Rain, rain go away

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rain, rain go away

Postby Oma » Tue Nov 18, 2014 6:58 am

Morning all,

It's 55* here in central Fl and has been raining since 4 pm yesterday. High today is supposed to be 58 and dropping to Mid 30 tonight Picking up my mil today at the airport. No mil jokes here. Really do like her :D

I try to read forum at least twice a week but sometimes life just gets in the way. Excited about new fur babies and award winning fur babies. Beth stay safe. Wishing everyone warmer weather or at least clear roads.

Yogurt for breakfast if anyone wants some. Wish I had some oatmeal!

Blessings,
Oma/Vicki

Good Morning Vickie and all,

Be glad you are just having rain and cooler temps Vickie. We are under a Winter Storm Warning here for 8+ inches of snow and blowing and drifting. I can barely see my neighbors house across the road at the moment. Temp is 17 degrees not counting windchill.

So will be good day to stay in. Need to clean house anyway and have a couple projects that I have. Even wanting to do. Working on a jigsaw puzzle too.

Carolb, looks like you may be hanging in PA for a bit unless you can skirt around this storm. I'm sure you are enjoying spending time with O'Sharon. Beth, hope you are having decent driving weather and got out of where you were with no issues.

Need to play catch up here and see what all's been going on. KnoW Kathleen is getting excited about here upcoming GTG and weather is supposed to moderate by then too. Looking forward to hearing about Anita's Polar Bear adventures.

Have a god day everyone, keep warm, dry or whatever today. IIrmi, safe travels to you and Steve too.

Good morning

For those who know that I am not a morning person, I am up at 6! Had complimentary coffee delivered so I could get the day going. We fly to Churchill this morning. The cold some of you got was here first so ice has formed along Hudson Bay. The polar bears have started to leave so sounds like we will need some really good luck!

The food here at the Fort Garry hotel is absolutely the best!!

Out of time so safe travels---especially thinking of Beth and Carolb.

Mornin' Ladies and all that follow.
I know rain can be a bother Vicki, but I'll trade you one day of rain for the record "low high temperature" (huh? :) ) that could occur today. High expected is 21*

Sue cant' wait to see pics of the new fur baby. If you don't have a photobucket account send them to me & I'll get you links for posting (can you tell I love furkids? - don't we all ?)

Anita have fun in Churchill. Wave Hi! to us if you see the camera for the Churchill live streaming camera

Kathleen - I'm still hoping to make it for a bit on Saturday, but still waiting to see what _ _ it hits the fan this weekend at work and if the new boss wants me on deck.

Stay safe & warm everyone - especially if you're cold areas. Maybe the only ones who are warm are heading to Mexico (what? No Baja babes again this year?).

Good Morning All, Sue for once it is colder here in So. IL than MI :( we are at 12 degrees. AcK!! Our average high is supposed to be 55, we'll be luck to see 25 today. I'm so happy to hear you are 'expecting'!
Mine seem undaunted by the cold, I didn't let Mitzi out this morning as she is not good about coming in when called and I definitely did not want to go out after her, thank goodness for piddle pads. Toby is still not eating/drinking on his own but his funk seems to have lifted somewhat so hoping he's coming around. While reading a Poodle forum I saw someone say they had a dog from the person I bought Toby from, I contacted them and found his dog is a litter mate After comparing notes we found they have very similar personalities, not good with other dogs and very shy with new people, but so far his dog does not have floating knee (Patella) issues like Toby.
Thinking of Beth as she tries to escape the bitter cold, safe journey. Anita you may need a nap this afternoon! Hope the bears cooperate and you get lots of good pictures. Carolb, I'm trying to get the warmer weather to get here in time for your visit! Vickie,I'll trade you oatmeal for your 30 degree weather! Cheryl I'll try to get some pictures posted of Mitzi, you won't believe how she has grown!! OF course a lot of it is hair, lots and lots of hair that I brush everyday!! I see a haircut in her near future.
They are having big sales today at Macy 's I may have to cheer myself up this gloomy day

Good morning,

I have oatmeal....everywhere. Yesterday, I cleared off my kitchen counters so I could paint the walls. I set everything on the dinette table. Didn't think there was anything edible there that would tempt Thistle, but I forgot about the box of oatmeal. Do you know how easily the top of an oatmeal box comes off?

