Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

G'morning all! :)

I do miss Lori! Guess I'm back to being the east coast MC opener  But I don't serve breakfast, since I don't even push a button to cook anything   Thinking of you, Irmi, & your family on this day to remember your dad....Barbie, hope you get into better spirits, too. Your plate has been pretty full, so take time to rest.

Ok ladies, you've all convinced me to get a hair cut...my naturally wavy/curly hair does the same at Martha's & Kathleen's. Was thinking I'd let it grow a bit for summer, but with humidity, well I'm starting to look like a bushman too!... Ava, would love to see your short hair...

Actually took the entire day off yesterday, so mowing is on the agenda today! Hope y'all have a great one & be safe always! 8-)

Good morning, Donna, Carolb & all who follow,
Had a busy weekend - getting ready for a busy week.
I love all the travel blogs - keep them coming.
Donna, I just caught up with yours - thanks for reminding us when you've updated it. I do love following you & Maggie around :D
Carol, glad you finally took a day off - although I'm sure you still found ways to keep yourself busy. I ended up chopping my hair a bit myself yesterday - I'll get it 'fixed' in a few weeks - but it's good enough for now.
Anita, yes, I HATE steep downhill routes - 6% is my limit. After you posted about having an engine braking system, I had to google that. Guess my van isn't a candidate for that but it might be for exhaust brakes :? - If I start doing heavy-duty mountain driving I'll have to investigate that more.
Irmi, continued thoughts & prayers for you & your family.
Barbie, please do give yourself a little leeway - so much to do & dealing with your dad on top of that must be terribly stressful. Take a little time to relax - everything eventually gets done.
Ava, you are like the energizer bunny - can't wait to see posts of the deck.
Linda, can't imagine how tough it is for you to take that abuse from your half-bro. Hope you can get on the road soon & put some distance between you & him.
Well, I'd better get to work.
Stay safe.

Good Morning Ladies,

Short post from me too this morning. Things to do and time is short today. have dentist appt. and must leave a bit after lunch, so want to clean the house a bit since I can't do much of anything else. Too humid outside anyway. Rain is heading this way. We need some bad here, so it can rain all day for all I care.

Gee, all the haircuts being done out there. On my agenda for this week too. Starting to feel like a shaggy dog and it does manage better when it's shorter than it is now. Sassy is heading for her bath and trim on Thursday, so we will both be ready to go on our trip in two weeks.

Made another reservation for my trip, this time to Indian Lake State Park near Manistique. Want to take the trip to Lake Gogebic slow and easy and just enjoy the drive. So going to make it a two day affair. Be easy on Sassy too. Am looking forward to this trip. Hopefully it will be 8 days of lakes, waterfalls and who knows what else I find to explore.

Worked on my trailer for a bit yesterday, but it was pretty warm out (85), so just did the inside of the pass through storage compartment. Put some green grass carpeting down on the floor part to help keep things from sliding around on the road and also a small piece of short 2 inch wide board with a couple of broom clips on the wall to hold my broom up off the floor and make it easier to get too. Utilizing wasted wall space in that compartment. Will start putting stuff in an organizing it this week as well as inside the trailer.

Gotta run here. Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning !!! Looks like rain here, wonderful breeze coming in the windows, feels great to me Maggie and I, had a wee bit longer walk this morning, she almost seemed like she would have liked to go longer but my back said it thought it had had enough, if breeze continues will try another in a short time. I keep forgetting to get my WII plugged in and see what I might still be able to do on it. :o  It's sure to really fuss at me  can't even remember when I last used it, that thing remembers though

Thinking of Irmi and family today, hard day for them all.

Donna, I like when you comment too, that you have added to your blog, I always go right then and look :D I'm still behind on Liz's, pictures don't always all come in for me, so keep going back. Finally got all of the pictures to come in on the mule ride, this morning, they were great. My signal here is sometimes not the best, good thing I am only one back here using it, probably would never work :D When I first ask about it, wasn't working, and the looks that passed among some here, didn't look to promising IF they did finally get someone out to look at it so each time I get on, figure I am very lucky. Sometimes it tells me on FB that it was unable to post my msg, try again, so far the try again, if I wait long enough, it works

Water heater has been on long enough, time to do the dishes up and take that walk. Have a good day, do something you enjoy in it.
Everyone stay safe and enjoy wherever you are,
CArol :)

Good morning gals!

