Monday, and Feels Like Fall...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, and Feels Like Fall...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Mon Oct 20, 2014 4:15 am

Good morning, all...

Yep, it finally feels like fall here in GA....cooler, more pleasant temps and clearer days...makes sleeping alot nicer and I have more energy to do things...guess I was getting tired of heat and humidity..... ;)

Speaking of flu shots, we're off to get that done sometime this week...better to be safe than sorry.... ;)

Spinner had his annual check up last week...he's doing just fine....so we're all set for visits to doggy day care again...

Nothing much more to report at this time...and the mind is still in a "sleeping fog", so will stop for now..

Coffee is ready and English muffins with cream cheese ready for those who are hungry...

Have a great day, all...

Good Morning Everyone,

Cool and foggy here today. Had a busy weekend with 60 middle school kids here at camp this weekend and the celebration of new ministry for our camp director. Whee glad it's all over. A lot of fun but tiring :D

So looking forward to the gtg at Silver Springs this weekend. It'll be nice to relax and meet everyone.

When I joined this group my husband joked and said he wanted to be known as the sultan. Told him sorry that spot has already been taken. All the girls he works with call him their boyfriend. I told him after everyone meets him they'll be calling him Crazy Dave.

If you're traveing I hope you make it to your destination safely. If you're dealing with illness or problems I'm praying all works out for the best.

G'morning Lori, Vicki, & all to follow :)

Lori, glad you're feeling better with the cooler weather. We got down to our 30deg, but the sun is shining brightly here...Enjoying your muffins w/cream cheese! Vicki, you'll love the gtg!

O'Sharon, so glad to hear about the pup! Donna, glad to see you check in! Yes, let me know when you're in this area or heading this way, & we can discuss routes. Karen S, glad to see you've made it to one of our gtgs--I think this is your first with us?? :? Yes, Liz, with so many of us in FL for winters, seems like there's a gtg everyday :P

Dentist this a.m.,then flu shot. Was extremely ill with flu a couple years ago, so now I'm a believer! Not to mention I also had pneumonia & strep throat the same winter. Would not want to have any of those illnesses while on the road  Martha, glad DH is consenting!

Well, if anyone's around for lunch, I've made potato soup :) Y'all have a great day & safe travels always 8-)

Good Morning to Everyone. We are in Tucumcari, NewMexico. We usually stop here going west and going home. A nice little RV Park - Kiva Rv right on the main street. Good sized pull-throughs, 50amps and good satellite view. People are really nice and making lots of improvements to the park every year. $20 a night or $84 a week.
They have some neat old trailers and 1960s scenes out front. Also a good restuarant in town Del's. And of course all the murals. This is one of the Route 66 tows that is trying to stay alive since the freeway bypassed it.
There is rain in front of us so don't know if we'll go on today or wait it out. Bill seems to be feeling much better the further west we go. But now the altitude will start bothering him.
Everyone on the road stay safe, dry and warm.

Lori, I hope you didn't think South Louisiana had a lot of heat and humidity. It's getting better. It's 60 now and will get up to the 80's.

Someone called on my cell phone at 6:00. I couldn't find it in time to answer it and it wasn't a number I know. Probably a political call. Wish I knew who it was so I could not vote for them. We get a call every day from the NRA. All the unwanted calls wore out my answering machine but not to worry we have a new one.

I made it by the new Whole Food Store the other day. Not impressed. I bought some Cranberry Scones which are worse than the last ones I tried to make.

Don't know what I will do today. Probably the usual nothing.

Hello ladies! We have sunshine glistening on all of the damp grass and trees... oh so good to see that light in the sky!
The manager of the park where I live will winterize my MH... that is good news!! He has done it for years and only charges $25 then I give him a tip... there are some perks to living here!! has anyone ever used the pink solution when it is no longer pink? is it good?
I just read Velda's post such a hard time she is having... I hope something positive comes her way soon...
The great Silver Springs GTG is now happening... I loved those gtg... smile whenever I think of them!
Time to check mail and finish coffee...
Have a great day and may the sun shine where you are!

Good Morning from Cottonwood, AZ!

Kathleen, I responded on the ORS forum, but I just did a search on RV.net about reusing antifreeze - not recommended.

Martha, I 'Google' phone numbers I don't know to get information. Numbers can be blocked on cell phones. Also, my arm was more tender after flu shot this year - thought perhaps due to the 4th strain being covered?

Carolb, potato soup sounds good!

Liz, wish I was with you at Silver Springs! It was cold when I was there in January so didn't see all there was to see.

I am at favorite Thousand Trails park and have never seen it this busy! I finally found a spot, but the large 5er next to me has its tail encroaching so will take a little maneuvering to pull out. Not quite 7:30 a.m. and I hear a lot of noise next door. Looked out and they are breaking camp - their pass says they are here until October 30. Perhaps they found a better spot up on the hill.

Carryout satellite isn't working well so going to have to do some further testing before I call the company. Always something, but I think today will be about relaxing!

Everyone have a good day and safe travels to those on the road.

Good morning, all! I am back to typing normally and stitches finally come out tomorrow morning. Yea!!! Been cheating and not wearing splint doctor prescribed, but it hurts to wear it, and I looked it up on the internet, and it turns out even the NIH studies say no significant difference, so I have ditched it! (Association of orthopedic surgeons also does not recommend splint, so this is one time I can legitimately ignore doctor. Isn't it great to be able to research this so easily??) Feels MUCH better without it and I am back to doing almost everything except lifting heavy stuff. My son helped me pack up my bike and a heavy box for travel yesterday, because I am off south and east on Thursday, as I head to Florida for the winter. Everything in RV is in travel mode and ready to go now.

It looks like a lot of you are also headed off to places and some of you have already arrived at your wintering spots. I like the chilly nights also, but been getting them here in Napa and also in Washington and Oregon. Makes sleeping so much better.

Heading off to do some tourist things like shopping in Napa. Got some gifts to buy and send out before I leave and first time I really feel like doing much driving. Also picking grandkids up from school and got a video conferencing session with my students at 4:00 so busy day. Got a rental car for two more days.

I didn't read that Kath wanted to reuse the antifreeze, just that it's not pink anymore. Kath, where was it stored? I don't know that antifreeze goes bad, but if it was stored inside, not in the light, I can't imagine why it would lose color.

RV antifreeze has an alcohol base. If it was closed tightly I doubt the alcohol would dissipate. Should be okay. Sunlight could fade any coloring in it.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
