Tuesday, and Off to get the Taxes done...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, and Off to get the Taxes done...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Tue Mar 04, 2014 7:00 am

Yep, taxes and laundry today... The good news is that both are free for us... ;) The Army offers free tax service to retired and active duty folks here...They've done ours for the last 3 yrs....there's a little "sit and wait" time, but worth it for us....and we are use to the "hurry up & wait" tradition when it comes to the military.... ;) Then it's back here for me to spend a couple hours at the laundry room for my weekly wash....But 1st....I'm going back to bed for a nap in a few minutes...got up at 3:30am, so am in need of one... ;)

Had a great day in Savannah yesterday...we had lunch at Five Guys Burgers and did a little shopping....Found a great pet store with toys that are guarantee to last with chewers like Spinner.... www.thegratefulhound.com so far so good...

Okay, coffee's ready....help yourself...

And Have a Great Day, all...

Mornin Lori & all that follow. Sorry the Sand Man is still playing games with your sleep. Good luck on the taxes. Mine has already come & gone & now Zorrow needs about $700 worth of surgery. Seems I'll never catch up to afford the 'dream'. Well I'll keep dreaming for now.

Have a good day everyone & those on the road be safe.

Happy Mardi Gras! Today would be the day to go to a parade if you want to miss the crowds but you would freeze you a$$ off. It's below freezing all the way to the coast and raining. Most of the roads that have bridges are closed including parts of I-10. It's suppose to be above freezing this afternoon so things should clear up. When I shouldn't be on the road I can think of all kinds of places I want to go.

I picked Snowball up yesterday. We are trying to keep him in the house but he is begging to go out. I should let him out. When he sees how cold it is and it's raining he would want back in.

I must have gone to sleep about 9:30 last night and was awake at 1:30, That's why I try to stay up until 12 or 1:00. Not much going on in the middle of the night. I finally went back to sleep and was up at 6:00.

I should order Hank an indestructible toy and maybe he would leave his bed alone. Our cattle dogs have never been interested in toys or playing fetch. They look at me like I have lost my mind if I throw a ball and try to get them to go get it.

I need to get on my taxes too. I will be gone the first week of April and if I don't get them turned in before I leave our CPA is not going to be happy with me. Something I have learned to live with.

G'morning all! :D

Unbelievable ice storms across the country! Same storm system that brought rain to CA last week, which was really needed here...Hope y'all are safe! FL sounds like paradise these days!

Not much going on with Aunt & Cousin--no dr appts this week, so I'm heading to O'side to R&R with sis for a couple of days again. And the weekend temps are to be in the 80's!

Good luck with tax filing! I found out yesterday that NY offers free state AND federal e-filing if income is below $58K. That's me  Sometime it pays to be poor!

Y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Good Morning to All - we are still in warm and sunny Mazatlan, MX and it looks like we'll be here longer than we planned on. If you've been following my blog you know that Bill is in the hospital and has been since Friday. He is awaiting surgery which will probably happen Thursday - we hope. He had a massive score 11 out of 10 ! in his urinerary track brought on by a severly enlarged prostrate. six time normal size now since the infection. No warning he says...and all of a sudden he was very very sick. Medical care is excellent - seen several doctors - full time nursing - orders food from a good restaurant menu and it is delivered [now that he is eating] Status right now is: fever is gone, infection is rapidly clearing up and he feels much better except tired of staying in bed. If infection continues to clear prostrate will be removed on Thursday and with no complications he should be able to come back to RV Friday. He's been visited by some of the best docs in Mazatlan - including one who reminded us of "Dr House" lots of brains no bed side manner. In fact he is the cordinating doctor - saw him again yesterday and now that things are improving he seemed much less scary.
So don't know when we'll be able to start the 2500 mile drive home. It will take Bill a while to get his stamina back I imagine. But looking at the weather back home - we aren't in too much of a hurry.
So that's why I've been absent for a while. I have learned to drive the Jeep down here - but also discovered I can't see very good at night any more!
So have to take taxis then.
I've explained everything much better in the last couple of blogs http://lifeinbrowncounty.blogspot.com

Carol, this has been quite the trip for you this year.
I will keep Bill (and you) in my prayers.
You'll be back home in no time flat, and this will all be a distant memory.
HUGS.

Carol, it sounds like you and Bill are in very good hands down there. I'm glad to hear the infection is clearing. It has been a rough time for Bill, and you, with the adventures of driving around. Continue to keep us informed and know you and Bill are in our thoughts and prayers. lyn

Hello everyone!

It's past noontime and a little cool and damp in Ocala, but it's still better than being in MD. Our home town area had a good dumping of snow yesterday and the schools are closed for the second day in a row. We're paid up here until the end of March and we'll keep watching the weather to see when we should go home. We've been going home way too early the past few years, so if we don't get back to MD until May sometime, that's fine with me.

Today is Shrove Tuesday and we've invited a friend in the park that recently lost his wife to join us for our ritual pancake and sausage dinner.

Carol, I wish the best for Bill and you, and hope he'll be back in the motorhome real soon.

Good to hear that Bill is feeling better. I follow your blog and know how tough the last few weeks have been for the two of you. But things are looking up!! It's going to be a while before things warm up in Indiana so you might as well wait it out in Mexico. Hang in there, take one thing at a time and soon all this will be in the past. Keep us posted.

Carol - I've caught bits & pieces of Bill being ill, but I am glad he is feeling better. Will say extra blessings that surgery goes perfectly and he'll be on the mend sooner rather than later.

Ok - so it's not just a Zorro thing then :P (he's a Australian shepard / cattle dog mix).