Sooo much going on here-I had to go back to Friday to catch up.

First camping trip of the year went ok. Since I didn't have a reservation, I got to do the "ride around and find something" dance. Then when I finally did find a suitable site it was go all the way back to the other campground where the host is to register. What a pita! Friday night I was solo since my bff could only come out on Sat. morning. Bit nervy backing into the site without her there to spot me (ask me about the first time and the tree.....) but I managed just fine. Cheryl got there Sat. afternoon and we all had a really nice visit.

All the ladies getting haircuts! Must be this warmer weather making us want something that feels cooler!

Sue, you will be coming home before I am free to get up your way so I guess I won't be able to join you on your trip.

Irmi, how nice that they held a service for your dad. I hope you and your family find peace and love in sharing his memories.

Cheryl, hope you had a nice visit with Sandi in Bishop Hill.

I need to catch up with everyone's blogs to see what's up but it will have to wait til later. This morning I need to clean up the tc and the house; apparently DH doesn't see the need to pick up or do dishes when I'm not here.

Everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good morning ladies :D
I'm in from my morning outside chores, its still nice out but my screwgun/drill ran out of juice so it needs a charge. The
a/c will kick on any time now, its already 82 and its predicted to be very hot today, supposed to get up to 108. I hate
these summer temps but for this year I just have to deal with it.
Love catching up on blogs but it will have to wait until tomorrow when my data starts anew, for today I'm very limited.
Barbie, you've been so busy too with all your moving and then of course your dad, just take a bit at a time and rest. Don't
try to unpack everything at once, little bit at a time will get it done and not be so stressful.
Linda (Bikerchik) you too, will all that stress your getting from your family, take a break, it will do you some good.
Sheila, hope you get to feeling better real soon and kick that bronchitis. Its no fun being sick.
Anita, am enjoying your check in's too.
Maggie and I went for a walk this morning, outside the gate :D she was so busy sniffing all the new smells but kept looking
back at the patio wondering (I suppose) how far she was getting away from her security. It was a nice walk.
About all I got for today, ya'll enjoy your day, be safe.

Good morning ladies! I have not been much into the RV stuff lately so I havent posted anything much. But I read everyday and realized it is because I have actually met womehow so many of you and have some really close friends among the group. So I thought I would pop in for a bit. I'm so sorry so hear of your Dad's passing Irmi, you are such a devoted daughter. But he is at peace now as you know. There was a thread about musical instruments, we could have quite a band but an unusal mix. I played clarinet and saxophone. Someone mentioned itchy band uniforms! How about the smell of wet wool???Anyway, ya'll have a great day! Wendy

Doing the rv thing or not, Wendy, always so good to hear from you. No real requirements here, that I know of, once you're a member think you always are and hopefully will participate. So pop in more often, please

Food morning everyone. It's a beautiful morning here but rain later "they" say. So really need ro get the plants I bought last week in the ground! Did yardwork pretty much all week end, one thing leads to another but plants just didn't make it! Son and feiends came up Fri evening and hauled away the hot tub! Got back my patio area, DH used it but I didn't so it wasn't to hard to see it go. Another step into this new life of mine. This evening the guy is supposed to come put the camera in the rv for me but if it rains I have a feeling we'll have to reschedule. Been following some of the blogs too and makes me want to take off on a trip! Donna, looks like you'll be back in PA before you know it. You're on familiar roads to me now! We always went through Winchester on our way south. Before the bypass we always made it around heading south but coming north we always seemed to miss the right road and went right through town! Not a bad thing but still don't know what we did to miss it!! The bypass makes it so much easier! Carolb, seems like you have a new task getting MC started! I'm with you, I don't really have breakfast just my coffee! And that's just pushing a button! Wish I had some of the ambition of some of you gals. My mom always said just you wait, it gets harder the older you get! Guess she was right! I get it done, just takes longer! With that being said, guess I should get moving! Have a great day, everyone.