Cold and windy this morning with colder temps predicted tonight. Then it will start to warm back up for the weekend. I'm sitting at the RV place again, getting some more things done inside. Clear window for the door so I can see outside is one item. Shade for that has already been installed.

Wishing everyone warmer days and safe travels on the roads.

Good Morning to All - we were so glad that last night we didn't have to run the furnace and this morning I got up and put on shorts. What a difference 286miles south can make.
Yep we are in San Carlos Mexico right on the Gulf of California! Beautiful weather in the mid to low 80s during the day. Not rubbing it in just sharing. We ate lunch at a restuarant on the beach after we got here yesterday.
One of the most uneventful crossings we've ever had. And most of the road has been resurfaced - so so far so good. Today we are going into the bigger town here to get a TelCel stick [internet] right now I'm using the parks which is pretty good. But I want a secure internet for later. A friend of ours from Idaho pulled in here just after we got here. Good to see him again.
I did a short update on the blog yesterday - http://lifeinbrowncounty.blogspot.com and will do a more comprehensive one later. The Rv park we are in is US$22 a day - full hook ups, wifi, cable TV 30amp electricity and right across the street from the beach. Any one care to join us?
Drive careful Beth - hate to see you on the road now. And it was freezing in south Arizona yesterday when we left - so come on down here.

Good Morning Everyone !!! Weather around the country seems to be COLD, so is Florida and expected to get colder. I know, I know, but remember this is sunny Florida. My only real problem with it, is my warmer clothing, jackets etc. are about 50 some miles south of where I'm at. If it wasn't for the cold wind out there, I wouldn't be so cold when Maggie, loving this weather wants to smell each blade of grass and just enjoy being outside, while I'm getting chilled to the bone. I shall survive .

Tomorrow is last (I hope) eye dr appointment with this group of drs, I leave here tomorrow too, my BIL will drive me back to Lake Wales. They are leaving Thursday or Friday for Savannah, Tn for Thanksgiving. I will spend this one with my DD and family. My grandson will be home from service for holiday, anxious to see him. I'm excited about going back to my home(rv), seems ages. After tomorrow, will also know better the time I will go back up to NC and renew my drivers lic. Really anxious for that !!!
Might feel like a real adult person again  hmmm not to sure I ever was though, oh well

I look outside at the dreary looking day it is and thinking about Beth and where she is at and hoping the roads allow her a safe passage out of that place, knowing that if she has to stay until the week end, she will be really antsy , or I know I would :D

Have a good day, think its a good one for a good book here,(now that I can really see again) :)
Stay safe whatever you choose to do with this day,
CArol :)
Liz and Carol snuck in , Liz, I'm still laughing, yes, I know how easy those tops come off, didn't find out the way you did though :D Carol, its so nice that one of our group can say they are warm, in shorts yet. Good for you, wishing for you and Bill, safe and Healthy travels.

Good morning everyone!

Vicki, my hubby loved his MIL as well. Have fun while she's visiting. Sue, stay inside and stay warm. I've seen pictures on the news of the lake effect snows and it's just crazy. Anita, hopefully you'll still have a chance to see the polar bears. Cheryl, I hope your boss lets you have the weekend off so you can join the GTG at Kathleen's. BJ, did you ever order the pendant you told us about? Liz, I remember from my parents house how easily the top of the oatmeal comes off, but it was in my hand. I can't even imagine the mess, but I'll bet Thistle had a big smile on his face! LOL! Carol, I'm so glad you're warm and happy in Mexico. Wish it were possible to bottle the warmth up to send north. CArol, you must be so excited to have your last eye appointment and then getting your license renewed. You've been through so much this past year that you deserve easy sailing from here on out. Beth, will you be able to leave today?

Our plans have changed. It's just as cold, if not colder by a few degrees south of us, that we've decided to ride out the cold spell for a couple more days here in NC. We're paid up through this time next week, so we're planning on getting out of here Thursday. It's real breezy here, too, so between the cold and winds, we're going to stay put.

Donna, you snuck in, too! I'll check your post to see what happened. I've been worried about you.

