thursday!
I use Quaker old fashioned oatmeal long cooking and put frozen blue berries and a little milk on it... really should have some protein but do not do any... I do not like the instant in a package as it is sooo sweet... not sure what the difference is with steel cut oats... are they better for you?
Have to get more spine injections... not looking forward to that... want to get at least enough better to go north to help with Jere... my friend T cannot take off from work because he is not a blood relative... he is actually in a holding pattern but time is ticking...
oh my Boston has gotten 6 ft of snow in the last month... wow where will they put it!
I had old frozen turkey and fresh steamed vegetables yesterday oh they were good...
Sue it sounds like Molly is a real joy... Shadow simply does what I do!
How nice to have Carolb to visit with... looking forward to spring... she moves around so fast!! I do remember those days!
Have a great day everyone...

Good morning,

Sure wish the sun would come out today, it's so gray and gloomy I'm getting depressed. My snow paths to and from the barns are now ice thanks to that last thaw/refreeze and somedays I have to kick and bang on the barn doors to get them opened. I hate this weather.

Found another MH I want to go look at, it's up in Schaumburg. Think I will tell the owners let's meet at the police station. If they really want to sell it, they'll agree; if not then I'm not going. I think it's currently at a storage lot somewhere. I'm waiting for my friend Vicki to call me back to see if she'll be available to go look at it with me on Sunday. I'm sure as heck not going alone.

Not much else of note here today. I have to call my friend Anne about her dog Maggie, who is my Shooter's great aunt and isn't doing so well. We were messaging on FB but my connection isn't too good this morning so I told her I'd just call her.

Take care,
Kathy

We currently have freezing rain with snow mixed in. Not a good combination. The plows are out in full force putting salt and chemicals on the roads out here. Luckily, I don't have to drive far to work.
My dad called yesterday and wanted me to come by later this week and take him out to get some things. I told him I would pick up what he needed last night after work and drop it off, since the weather was looking bad all the rest of the week. Glad I got that out of the way last night!

Still thinking about going to the RV and Camping Show in Mpls on Friday but will see how the weather and roads are then.

Should be getting my two recliners today. Missed the FedEx guy the other day to sign for them. They are small swivel recliners and won't take up a lot of room but should look nicer and be more comfortable than my futon. Will also fit better in the studio (if they ever get that done!).

Hope you all have a warm, safe, and enjoyable day! :D

Good Morning from the warm desert of Quartzsite! Got into the 80s yesterday - almost too warm! Wish I could send warmer temps to some of you because I really do feel for you all in the cold and gloom.

I love watching dogs play with their toys! When my daughter's dog got his collar off 2 weeks after the removal of the stones, he played with his ball by himself for 90 minutes!!

I had a quick visit with Sheila and Kerry yesterday while we waited for LeRoy to arrive. It was so good to get in the Slingshot and just drive it a short distance to the trailer!! The rewiring took a long time with snags running it through the hitch channel, soldering, etc. I spend most of my time just being available for any extra hands he needs! I finally got to load the SS and the wheel stops weren't in the right spot so L moved them where he could. Not real happy with this 'custom' build, but love the mechanics of the bed lowering and the great, easy tie down system. My loading it is another story as the sides have about 2 inches of clearance at the trailer wheels. And now I can go back to being one of these people who can't back a trailer worth a darn!!

I have all the big chores to do today before I head to the casino in Parker. Carolb is meeting me there and if L doesn't come tonight, he'll meet us in Havasu tomorrow. SS repair is scheduled for 9:30 tomorrow morning - Woohoo!! Firework Festival in Havasu begins Thursday night.

Everyone have a great day - especially our birthday girl, Ava!!

It's about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday's mid 70's. It was nice to go without a jacket. I started a pot of turnips with some smoked meat we picked up yesterday. We went to Ville Platte yesterday to bring the 4-wheeler. Ville Platte has a number of meat markets that sell smoked meat and sausage. Harold wanted me to go with him and drive which is unusual. I had never been to the place and he managed to get us lost twice. Note to self, bring a GPS when you don't know where you're going. He said one day they are going to find him lost in East Texas like one of our neighbors.

Kathleen, there was a discussion on here a year or so ago about steel cut oats. I had never heard of them so had to try them. They must be harder to digest because my system didn't process them well. Harold use to eat oatmeal all the time and it seemed we were alway out. I decided to buy some at Sam's about the same time he almost quit eating them. We still have most of the box left.

I need to go to town but I'm not moving very fast. I have to go see about my glasses in the morning so will probably wait and go then.

Martha

If you avoid instant (processed) oatmeal you don't get sugars. There are none hidden in the whole grain oats oatmeal I purchase. I add a touch of honey and cinnamon, otherwise I don't like it - but that's all. I didn't care for the steel oats, either, when I tried them.

Afternoon here and things have been crazy yesterday and today. I'm trying to train the Visitor Center people now - but that's a disaster. Found out today that the other camphost is finished the end of this month :) We've been doing much better since his apology, but I won't be sorry to see him go - just hope someone is coming to replace him. Haha - I can train them and have them be writing about me instead of me about someone.

Another simply gorgeous day here. And I've given the forum address to a couple ladies that I hope join.

I've tried the steel cut oatmeal and love it...but a friend of mine tried them and she couldn't eat them so guess
perhaps there is a problem with digestion...I too add fruit and cinnamon and brown sugar