Good Morning from soggy Southern Illinois. It has been raining almost every day here for about week. Enough!! Too wet for the guy to come and mow and Winnie may get lost in the tall grass if this keeps up. Good to see Wendy post this morning! Thinking of Irmi today and sending a big hug.
I'm trying to decide whether to cut my hair or not too, it's longer than it's been in awhile.
Yesterday was just not my day, some days just go wrong and yesterday was classic. The bank sent a new card a few days ago as mine was about to expire and remembering my friend saying she cut up her new card by mistake and kept the old one, I was very careful to lay the new card aside while I cut up my old one. So much for being careful, I had reached in my wallet and pulled out my Master Card and cut it into pieces and carefully placed my bank cards in my wallet. It wasn't until I checked my bank account online and saw all these debit charges that I realized something was wrong. I looked in my purse and found my old and new bank cards and my Master Card gone.
Well, gee I thought, no problem I have different credit card I haven't used in a long time and it hasn't expired I'll use it until our other credit cards arrive in August. So yesterday evening I ran to the Coop where we know everyone, to pick up a couple of items, handed them the credit card which was promptly declined. Humm, oh well, not to worry I have some extra cash in the car. Dash outside to find opps, I must have spent that and forgot to replace it, will just run down to the bank and get cash. Right before I reached the ATM I thought, wouldn't it be funny if the ATM was out of money. Sure enough an OUT of SERVICE message was flashing across the screen. After I quit laughing I decided to check my wallet and see if I had as little cash as I thought and after finding a couple of dollars in change in the car, I had enough so I headed back to the store. When I went in I told the cashier about the ATM and gave him the money, he looked at me and said, so what did you do steal this ?! Of course I said yes as I collected my bag and headed for the exit, only to find the automatic door would not open. By this time I have an audience and the guy comes to see what is wrong and has to fix something in the door to get me out. While he is opening the door I said to him, maybe you should just call my husband to come and get me!! He said, drive carefully and order dinner out, you probably shouldn't cook tonight ! I called the credit card company and found out they had archived the account as it hadn't been used is so long. Now wouldn't you think they would do that when the cards expired!!
I have an eye appointment this afternoon which I am not looking forward too, I really don't like having my eyes dilated but then I guess no one does.

The sun is finally out here and the rain is done for now anyways. Our little town got inundated with so much rain this weekend (about 10 inches or more) that the sewer system couldn't handle it all, so to keep it from backing up into peoples homes, they released a ton of untreated sewage into our lake! :o So no swimming for awhile! Not sure I would even want to take the kayak out on there right now.

Lake Minnetonka is at an all time record high level now and people have been sandbagging to protect their homes. I am sure my dad's back yard is all flooded but luckily his house is up on a hill.

Haven't heard yet if we will be able to play golf tonight. The weather is good but the course might be still too flooded to play on.

Had a good night's sleep last night and slept in some this morning. Need to get over to the old place and work on the carpeting there. Will forgo cleaning there for now. Have all month to get that done, but really need to get the animal smells out of the carpeting and fix the spots where Lola scratched up the carpets. I told her if she even thinks about scratching the carpet in the new place, she is getting claw caps put on! I have several cardboard scratching boards for her which she usually uses but sometimes she goes for the carpet instead. And so far, Chelsea is being a good girl and using the litter boxes instead of the carpet here too. No accidents so far!

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning,

BJ, I'm laughing about your day because I felt I should have stayed in bed yesterday!!

For weeks I have been looking at the map and deciding whether or not to take a side trip here to Kluane National Park because the pictures of the lake are so pretty. I started out yesterday and thought the GPS was wrong to have me on the Alaska Highway. It finally dawned on me that I was remembering the trip from two years ago wrong! I have been there! Duh. It was one of my favorite stops as we saw Dall Sheep with lambs and parked overnight at the lake. So, I went for a drive but not that far. Came back to Whitehorse to sit out the next two days of rain. Time to do some cleaning and cooking!! With a dump station near by, I can use all the water I want!

Shopped this small WalMart and they don't carry certain things or are out of stock.

I also had to use the override to get the truck to shift into gear and it is recommended to have the truck looked at after doing that. There is a Dodge dealer near here.

There are several long term residents in this parking lot. I saw one had wood stacked under his RV and last night he was chopping it. He has an older class C and has a wood stove of some type in it!

Wendy, always good to see you post!

Sending a big hug to you, Irmi. Prayers and healing thoughts to all of you facing rough times.

Thanks ladies. I do love to go places. But I don't like 1: not being able to get out of the cg once I get someplace 2: the driving; and 3: worrying about where i can stop for gas. I still have the rv for money reasons. Keep thinking I will decide something!