Good Morning... oatmeal and coffee inside of me!!
Carolb I ordered up better weather and we will have above freezing Fri - Mon... how is that for a positive report...
We had bright sunshine for a while this morning but very cold... we may break a record for the low high here also...
I got up in the night and the wool rug in front of my kitchen sink was very wet... could not understand what went on... I looked inside the dishwasher and it was over flowing. why I will never know... put the rug in the front bathtub...
CArol sure hope you return to your home on wheels soon... I think it is time this long long trial is over...
Carol and Bill glad you made it to warmer weather... Oh my Liz is that like spilling a glass of milk? you will find oatmeal all over for a long time! Irmi glad you are pulling out and heading farther south...
I have been trying to sort the mail junk that I seem to not want to depart with... that has been a life long struggle what to throw away!
Drive careful Beth and everyone else... the rest can keep warm with blankets and layers of cloths...
Kathleen or Kathy

Use today wisely it's all you have; yesterday is a memory; tomorrow a dream... KLW[/b][/color]

Morning Gals!

So much going on with us today! Record "low high temps" up here with us Illinoisans and it seems even down south with you all who are in what should be warmer states! Let me tell ya, I'm sure NOT looking forward to work today!

Laundry day here as it just keeps piling up and I put some ducks in my crockpot for supper. Dogs are all sleeping but the ponies are out and eating their hay. I had to fix a heated bucket that Tank (my Paint gelding) broke last year; he "sits" on them and they crack or the handles break. I think he enjoys rubbing his big butt on them, don't ask me why, he's a silly horse to start with. Anyway, their regular buckets froze 2 nights running and I don't like them to not have access to water during the night. Outside in the pasture they have a heated 16 gallon bucket and they will almost drain it daily. Horses without water will get sick pretty fast and it sometimes doesn't end well.

Still seems to be something going on with my Buddy; he's acting oddly. So I called my DH at the shop to ask if Buddy ate ok this morning. He said yes, but Buddy wants to go in the crate and wouldn't come out so he could put Shooter (the puppy) in there when he left for work this morning. There's nothing I can really put my finger on except he's just not right. If it continues, I forsee a vet visit in the next day or two.

Vickie, I know I'd take temps in the 30's today! And I enjoy my MIL's company too, she's a neat lady.
Sue, hope you got in enough food in case you get snowed in, sounds like you have plenty to keep you occupied.
Anita, do you get to ride in those big snow vehicles to go see the bears?
Cheryl, sure hope you get to make it this weekend. How about a sick day? LOL
BJ, how interesting you connected with someone who has Toby's littermate and could compare notes.
Liz, would love to have seen Thistle's face when you turned around to all that oatmeal!
Carol, glad you at least are in a nice warm spot. How is the Driver's allergies?
CArol, how neat that you are going to be able to renew your D.L. and regain your independence!
Donna, you need to take care of yourself too; I read your post and have made a suggestion, hope it is helpful.
Irmi, glad to know you are secure where you are.
Kathleen, that is a shame about your lovely rug, do you think it will be ok and dry?

Everyone have a great day, if you're cold I hope you get warm, if you're hurting I hope you feel better and if you're on the road somewhere please be safe!
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning All, Yes, it was cold here this morning...54*...I put on the long sleeved jacket at 5:15 AM to walk Casey. I've been doing my water jogging about 11:30 when the sun is shinning on the pool.
Interesting about the water and horses. As I am afraid of horses, and have never had them in my life, I find them fascinating and beautiful.
Sue, did you decide to get that puppy? I must have missed something. Easy to do as I have been busy.

good morning,
I had oatmeal for breakfast too, but I was out of milk and added egg nog instead cause I had that :D it was so good!
Was really cold this morning, 47, and to me....feels like 27, yep, I was frozen. But the sun is warming things nicely and
its suppose to get up to 70. I'm wearing two layers, a long sleeve shirt under my short sleeve uniform shirt. Keeps me
a little more comfortable when its cold.
Wondering if Beth is going to get mobile today or wait until the weekend. Guess we'll find out next time she posts.
Time for my nap, ya'll have a great day, be safe and stay warm.
