Saturday Morning with Coffee and Heat...

Brrrrrr.....I have not been that cold since we lived in PA before we started our "Life on Wheels" over 9 yrs. ago....Spent yesterday wrapped in layers of clothes and the furnace going full blast.... This week we've been drizzling the water in the sinks during the night....Our friend, Andy, told us to do that this week to help keep his water lines going.....last week we unhooked the water and worked off the water pump...and of course, had the storage bays lights on to keep things somewhat warm there...BUT, the Good News is (from the Sultan, the weather man here... ;) ) is that the temps are forecasted to be above freezing for at least the next week.... :D :D We have wintered in GA for over 7 yrs. and this has to be the coldest winter ever....Okay, I'm done venting....

But the good news since we've been inside for awhile...have been enjoying my crafts....nothing is a finished item, yet, but am making progress.... ;)

Okay, will stop for now...coffee and oatmeal, help yourselves...

Have a warm and safe day, all

Morning Lori and all who follow,

I know what you mean Lori. This has been a very cold winter and it seems like we, especially up here in northern MI and the U.P. haven't really had much of a break from below normal temps. There were a few days this month, but far few. This recent spell has temps diving and wind chills setting records in some areas. We've also been getting blasted with snow and yesterday at one point had a wind gust of 56 mph. Prices are rising on fuel and we are all going to feel it in our pocketbooks. Even those of you who don't have S&B's might find that your propane is going to cost a bit more. Feeling sorry for those in older homes who don't have the financial means to keep their homes warm and are getting hit with high energy bills to boot.

I'm still in my jammies yet but will be getting a move on before long. Not going snow blowing for awhile from looks of it outside.
So will finish up the wood work that I am doing in the kitchen/dining area. Need to put one more coat of poly on baseboards and then cut and fit the corner edging when the poly is dry enough. Have a color picked out to do the living room, but doubt I will be able to go get it today. Darn. Would have loved to be painting in this crappy weather. Good time to do it.

Need to do some reading on here to catch up with the goings on, so will wish all of you a good day. Please keep safe and warm, all of you.

Good Morning, It is warmer today and supposed to be 50 tomorrow :? but Monday the high will be 20! That is crazy, but after two really cold days next week the weather buy says a warming trend is coming. He better be right!
Sue propane has doubled in price here, a friend told me last night it cost $1000.00 to fill their tank 1/2 full!! Earlier price was around $2.50 and this time price increased to around $4.60. Seems as though there is a propane shortage. I can't imagine what people on a strict budget do, you can't live without heat in this kink of weather. Another friend was saying her neighbors leave their dog out all the time and he comes to her house wanting inside. She has talked to them but they are clueless. Her sister who lives out of the area wants a dog and I suggested she should consider a 'relocation'. It would be kinder that letting the coyotes get it or the dog bunchers who sweep the rural areas.
Lori, yes let those pipes drip mine have been for several nights this winter, something I've only need to do a couple of times before in the 17 years we have lived here.
time to feed the dogs and head to the winter farmers market for my organic eggs, greens and fresh carrots. The carrots especially have been soooo good. We are so fortunate to have fresh local produce available through the winter months!!
Hoping it gets warm for all of us soon!!

Mornin' Lori, Sue (on edit & Redetotry posted as I was writing) & all those that are sleeping in ~~~ frigid here again. Our high for today has already occurred. Winds are strong. Looks like a white out between the houses with the blowing snow. Are snow devils the winter version of dirt devils? Internet is still blaming minimal sun activity on the brutal cold and mini-ice age is mentioned again also. News report says propane is up $1 since a month ago. Is propane measurered by the gallon? I have no clue. {{{brrr}}}} I better move to southern Illinois Redetotry. They are calling for -2 in Chicago on Monday.

Waiting to see what your next project(s) are Lori and Sue. Crafts are about all that keep the cabin fever at bay sometimes.

Stay warm everyone (broken record). Spring will get here sooner or later.

Good morning from sunny but chilly Florida! We are going manatee hunting shortly at the Three Sisters springs in the kayaks. Should be a lot of them back there with it being so cold. Too bad it is too cold for us to get in the water with them.

Hopefully the weather all over will start warming up some now. We all need a break from this!

