Good Morning to All - from rainy rainy Kansas. Yes we're still here and seems like a good choice. We have rain but the
bad weather is south and east of us. It started to rain last night and looks like it will continue for a while. Oh well we're not in a hurry to get anywhere. And the Internet here in this campground is excellent. We will be heading west from here. Kind of want to go to Halsted KS - spent some time there in the past and it is a friendly quaint little town and nice RV park. If Bill is feeling good enough we'll get into Wichita and maybe to the space museum in Hutchinson. And take secondary roads to Tucumcari. We'll see.
We're not sure where we'll end up spending the winter yet.
Sounds like everyone is keeping busy. Enjoy your travels.

Took US-54 to Tucumcari a couple of times. Use to be a mom and pop truck stop around Liberal (near the meat packer) that had an awesome 1" thick pork chop but it's probably long gone. There's the International Pancake Race in Liberal http://www.pancakeday.net/

Safe journey.

G'morning Carol, Melissa & all to follow:)

Carol, I heard about the nasty storms, so it's good to stay put. Lyn, Amarillo has my absolutely favorite rest area! I could camp there for a week! Ava, thanks for posting (pets) about the bark collar--hope they have it at my local WM...Anita, sounds like L is the one who's not "hot to trot"--or should I say "to hike" ;)

Family showed up a few at a time yesterday, so didn't mow. Five of them are leaving this a.m. Tomorrow is to be almost 70deg, so will keep lawn furn out for one more day. Sis/BIL will stop by to enjoy sitting in the yard... so today I mow...

Is it "recapping"? or is it just part of two-way conversation?? ;) Thought that's what this was about, but then maybe not? I'd feel awfully silly just writing about me me me

Y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Good morning. Looks like it's going to be a soggy week here in PA. Got son's pressure washer to do the deck but looks like I'll have to hold off on that for a few more days. Ah well, lots to do inside! The driveway is getting covered with leaves from all the neighbor's trees but that will wait too.

Young son's 9 month old golden got away from them Friday night and got hit by a car. They got him to the emergency vet clinic and now are waiting to see about surgery on his leg. At this point I think the pup is doing better then the humans.

I had an appointment yesterday to get tires on my car but when I got there they didn't have the tires in stock as they had said they had when I made the appointment. I was not happy but guess stuff happens. So will try again Tuesday. This time I will call to make sure they have them before I drive to the shop. Lesson learned!

Sounds like there's lots of movement toward the warmer climates. And I'm just getting ready to get Lola ready for winter. Still don't know about getting her in son's building or if I'll need to get a cover and leave her in the driveway here at home. But the way this weather is going I need to make a decision soon!

Been amiss in welcoming new members! Hope everyone enjoys this forum as much as I have! And for all those with health issues I hope for speedy recoveries for you each. Safe travels to those of you on the road and enjoy your Monday!

Good Morning, Another cloudy day here, woke to the sound of a soft gentle rain during the night and went right back to sleep. It has stopped this morning but everything is still too wet to let Mitzi go outside. They said not to let her get the stitches wet. I have declared her well in all other areas. Took down the barricade in front of the couch and gave her full run of the house. The way she leaps up and runs couldn't be any worse than jumping on the couch.
Carol you asked "is it "recapping"? or is it just part of two-way conversation?? ;) Thought that's what this was about, but then maybe not? " I think it is optional, sometimes I reply to one persons comment and other times I just write about me. Remember we have no rules other than to be nice. :)
I guess if I intend to make the 11:00 yoga class I should get a few things done, like having another breakfast!

Good morning everybody!

Wow, sounds like everyone had a busy Sunday, some getting up extra early to boot! Me, I did horses and dogs (my own and others') and then DH and I met a customer at the shop for her to drop off her '66 Impala for touch up. Her sister was with her and they were meeting another friend to go to a last of the year car show nearby so we all went out for breakfast at Cracker Barrell and had a nice time. Then DH wanted to go to Sam's Club (right down the street from the shop) so we killed some time before it opened back at the shop moving cars around and emptying another customer's car so they could work on the back of it.

Came home and both of us remarked that we didn't feel like doing anything except lounging, but I got involved in cleaning out a room and he started clearing out the garage to put Big Blue away. Funny, how that happens!

Buddy has been very good about his stitches so no more conehead for him. Ava, I think I may just have to get one of those collars for Shooter; he's always barking at something especially me. Sometimes I wonder if he just doesn't see that well and barks at anything that moves, but when the guys were here paving the driveway (omgoodness!) he just sat and watched them and all the equipment and never barked til I came home. So maybe it's just me. :?

OSharon, hope your son's pup is ok and that they do indeed get your tires for you; what a pita to have to go back again!

Carolb, how nice to have family to visit-are any of them staying with you? Or just popping in and out?

Carol, sounds like you and the "driver" are hunkered down in a good place; safe journey towards your eventual destination.

To all the others who are dealing with illnesses/surgeries I wish you all the best and hope things are turning around for you all. To those of you travelling, stay safe and pleasant journey.

Kathy

I see BJ got in before I posted; good to see Mitzi is feeling better. Somedays you just can't keep them down!

