Feels like -15 here and that's the truth. Today's my last work day. Looks like the weather has determined I'll leave Tuesday.

All of you feeling the cold, stay warm. Everyone have a great day!

Morning, Beth!

Been up since 4:30 and just got done making a big veggie skillet for us to enjoy. We did ALL of our running around yesterday so we could have a "home day"! No errands or commitments, just relaxing and a couple of small chores. Ahhhhh

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

I'm up, but just barely. Got to drive to Fort Pickens today at Gulf Shores Natl Seashore so no late start.

We are very worried my nine-year old grandson has diabetes. He has all the symptoms including a "dirty neck" so they will take him in to be checked. After school boys and girls club worker pointed it out and rest of us looked up symptoms. He has always been tall and skinny but is eating incredible amounts of food lately. Hope it is not true but he sure fits profile.

Put up some holiday lights I got from Home Depot. They are battery powered and use low watt LED bulbs!!! Really easy and look nice.

Good Morning To All . Here in far south Arizona we have the furnace running - it is about 40 outside. But we know it will warm up nicely this afternoon so not complaining about it.
This will be my last post from the U.S of A. as tomorrow morning we will head across the border into Mexico. Unless something weird comes up between now and then. We'll leave just after it gets light as we will have a long day, for us anyway. Instead of stopping in Hermosillo at the little RV park there - which no longer is in business, we'll go another 100 miles to San Carlos. A day of close to 300 miles. With border paper work, toll booths, road construction and many many, topes [really wicked speed bumps].
Hopefully it is warmer there. The RV park has wifi so I should be able to make a post. It will be a day or two before we find a place to buy our Mexican internet stick.
Today I have to call Verizon and see if I can shut down all of our data on our cell phones, mifi and tablet. Don't want to have to pay for it when not using it. We'll see.
At our home it is 18 degrees - don't miss that. I'll be making a blog post later today about our preperations for crossing.
Stay warm and safe and travel carefully.

Just a quick Good Morning,

Woke up to wind! Hoping it dies down as we are taking LeRoy's truck and camper to the airport this afternoon.

In case I can't get on in Canada, wishing you all a great week! Safe travels to those on the road - or about to be!

good morning
have been up for quite awhile as I got sleep dialed by a friend and woke me up. She sleeps with her phone so instead of
getting butt dialed its sleep dialed. Its cool and breezy this morning but will warm up as the day wears on. I do have my
heater going but not complaining as this cold is tolerable and not bitter. Besides, I know how cold the rest of you are.
Don't really have any plans today for chores but I'm sure I'll find something to do, I always do. But of course there are some things that need doing but I don't feel like doing them. Walls and ceiling could use a good scrubbing but my shoulder is so
messed up from driving I don't think I could work through the pain. Know I'll have to bite the bullet and have it looked at
sometime soon.
Not going to ramble on this morning, ya'll have a good day and be safe.

Found a couple... they have boat ramps there also so we will see... drove over to Wickham Park Campground... look like MM made it in yesterday.... so we stopped and chatted with her and Harley dog... dad made a stinky mess in the frigerator I will clean up that mess
and put some ribs in the crock pot for later... football game this afternoon... so that's it for me have a fun filled day and be safe...donna

Hey Donna, a few years ago I was driving up US 1 near Sebastian Inlet and saw a tiny little waterfront RV area. It looked like it only had eight spaces or so and few facilities, I was trying to get to a different destination so I didn't loop back and check it out further... but it was cool looking and right on the water. Have you ever run across that little place in your wanderings?

It’s a balmy 12* now and the feel like temp is -7*. The scant snowfall that was predicted for our area turned into about 6 inches. We’re supposed to get high winds today with near blizzard conditions. Going to be a good day to make my Dream Potatoes and Hawaiian buns for Thanksgiving and get them in the freezer. Also am going to make an attempt to crotchet another skein of yard on the afghan that I’m making Sean for Christmas. Only 18” and the edging to finish. I bought the Carol Burnett DVD set so I know that I have that to occupy me if everything on TV doesn’t interest me.

Have a good day. Safe travels and good health to all.

Sunday clouds in Normal... took a generic ambian last night and slept very well... was taking my shower and getting ready to go to a class at church when I thought I heard my phone jingling ... what is nicer than chatting here, getting a pm, talking on the phone? I was the recipient of a wonderful surprise came in a car!!! How nice Kathy came to visit on her way to a meeting in Bloomington... she bought goodies and we had coffee and chatted until she had to leave...
Shadow would not leave her alone... he is that way with people he likes... These kinds of surprises are the best... and to boot she is coming next weekend also!

Beth if you get a chance maybe you could get a small compressor and you could blow out your lines instead of putting in the pink stuff if you are in cold weather again... and I know you will be... that could be a small back up keeping your pipes safe... I found out by trial that the toilet is the one that freezes first and that does not unthaw properly so makes for an expensive fix in the form of new toilet...

It is 32 here this afternoon... cannot believe the cold most are experiencing... but we are all tough and will make it through...

Donna you are a blessing to your dad... I know it is hard work but very much worth it... I do hope you get away for a couple of short times this winter... Ava if you run out of things you can fly over here to my place and I have lots and lots of projects for you!! Anita do enjoy your time in Canada with the bears... hope they come out so you can see some... Carol looks like you are headed in the right direction... did not know if you would go to Mexico or not... Bills health must be holding up ok... sounds like you have a good idea Mary rest and a little more veggies and more rest... if we do not meet next weekend we can schedule a lunch somewhere in-between Champaign and Normal...

What a great group... take care and stay warm...
Kathleen or Kathy

Dream Potatoes? Recipe? I dream about potatoes every once in a while when I'm trying to stick to my low carb diet. Trying being the key word. Please and thank you!

I remember your dreaming of potatoes Sharon at the KS GTG. When Sharon wants a potato somebody better get her one. That must be now so best get her that recipe!

Just posted in the recipe forum. I use these for holidays all the time...love the make ahead aspect. Occasionally I make them and freeze them in containers large enough for DH and I for quick meals.