Have a good day, and I will see some of you tomorrow! :D

good morning ladies
feel so bad for those suffering in the freezing temps, I do remember what that feels like. Hope you get a weather break soon, at least
enough to thaw out a little as we still have another good month of winter. Spring will be here before you know it.
I'm doing nothing more than routine stuff this weekend but soon, real soon (like next weekend) I'll be back on budget. Honestly, I never
considered the wedding and then Christmas to set me back so far but I'm getting there and making plans to treat myself for my birthday.
Did a doctor visit during the week, a routine check up and bloodwork. Am glad to say I'm still in great health and hope to keep it that way.
Doc even did an ekg and heart is good :D , blood pressure, 120 over 80. Won't know the cholesterol number yet but I expect it to be good.
It has been 166 and 167 for the last 13 years and thats when I ate junk every day. But I'm eating healthier for this past couple years and should still see good number on the cholesterol. Next appt is the icky one, well, the colonoscopy thing as I've never had one yet but I'm
on board with it now and will be glad to get it done.
About that time to wake up Maggie so I can strip the bed and wash the sheets. She gets so frustrated when I take her bed away. I
think she forgets its my bed too.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe. Hope you can get warmed up.

Good morning all :D

G'grief! Seems like there's no such thing a just "weather" anymore! Everything is "extreme"--heat, rain, drought, floods, cold, snow, wind! Mini ice-age? Global warming? CRAZY--& a bit scary! Yep, Lori, who'd-a-thunk you'd be freezing in Georgia  or FL

Barbie, so glad to see you made it to FL. Have fun with the manatees... & Sarah, on your way solo--what a difference from a year ago! You're a pro now! :D Ava, still on target to get into your RV? I know the feeling--plan plan plan & still budgets suffer :(

All is well here with cousin & aunt. Other cousins will be coming for a visit today, so that will be nice. One of them I haven't seen for probably 45 years!

Well, y'all have a great day, be safe always & KEEP WARM 8-)

Good Morning All, I'm home from Quartzsite for a few days. I had a very nice time out there visiting with all the friends who gather once a year at various sites in the desert. As soon as I get a little business taken care of and get the cosy camper cleaned, I'll be off again for Apache Junction. The weather was warm and beautiful!!! I had a solar panel put on the cosy camper and it works great. So, more boondocking for me.

I'm so sorry for all those freezing in the southwest. And the midwest. And in Florida! What a terrible cold winter this is. Northern Calif is beginning to talk of water rationing. Their draught is horrendous and the snow pack is down this year.

Stay safe and warm each and everyone. lyn

Carolb your shift to the west coast was well timed with the cold temps here. Weather is warming a bit this week which will be nice for the GTG starting today. We'll be heading over tomorrow. Have to do laundry and pack rig.

Planning Spring Break. Some of the state parks I like are already booked that week. Want to avoid too much driving. Would rather be kayaking on the river instead of driving around the whole week. Have to get creative and figure something out.

Good Morning
A better night again; never thought I'd be grateful for a low of 27 and light winds but it sure beats zero to 20 with strong north winds! The little space heater coupled with layering kept temps quite tolerable last night. No sunshine this morning but hoping it will show as day goes on and warm things up a bit more; actually, a lot more. Shoulder and breathing still bothering me so hoping warmer temps will help both.
Since I decided to stay put until Sunday morning it was pure luxury this morning to have my full 4 cups of coffee - don't do that on travel days to help limit need for potty stops. In taking some of the window covers down to let light in, discovered a lot of dust everywhere - might tackle some of that today - could help unstop my head.
Just starting to discover things I missed in my hasty packing; mostly annoying stuff but most important so far: hearing aid batteries. I have one set which I had to use this morning. Since they only last about 5 days, verbal communication could become difficult at gtg.
Wishing all a good day.

Good Morning,

As much as I hated to miss the FL GTG, I am happy to be back in Arizona and missing the cold weather! I'm sure you will all still have a great time at the GTG.

Modifications continue on truck and camper. I have given up planning my days until all this is done. In the evening one thing is decided and by morning someone has changed his mind! :) I couldn't go any longer without vacuuming on Thursday and yesterday we tracked in and out running wires for the backup camera! The needed electrical wiring for truck to camper won't be here until Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully the camper can be loaded Thursday afternoon. I don't mind having it off, but just feel better when it is on.

To all of you in the cold, stay warm! Safe travels to those on the road!

The sun is shining and melting all the ice! When I first walked in the kitchen this morning, looked out the back windows, nothing going on, opened the front window curtain and it was raining! Huh? Oh wait, it was the ice melting off the roof.

Just got back from kayaking with the manatees! What an awesome experience! Lots of manatees and babies! I even had a manatee come up and nuzzle my hand! The weather was perfect too, altho too cool to swim. There were people snorkling with them tho. Cathy's husband got in the water with them too. He had one manatee playing with him! It was a great day! We did that instead of going to the Kumquat Festival. I can live without seeing a kumquat
Tomorrow morning we are going to Tampa for Cathys grandsons second birthday party. After that we will head to the GTG at Hillsborough. Looking forward to another wonderful day!