Good morning ladies :D
The birthday party yesterday was fun, daughter put alot of work into the decorations and gift bags for the other kids.
Jacks birthday is actually Friday but they are going on a trip this week, San Diego, hope they have good weather.
Plans for today include digging the holes to plant my two shrubs. Its only taken me two days so far to dig two holes.
So the ground is hard and I have to put water in it to let it soak in, then I can dig a little more. My left arm still hurts,
a strain in the bicep from driving and hoping I can give it a rest this week and let it heal. But of course digging doesn't
help.
Cool mornings now, and for sure I'll get out in the shed to pull the electric heater down and bring it in. Will also assess
the propane situation and see if I need to do any refills. But first I have to take the broom and clean off spider webs :o
Absolutely hate spider webs!!
@Carolb, its all of it :D
Thats about it from my world, for now. :P Ya'll have a great day, be safe and you will soon get to where your going :P

Its still morning and I am ticked!!!. I had a lovely post ready to post and it went poof !!!!! I was such a happy camper this morning and then its ruined, this computer has been trying past several weeks to do its own thing. Actually I think its me and not seeing any better then I do right now :? and the darn thing is taking advantage of me  :D

I think these morning threads are not only to tell of our state of mind, which mine isn't the best right now, things that are happening in our life, sometimes we need help of some sort, or to wish others good health, safe travels, or to hope things will be better for them. When one person has stated all so nicely, its nice to be able to say, whats been said or recapped already. Carolb, lets face it you have a way of saying all of this with few words, and with great humor, which I have really appreciated many a morning. Usually end up with a smile and a lighthearted feeling, after reading one of your post and I imagine many others feel the same way. As someone said, this thread is fair game to our bad days, venting, whatever we need as long as we never hurt another on here. So I say don't worry about what you write, a person setting having their coffee alone, these morning threads are company and sometimes we find we aren't the only ones with problems and trying to deal with them the best we can. Nice to hear what one plans for their day or whatever is on their mind. The more that participate each morning, the more I enjoy my coffee :D

This will probably be my last post for a few days, I would like you all to know I really appreciated you each and everyone throughout this past year. Some days, you were my courage to get through yet another day. The humor, the activity, the everyday doings of each of you, made some of the loneliness and the feeling of defeat go away.
So thank you all, for the encouragement and the prayers and the good wishes. They are so appreciated. I'm antsy about tomorrow, but I am so glad this long year is almost over. Thank You !!!!

CArol :)

Greetings from Las Vegas, New Mexico where the temp is 42*!!! the wind was bad on Hwy 40. So came north to a state park, which was closed. Two other rigs joined me in the parking lot last night.
Carol I will have to talk to you about Amirillo. I do not like it.
Hope those with health challenges are having positive experiences this morning and throughout the day!
I love reading what others are doing....makes my life more interesting. So, please keep it going.

Hi everyone!

Hey Carolb, I love your recaps! LOL! At least we know you read all the MC posts! There is a message board I go to and am a moderator on where the owner of the board asked me how my brother was a week after he died. Both that board and here, I do read all Morning Coffee posts daily. I don't always mention everyone that has posted that day, but like others have said, your posts and everyone else's, make my day so much easier.

CArol, I wish the best for you tomorrow. I know lots of people that have had that done and most, with lots of success. I can't wait to hear the results once you can type and see again! When I use Steve's laptop, which is an HP, I have lost posts, too, probably from hitting a wrong key. But I don't have any problems with my Dell.

We had planned on leaving today for a getaway but have postponed it because of rainy weather. That's one of the great things about not having to keep to a schedule anymore. We act like old people not wanting to drive in the rain!

I gave my two weeks notice in church yesterday that my last day playing in church was Oct. 26. They still have an organist that plays the first and third Sunday's of the month, so they won't be without music and while I'm gone, they'll have digital music. It's better than nothing.

To everyone on the road, please be safe and to everyone having health or personal issues, I wish you the best.

Good morning from still warm Roseville Ca. Going to have another mid 80's day but by mid week it will drop into 60's or so they tell us. And they are mentioning that "R" word we have not heard serious mention of in a while. Would be nice if it put an end to fires for the year. We could sure use it but I don't want to scare those clouds away so will leave it at the initial! :D
All good here. Husband doing what he can to stretch the tight jaw and trying to chew a little. Few weeks until he begins the hormone treatments that precede the radiation. Hoping to get a few projects done.
I have Curves and organizing to be done.
Sending good wishes to all for sunny skies and good health or at least improvement where needed. Have a good rest of your day.
Velda

Carolb, I enjoy your posts so keep on doing what ever you do. :D Most of the time there isn't much going on in my life to talk about. I do finally have a trip planned in 3 weeks. Can't wait to go somewhere.

It is really windy here today. The hummingbirds are having a wild ride on the feeder. I hope it's not swinging enough to pour out the food. Just about all of Louisiana is under some kind of watch or warning. I talked to my sister earlier and she was planning on going to DeRidder. They just reported trees down in DeRidder. Also trees down on a road near where we have some land North of DeRidder. I was thinking about going to town but think it can wait until tomorrow.

CArol, I will be thinking about you tomorrow. I don't know anyone that has had problems with cataract surgery but I have been a chicken about having it done. I haven't lost a post in a long time but lately I get double posts a lot.
