Good Morning,
Winter keeps hanging on here and from looks of long range forecast, it's not going anywhere too soon either. Great Lakes region is supposed to be cold and snowy for the next week or two
Oh well. Nothing you can do about it, so deal with it as they say.
Soos, so glad to see you started the Coffee thread yesterday. Seems like old times when you always seemed to be the first to start every morning.
Nothing new around here. I'm sure you are getting tired of hearing about my house chores as I am getting tired of messing around with them. Want to get out and enjoy the outdoors. So am enjoying reading the posts on here about travels and adventures of others, new rigs, new hoped to be rigs and so forth. Keeps on dreaming. I just love Beth's new rig.
So, I'm going to head on out and do some more reading of posts and quit this nonsense chatter. Everyone have a wonderful day today.

Good morning.
Such a weird time around here, still trying to deal with the impact of my moms passing, and boom here comes the new car we ordered a month ago, a month early. It's supposed to be a fun time, getting a new car, but all I want to do is sleep so I keep looking at it and wishing it would go away.
Oh well, what are you gonna do, just keep moving forward... maybe I'll like the car at some point.

Good morning Sue, Queen & everyone!
Sue, I never tire of hearing about what's going on in your house or at the 45th, as you sometimes say! You're a better person than I am braving all the cold and snow you get, but you're so used to it. Second nature, as they say.
Queen, it does get easier. I lost my Mom six months ago today.
It's 55 in Ocala and will get into the mid to high 50's. We woke up to a heavy fog this morning and the sun hasn't burned through yet, but it will at some point.
The folks here in the campground are beginning to pack up for their trips home, wherever home is. A couple left yesterday and I see one securing their tow vehicle as I type. We're paid up through the 26th of this month, but I think we'll stay at least another week or longer before starting our trip north. It's still too cold in MD to go home.

Good morning everyone,
California kids made it late last night. They are sooooo beautiful!
Drove the big van to get them since we had 1 1/2 hours between arrivals (11PM & 12:30AM) - found a spot to park away from the terminals & let the first ones to arrive (son & daughter-in-law) have dinner in style. So comfy sitting on the double sofas, visiting with them. (Need to learn how to turn on furnance though
- I'd just run the engine when we started to get a little chilly). Going back for my daughter, I was circling the terminal (since you're not supposed to park & wait) while ex & son went in to get her. Airport police, motioned to me to stop for a minute & told me I could pull in behind a limo & just wait on my next circle - that's Kansas city for you!
Guess he felt sorry for me & of course my vehicle stands out pretty well.
So they're home - can't get over how beautiful they are. (did I say that before???)
Have a breakfast bar set up for them & will fix waffles when they get up.
Oldest daugher & fam get in Friday afternoon - then we'll all be together for the first time in nearly 2 years. I guess I shouldn't have told them to follow their dreams - but they do seem very happy. I just need to travel more to see them - thus the travelin' van.

Have a blast, as I know you all will.
Cool on using the rig like that, and I hope you learn how to turn on the furnace!

Hi --
I'm not big on posting here, just because I don't have much time. But I need to today.
Yesterday, while teaching reading to my 30 sixth graders (around 9:00) my SIL called and told me that my baby brother, Erik was dead. He'd been an alcoholic for more years than I can count, just like our father, who also drank himself to death. He would have been 51 on May 1st. He leaves a 14 year-old daughter without her dad.
I'm mad at him for so many reasons. I understand far too well about alcoholism being a disease, but before it goes too far, people can get help. It's a choice. I know that he wasn't even sane at the end. But it wasn't always that way.
Now I get to drive to Escondido and play parent for my niece at school tonight. Her mom isn't in any shape to do it.
Damn you, Erik.

Laura, I'm so sorry your brother has put his family (including you) through this.
{ Hugs }
ON EDIT: My nephew, age 57, was taken to the hospital a week or so ago.
Blood alcohol level was over .4 - ER doc said he did not know why Bob was still alive.
Alcoholism is a horrible disease.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Alcoholism is so insidious and damaging.

Well, this week just keeps getting better and better. sigh. Last nite I accidently kicked my poor little Chewy. I think her back leg was getting better but I know she was in pain all night. Her check up was today and my vet kind of laughed at me. She sympathized with Chewy about having a clumsy mom. I was gonna go to the cemetery but it's to warm to leave Chewy in the car while I run in and get flowers so I decided to wait and go later. Stopped at the post office to get the mail, walked in, glanced down and there was a shiny new penny. Guess Jack was telling me it's ok. Of course I dissolved in a puddle of tears. Had a long call with my friends wife about him, we cried a lot and I drank to much wine. Now I hear about Laura's brother..so sad. My first husband was an alcoholic...very serious one. And Mitch's nephew. What a waste. I'm just so sad this week. Can't seem to stop crying today. I need to get in Hope and leave town but I can't, to much stuff going on around here.

Hang in there Sharon. Save that penny! I keep every one I find because I know my angel put them there for me. I'm sure Jack was saying not to cry and get out there and enjoy your life. These anniversaries are hard, but I know our loved ones are watching over us.

..You mentioned you lost your Jack 10 years ago today.
A BIG HUG to you.
I'm pretty sure it's okay to cry.
