Good Morning all,

Mom Nature arrived full force here last night and into this morning so far. Wind and blowing snow as well as at least 6 inches of light fluffy snow. Visibilities are down to maybe a mile or less. Molly and I have an appt. with her vet this morning, but I think that is going to get cancelled. Looks like every school district in the northern half of the state closed today. I can just imagine that skiers and snowmobilers dancing for joy.

So I guess there is no question as to what I will be doing today. Cranking up the snow blower and getting to work, but not till it stops. So in meantime can stay in and work on jigsaw puzzle or whatever else I decide to do. Do have a repair to do on my snowblowers canopy, so may do that Plus there is the four legged kid to amuse. She already gave me my morning laugh just watching her eat breakfast. She gets a mouthful of food from her bowl, leaves a trail from there into my living room here, sits on the floor and eats and then picks up the trail on her way back to the bowl  Maybe I should just dump the food on the floor in here and forget the bowl

Made a post In the GTG section yesterday to see if anybody down in IN or IL would be interested in a GTG near Shipshewana, IN. I don't know anything about those states, so maybe some of you can chime in or get the thing moving Sounds like it would be fun and there have been suggestions made to have a GTG down there anyway. The MI GTG is in place in south east part of the state. See the thread for info. It' hard to think summer GTG up here when the ground is blanketed by white, the TT is covered up etc.

Off to get this day moving. Keep warm, especially those of you in area where you are getting cold you are not used to. Your cold will leave long before mine does. If you are in the SW, enjoy the nice weather.

I guess everyone is too cold to respond today. It is cold here in FL today, but not as bad as yesterday. No freezing temperatures over night at least, and the wind has died down.

Today is laundry day for us here, which means a trip to the truck stop where they have massage chairs outside the laundromat, lol.

Hope everyone manages to stay warm today and have some fun.

G'morning all :)

Wow, hope you easterners are finding ways to keep warm! Was thinking last night that I don't know if I'll ever be able to stand that kind of winter weather again--may start looking for a little house to buy here in AZ :?

Barbie, sorry about the cousin situation :( You sure don't need that...Sarah, hope all is well now that the tooth is out...BJ, how is your pain? Acupuncture helping I hope!...Anita, how was the big trip to Yuma in the SS? Cause any accidents :o

Had a pop-in visit from Beth the other evening! Q gtg starting next weekend already? I'll be heading to CA--Sharon's area--to visit Piper's "other mom" for a few days, then finding my way back to the gtg. Can't wait to see many of the forum family!

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good Morning!

Sue, I've often wondered why dogs get their food and then haul it off somewhere else to eat! Never saw one drop tidbits along the way! Carolb, enjoy your CA visit - see you soon! Liz, I'm afraid people would be yelling at me to get out of the massage chair and empty machines - I'd probably fall asleep!

Had a day of clearing some of the clutter in here yesterday - more today I guess. Will go to post office and storage.

Planning an April trip with the Slingshot to Walnut Creek, CA (near San Fran) to meet my Washington daughter and grandson. Son-in-law works there. I asked her to meet me somewhere for a visit since I'm not wanting to drive to Washington this year. This is the grandson suffering from depression, but is doing well and getting caught up with school work problems. Looking forward to driving the California coast!

Have a wonderful day whatever you are doing. Those is the cold stay warm and be careful!

Good Morning, I think little Molly is just really smart, she is leaving a trail so she can find her way back to the food bowl! Carolb if your moving I vote for CA coast :D Anita could zoom in and out to visit and it is such a nice place to visit. :) Pain in my mouth area not much better, had acupuncture Monday when the dentist couldn't find a problem but so far, still hurting. Just so weird as it doesn't hurt all the time, just when I move my mouth or tongue, after I start eating though thank goodness the pain stops after first few bites but makes me hesitate on eating. They keep saying maybe some kind of nerve thing. I really don't want to loose anymore weight. Has anyone heard of his type of thing?
I can just picture the scene at the truck stop with the ladies lounging in the massage chairs! I think the truckers will have to truck on down the road to the next stop if they want a massage.

The sun is out here and after today think it is supposed to warm up enough so we can have some freezing rain. ACK

I refuse to divulge how late I slept in today.

