Tuesday late arrivals?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday late arrivals?

Postby gingerK » Tue Dec 02, 2014 10:22 am

My goodness! It's already after 9 a.m. here and no one's started the coffee yet?

Getting my new refrig delivered on Friday. Only day I could be somewhat available to wait for them. They'll also take away the old one for free so that's good.

Paying bills and need to go grocery shopping today but can't buy a lot as I have to empty out the old refrig. Thank goodness I have another one to use.

Cleaned out and defrosted my big chest freezer last night, actually I was looking to see where I put the ham I knew I had for Christmas. I'm definitely NOT going through another holiday without doing something, Thanksgiving wasn't much fun. Told DH last night I was cooking a ham and fixings for the two of us at least. And I'm not working on Christmas (yet!).

That's all from here, everyone stay well and safe, good travels!

When I post, you know it is very late in the morning!! :o

After my three week and 3,000 miles drive from Napa to here at Fort Clinch, Florida, I am SO glad to just be able to sit for two weeks. Whew! I love traveling, but having to push it to get somewhere is not my idea of fun. I did stop for days here and there along the way and got to do a lot of sightseeing, but it was still more driving than I like to do. The next four months here in Florida will be a lot less stressful.

Might go for a bike ride to post office today, but maybe not. Taking it easy.

Good morning! Unusual for mc to start so late, Kathy! Probably most of us in the NE are getting ready for the ice today! I need to do a couple of things but think it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Don't have to go out on the roads so better to just tuck in and do stuff around the house. I went out yesterday and bought a new coffee pot. My old one just finally quit yesterday and anyone who knows me knows that isn't a good thing! So an early Christmas present to myself! I took advantage of the Cyber Monday sale and got a good deal! So if it was going to quit I guess this was a good time! Kathleen, hope you had a good birthday. Ava, glad you are home and safe. Hope all the gals in CA are safe. Sounds like the rain may cause some problems even though they need it so badly. Hope everyone has a good day and stay safe.

Good Morning,

O'Sharon, I am another one that has to have her coffee in the morning! Kathy, I hope you get a work break at Christmas!

Nothing new here. Cloudy and cool so not sure we'll ride today. I know L wants to ride so I'm trying not to complain, but the desert has been pretty boring and the trails very rough.

Finished my little bit of Christmas shopping online last night - daughters are taking care of some things for me.

Hope you all have a good day and safe travels to those on the road!

I am having my coffee from my new Keurig... how nice that is... must figure out which boxes of coffee I like... Keurig gave me two with the coffee registration... and I have another that Keurig gave me for something else... will be addicted and not want to use my insert for my old canned coffee... life is good...

I slept until 9:20. I couldn't believe it. Harold had a dentist appointment this morning so he wasn't around making a lot of noise. Between him and his friends calling at 6:00 am I am usually up early.

I wanted to bake a cake but didn't have the mix I wanted so I made the sausage cheese balls using crescent rolls instead of Bisquick. It's been a long time since I made them using Bisquick so don't remember if these are that much better.

My son did a big update to my Apple computer when he was here for Thanksgiving. Things look different and everyday I have some issue with it. This morning I had to log into the forum and my keyboard and mouse didn't want to work. Yesterday it was with trying to get something to print.

The temperatures are in the 50's today instead of the 80's. I guess the people that are colder would like to trade. Tomorrow it will be back in the 70's for the rest of the week.

Better go get my cake mix while I'm in the mood to cook. That doesn't happen often.

It's cloudy here, but not raining at moment. We are expecting rain today but only half an inch or so. I saw that much in minutes in MN on our summer visit in 08. There are small stream advisories out and Roseville has streams but we are up on a hill and I don't think the rain will amount to much here. We are off to see a plastic surgeon in two hours to see if he can improve on Mel's palate situation. Hope roads are not too bad with rain then. Have a good day all.

Velda, I hope the plastic surgeon can do something to help Mel with his situation.

The weather is gorgeous in Ocala and we've been sitting outside from morning through late afternoon every chance we get. We need to plan a GTG here.

Just got home from work on my split shift. Will go back at 5pm.
Warmer here today than yesterday but windy out, so feels colder. Some flurries coming down but not amounting to anything. Will start warming up toward the weekend tho. I washed my car on the way home and then put a big red bow on the front grill.

Also made a little wreath last night for my apartment door. I will share pics on another thread later.

Hope you all have a great day!

Had to chuckle Barbie when you said it was warmer! Since you are in MN warmer is a relative term. Warmer to you may still be below freezing while here in CA might be 70's! We are cooler here (50's) but that would be shorts and tshirts weather per my MN son!
Plastic surgeon was very nice. He said he wants to consult with Dr Luu, the ENT surgeon before making a suggestion among at least 4 possible options. He gave us a better timeline saying damage from radiation tends to get worse for at least 8 mo out from end of radiation ( which for Mel was late Sept 2013), so he is still in first 6 months of beginning of healing from radiation and he says the longer Mel can stand to wait, the better the chance of success. Because Mel starts prostate radiation in January, it is likely he will have to wait until at least late spring because this surgery may be a pretty major surgery to reconstruct the back of his throat where it shrunk back from radiation and scarring. We see the plastics surgeon in two months to see where're things stand and learn what he and Dr Luu decided was the best plan for success. So onward with the holidays and hope for a future improvement surgery. He gave Mel some goals with his mouth stretcher device which will help the surgery to have a better chance of success.
Rained both coming and going but we are not floating yet!

I've gotten to know more people boondocking here at the casino than I often do in a season at a campground. Some walks with Peaches don't go far but take a long time :-) . There's going to be some kind of "taste of" on the casino grounds and a couple people have asked me to go. One of the guys is disabled and on a really tight budget and didn't want to go alone, so I agreed to go with and I think a couple others, too. It's free to go in, but I'm guessing the food isn't.

The RV has an appt for Thursday, so tomorrow I'll make a long list to discuss and have taken care of. I'm guessing it won't be all done in one day. But we shall see.

Today I had an eye exam and did all the extra tests and my eyes are healthy and my prescription the same now for over two years. (It improved two years ago!)

And I paid too much for a car wash today, but some of the dirt was refusing to come off. They did it by hand and did a pretty good job, but the car will never look new again. Haha it didn't look new when I bought it. It's a good little pos. Now the RV needs a bath. There's a guy in Arizona City that does a good job, but I'm not intending to go there till maybe February. Decisions, decisions.

I'll quit rambling now...
