G'morning all :)

Eastcoasters sleeping??? Wow, been a while since I opened MC :o I'll be moving on to Q today, so I'm pretty hyped up about that!

Anita, you're having such a blast with that new toy! Good to get those bugs worked out, so that 500 mi checkup is important...small world, right! Kathleen, hooray for you! Glad to hear you're giving your fitbit a workout, which of course means you're getting a workout  Sleep is good, so keep at it!

Okay, need a few things from WM, quick visit with Mollie, then off to Q! Y'all have a great day, & be safe always 8-)

Good Morning,

Carolb, so wish I was meeting you in Q, even for one night!! Safe travels to CA!

Kathleen, I'm hoping 2 weeks in Q will get me started on walking again! I have a pedometer on my phone that I thought would motivate me - not! I'm so proud of Sheila when I see her long walks.

Really didn't need the cold RZR ride yesterday - brrrr. I knew I had a couple projects in here today, but then I remembered a couple things needing to be installed on the Slingshot as well. L will be over at 10.

I'm putting a post in Pets about my daughter's dog and medical issues - looking for opinions and experience.

Have a good day all!

Good Morning
Freezing drizzle this morning but temps headed into 40s. Grocery shopping later, shuffling papers, and remembering to move around some (need to get step count up on FitBit) are about all I have planned today - some washing if I get a little more ambitious. Sadly dull life at the moment. I need to at least see some sunshine but not likely again today.
Wishing all of you a much more interesting day.

We made a decision on an extended care facility last night. There are a couple questions either we forgot with this one or don't remember the answers though, so Pam will call this morning and if they get answered correctly, tell them Maurine and her husband want the available unit the end of this month. I'm exhausted from my week so far. I'll be leaving Thursday. Pan will have her plate overflowing with work, care and getting the move ready. I'm trying to convince her to have her sister fly in next week. Judy is a great organizer and would handle the sorting, packing and moving with ease. Pam took the last two days off work, but went back today. Maurine and I will relax. I'm making the crock pot pork chops Liz posted today for dinner. Lunch will be soup or leftovers. Hopefully Maurine will relax as this has been stressful for her, also. Thinking about moving. Thinking about her husband who doesn't seem to be improving in rehab. Not getting answers from the social worker at rehab, etc. Pam will be wishing on getting those answers today from work. She and I both tried yesterday and got no where.

I'll probably sleep my first 24 - 48 hours at Q.

The sun was actually out for a few minutes, but I don't think the temp has reached 20 yet, that's above zero :D :D I can't imagine Sue's -22 they had yesterday. I hope you get some rest soon Beth, dealing with the type of problems you have encountered must be very stressful. Sarah hope it warms up we are supposed to reach mid-forties by weekend maybe it will move your way.

I had good news at the dentist about the tooth I chipped, it will need a crown but not necessary for awhile!!! Meanwhile the acupuncture seems to be working on what they still suspect as being some type of nerve pain.

Anita I posted some information I hope will be of help for your daughters dog in the pet section.

It doesn't look like we will have any sun again today. It is 49 but feels cold and damp. We aren't suppose to get any rain today but the road looks wet. It's 70% chance of rain tomorrow. We don't need more rain.

Sarah, thanks for the fitbit information. I'm messing with papers too. Last night after one of the cats knocked the pile down again I finally filled it all. I have to be more organized in January or I lose some of the tax papers that come in the mail. I need to call and see if I have to take money out of my 401K this month or do I have all year to withdraw it. The way I read the information, I have all year.

I made hamburger buns this morning. The recipe called for 2 packages of yeast and not to let them rise. They are pretty tasteless with no yeast taste. Back to the drawing board. lol

Martha do you mean this year or last, if last you are too late...according to this from Schwab.
"Your first RMD must be taken by April 1 of the year after you turn 70½. Subsequent RMDs must be taken by December 31 of each year. If you don’t take your RMD, you’ll have to pay a penalty of 50% of the RMD amount

I will be 70 !/2 on the 29 of this month so guess I have until April of 2015. Somewhere I was reading that if I do that I would have to take 2014 and 2015 in 2015. We aren't talking about a lot of money here but don't want to have to pay more taxes. I would hate to have to live on that amount.

We have Sick Bay here at our mini gtg in McIntosh. CArol has been sick the past three days due to what she thought was from eating chili. Not so, it must have been a virus, 'cause I now have the same symptoms, although a milder version than CArol. That's what sisters are for…sharing, right? Tina has been great, helping out with store runs and dog-walking.

Also last evening, Gloria arrived. We knew she was coming but weren't sure exactly when. Hopefully CArol and I will be feeling better and no longer contagious so we can all have some fun. We are hoping to make a day trip to the Tampa RV show sometime this week or weekend.

Well those store runs for others also gave me a chance to be sure that I had some Ginger Ale, plain Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup and other items...just in case. :) I also remembered to start taking my Pro-biotics.....I am not good at taking supplements but figured anything that would help my immune system might be worth remembering. :o

Smart move! And hopefully by buying stuff and taking the Probiotics you won't need the ginger all, soup, etc.

Sorry to learn Liz and CArol area bit under the weather. Hope you are better soon. In the meantime, Tina will have to keep Gloria out of trouble while both stay healthy.

Martha - I hate the RMD, had to start mine about 3 years ago and it has been painful from every angle: tax increase, poor timing on sales and the lack of good opportunity to reinvest (at least at what it was earning where it was).

On the FitBit, if you or others are interested, you can use their software FREE even if you do not own one of their devices - just go to the FitBit Log-in page, scroll to bottom and set up an account. You can manually log whatever you want to track: steps, other activities, food, sleep etc. I found the visuals to be very helpful.