Actually, I have been working to schedule and make reservations for this summer. I am going to head into Ontario after the Frankenmuth GTG and visit Tobermory at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula (gorgeous place if you have never been) and places nearby, and then northwest of Georgian Bay near a tiny town between Huntsville and North Bay where my great-grandparents lived in the late 1800s. Not a real big choice of campgrounds, especially when I need free WiFi while I am there. Then I am headed northwest over Lake Huron and ending up at Sault St, Marie and St. Ignace for a few days.

Got all the stuff laid out to make my mesh curtain for the cab area so the sun will not send me into a migraine headache, but where I can still see out and watch what everyone in the campground is doing. More later if it works out.

Sue, our Schnauzer had funny eating habits. She used to pick up pieces of dry food from her bowl and then carry them over to the family room carpeting to eat them. Obviously, this took a very long time with the smaller pieces, so we switched her to a dry food with slightly bigger chunks! Never messy, but just strange--she carried just one piece at a time, then put it down on the carpeting, picked it up again, and finally ate it. She did this for 16 years!

Afternoon here in Normal... did not sleep any last night... much pain... just like I had sat on the cold deck but I didn't... I laid down at 7 and rested until 9...

Oh I remember when Shadow was a puppy... he grazed on his food... there were days I could not get up and stay up... he would go get a few pieces and jump back on the bed eat them slowly then go back for a drink maybe a toy... he stayed by me no matter where I was... That is such a cute state Sue... enjoy...

The gadget I got was a fitbit flex... I am hoping it will help me be more active... so far only on my second day... this shows like my rheumatologist said I am not eating enough... and I kept track of everything even the coffee mate... 16 oz of black coffee is 9 calories... lol so anyone want to be a friend for support and has fitbit let me know...

Glad Sarah is on the mend, BJ this must pass soon... wow this seems to be the season to freeze and not feel good... Spring come fast and fix all of us!

Peaches also prefers to take dry food out and onto the carpet. And if I mix some "good" stuff in, she sucks it off the dry food and spits the dry out. Then when she realizes that's all that's left, she usually picks it all up and eats it. Sometimes that picking up job falls to me, because she decides to wait to see if more "good" stuff will appear, until she's too hungry to care and eats anyway. Lucky for her I have the throw rug for her to move the pieces to now.

I'm thinking of getting one of the coop sites at the Benson Escapees park - put myself on their wait list - could be 2-5 years - but I'm not necessarily interested in a spot before then. Price is good and I love AZ. I understand those looking to come here, too. California coast? Someone have a sugar daddy or mommy to pay for that? And would have to be southern coast, for me :)

Things are going well taking care of my childhood family friend - me fixing meals, etc ... haha ... They are actually shopping for things I suggested so I could try out a couple recipes. Should be interesting. Liz provided one of the recipes, and it sounds delicious, so hopefully we all like these foods when I cook them. My own guinea pigs :) And Peaches is amazing me. Just a bit ago she barked and I started to yell at her, then realized Maurine was calling for me from the other room. Peaches heard and was passing along the message. She shut up as soon as I headed in to see what was needed. I guess I should have her certified as a therapy dog. Then she really could come with me everywhere - and she's the one giving herself that position.

Last night on one of my FB forums, the volunteer coordinator for Chiricuhua National Monument posted an immediate camphost position open there, until May or so. I replied on FB I could help Feb and March - if he could break it up. He had me fill out the application last night, called me this morning, we talked and I'll be heading there to start on or before 1/30 until the end of March. The elevation there will make it cooler, just as I'm happy about this warm weather. Probably highs in 50's and 60's and lows in 30's, sometimes 20's. But it's a beautiful location, lots of hiking to do and birds to see. Not far from where I just came from. How quickly my plans can change. I was not planning to come to Phoenix till March, now I'm trying to get a brunch together for Sunday because I might not get back here!

Maybe you gals need to carpet your doggy bowls! We had a dog that did that too.

Only need a couple million to afford a small house on the coast! :o Even the condos start at around $300,000.

My car died today. My friend Steve brought it to his mechanic and left me with one of his cars, which also barely runs, so won't be going too far this weekend.

Seems much colder today than yesterday but the sun was out. Supposed to warm up later next week tho.

BJ, I hope you can find out what is wrong with your mouth. Very strange!

Anita, when you go along the coast, don't run any cars off into the ocean by distracting them!

Have a good night! :D
