G'morning all :)

Well Donna, we got your thunder storms last night & more today! Hope those of you who were sweltering are getting a cool down. Feeling better Dawn?

April had 18 (no typo, eighteen!) teeth removed. Poor thing, but she's doing well--her issue has been lack of enamel formation on her back teeth (from birth). She's 11 yrs old, & we've been dealing with major yearly cleaning for the past 6 yrs. Hope those days are over. :)

CArol, you're more than welcome to come up here & help me with projects  Today is a "day of rest" though, since I'll be having my c'oscopy. It's my first screening, no health issues, & hope to return from the procedure with a good report--no history in our family. Don't know what was in the "solution," but I slept like a baby for the first time in ages! :D & I feel soooo clean  & amazingly, not hungry :o

Jane, nice essay on "the simple life." Wear your jammies, & to heck with the neighbors  But never feel hopeless about "waiting for the world to change"--there's always a way to make your 'little corner of the world a better place" no matter where you are :P That's my little bit of advice this morning, which BTW is the 21st!

Y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Mornin' Carol, Donna & all that follow

Rain and thunder started at my house at midnight, stopped a bit and then hit again on the drive into work. My grass needed the rain. Any we've had has been jumping north or south of my house.

Beth - hope your arm feels better so you can continue on to the next job, but maybe it's nature's way of saying 'take a vacation' ;)

BJ - Will keep heading south with you after the IL gtg in mind. My plans aren't even quite jello yet because I haven't mixed the ingredients (i.e. locked down route, hotels, etc)

Kathy (GingerK) - ewwww to the doggie present the other morning. Heck of a way to start the day.

MelissaD - How far are you and Phoenix from Michigan City? I'm thinking about heading to the RV show on the lake. It's a small show (an hour or two tops), but a chance to get out of the house and see the lake. Maybe the GD wants to build a sand castle?

For all that are having your own or family health problems, I'm still praying and hoping for you all. Sorry if I didn't respond individually.

Better get started working. Have a good day everyone and if you're on the rode be safe.

Good morning Carolb, grammymaggie, IrishIroamed and all to follow,

Haven't been on for a few days. My FIL, a truly sweet guy, passed away last night. He's been in hospice care and now he's gone home to The Lord. He'll be missed.

Carolb a colonoscopy is easy peasy just a little uncomfortable getting ready but sooo important. Good for you for taking care of it.

IrishIroamed i think meeting Melissa and Pheonix would be fun. I hoping to meet Carolinagal this weekend for a mini gtg. Pictures and stories to follow :D

Beth I'm sorry to hear about your arm. You never know how amazing your body is made until something doesn't work correctly :o I'm going in for some hand surgery this morning and hope everything goes well.

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. It's supposed to be another really hot and humid day again. Oh well, guess it's the pay for our great winters.

Take care and travel safely.

Oma/Vicki

Good Morning
So far it has been one of those weeks where not much has gone according to plan. Both the vet and the mobile RV service people had to change appointment dates and that resulted in a domino effect on other plans - some of which are now pushed into next week.
One thing that did get done and is cause for celebration: my niece had her last chemo treatment. There was more than instance when we were not sure this day would happen. We are quietly celebrating this mile stone. She will start radiation in about a month.
Will be meeting the RV service tech later this morning. Looking forward to getting the work done but not to being out in this heat (105 heat index forecast for today). I actually do not have to be there but feel I need to be. I want to see what they do especially as this will be my first experience with them.
Hope everyone has a good day and someplace cool to stay.

Good Morning, We are having the heat wave here Sarah with heat indexes about the same. If I were you I would stay inside!! I did get out early, was really pretty nice with a good breeze. Carolb sure hope you test goes well, you certainly seemed to have breezed through the prep part better than most. Oma sorry to hear about your FIL. Donna I hope the rain holds off and your yard sale is a huge success. There is one here Saturday at the Arena blacktop, I bet a lot of people cancel, the heat index by then is supposed to be 105 ! ACK Cheryl so glad you will head back this way after the GTG! I'm already looking at the map! I may have to bring Mitzi along, she is turning into a real Mama's girl. Also discovering she hates to be left! We went out to dinner last night and were gone about and hour and a half. She was panting so and her playpen area was such a mess, I think she had thrown a fit most of the time we were away. We had been leaving her for shorter periods of time but she sure was not happy with us last night. Not sure how to handle it, maybe leaving her for shorter periods again.

Thunderstorms earlier this morning here, too. Now just hot and humid!

Had planned to go to the State Fair today but just don't feel like dealing with the heat, so will probably go sometime next week instead, when it is supposed to be much cooler.

Lots to do around here anyways, cleaning, laundry, naps... :D

Nothing else new around here...

Have a great day! :D :D

Still morning so popped in for a second MC

Sooo glad to hear your nieces chemo is over Sarah - am praying for continued success for her.

BJ - I'll email you my reaaalllly tentative route I was thinking of taking south - but it's at home, so will send tonight. Maybe Mitzi will have a little less separation anxiety once you can trust all the dogs alone & together.

Oma/Vicki - Sorry to hear about your FIL sending prayer for him & ((hugs)) to you & your family.

I am late as usual, but it is morning somewhere!

I am back to making To-Do Lists. The cookbook and curriculum consume most of my time. However, my disheveled house and yard are crying for attention. How to prioritize?

I should pull the weeds, but later today during a writing break, I am going to set up all the bird feeders and fill them to the top. Lots of birds should be coming by during the fall migration.

After that, I should pull the weeds, but I have a quick-fix plan. I will head out near dusk with scissors and cut off the seed heads. That is the troublesome part and if I don’t apply an emergency measure, by the time I get to a complete weeding, those seeds will be dispersed.

I am excited beyond belief about the Heritage Cookbook, a collection of recipes by local German settlers and their descendants .I had a steep learning curve using the Adobe software InDesign on my trusty little pink laptop. I have used InDesign before, but not for a project of this magnitude.

Last night at bedtime, I kept to my plan to sit outside more. I sat on the front porch (cement stoop) and watched the nigh sky for a while. Thin clouds floated by and a few cats cried out. A feral cat lives in my garage; he and Tango have verbal fights on occasion. Otherwise, the night was still.
:) :)

I like the rhythm of being at home and working, but still on sabbatical.
