Goooood Morning Sistahs!!!

It's Saturday and the beginning of my work week. Blech!!! I won't have another day off until next weekend. But? I don't know yet if it will be both Saturday or Sunday??? Oh joy. I am hoping that they will cut back a little on the mandatory overtime. ~sigh~ It's nice in the pay check but sure does raise he77 with other things. :)

Just a quickie this morning as we are running late. But you had best believe that the coffee pot is sitting here waiting on ya'll. Along with a bunch of Christmas goodies to eat. So have at it. Please someone finish off them dang cookies!!! My hips and butt are telling me I've ate enough of them.

Hope everyone has a beautiful day and stays safe!!!

Love to all

Good Morning Echo! Thanks for getting the coffee on,
I sure hope our Barbzeee is relaxing today. You have been doing a great job zeee, getting us started.

Oh, the holiday leftovers are killing me,.... let's see for b'fast I had o.j. as usual. Then,.... the last two orange frosted cinnamon buns,... and the last christmas cookie. Hmmmmm..... I feel like a garbage can!

Gotta get that sweet tooth under control after this sugar-fest we've been on for a few days.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone. Been up quite a while but just now getting around to posting. Christmas day was very quiet here - no phone service and Bill spent the day in bed as his cold turned really nasty. Yesterday he was up and about for a while, but to bed early. I've been watching so many episodes of House I now have every sympton of every unusual disease known to man. And I also found out I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader - in fact couldn't answer a 1st grade grammer question. Great for the ego.
Also this is a bad time of year for us - our son died on the 29th of Dec 2 years ago. So every time I see an add on TV for an ATV it kind of rubs it in and I get real angry - want to throw the remote. It surprises me how really angry I am. When we visited with his wife she remarked that if one more person told her "He is in a better place." she was going to hit them. In a way I understand her feelings. I just want the next few days to be over. Seems that it should be easier this year but it isn't. When visiting with the family our granddaughter showed us one of her Christmas gifts from her mom's boyfirend - it was a helmet for riding ATVs - Billl had to leave the room. I know life goes on - and I'm glad they are able to continue doing things they all enjoy....but.....
To change subject - just checked on the weather from home Nashville, Indiana - it supposed to be in high 60s today then snow tonight. Crazy weather. Nice here.
Sorry for the downer feel better writing it down.

Good morning everyone! I'm with you too...enough of the sweet treats, already. The scales keep going up and up.

Yesterday I spent all day going through boxes of documents, family photos and other memoribilia. I keep trying to downsize all that stuff, but it's very time consuming, 'cause I have to stop and look and reminisce all the while I'm doing it. I ended up throwing away only a minimal amt. and packed the rest in a Rubbermaid container (instead of the cardboard boxes they were in). The girls might enjoy walking down memory lane when they have to make the decision of what to keep and what to toss when I'm gone.... I usually do this about once a year, so gradually, I'll pare it down some more.

Today, I'll tackle another file cabinet to do the same...or maybe I'll work outside...it's shorts weather here and hate to waste it inside. I'll have another cup of that coffee while I decide, and read through the other posts.

Happy day to all!

(ps...just saw your post, Carol. I'm sorry you are having to relive that unhappy time. I do understand, as my husband died on Dec. 8th, just before the holidays. It's been 5 years, and the day will always bring sad memories, it does get easier in time. Now I spend time, like yesterday, reminiscing about the good times we had together.)

Carol, Liz...

I'm with you both,.. my mom died in early Dec. too.

I'm sure Carol that your granddaughter didn't mean to bring back bad thoughts when she showed you the helmet, kids just don't think like that. As she grows older she'll develop the art of thinking ahead and how it will affect others. I can't imagine losing a child, it just isn't supposed to happen. My heart goes out to you and Bill.

Liz, you seem to be honoring your DH with a good life. I may not be wording that well, but I think you will know what i mean.

hugs to both of you (bill, too)

well good morning, and I've been up for a very long time, woke up and felt it was
morning and I was rested. Got up, started in on my coffee and turned on the news
and the computer, it wasn't even 3 oclock yet!! Guess I'll get extra stuff done this
morning and then take a nap later. So, I'm already geared up to head out the
door to do my routine saturday morning errands. Catch ya all later when I get back
as I do have something to share with ya'll.

It is quite warm today in Illinois, almost 65 when I went out for the paper at seven! Not good as this kind of weather can bring on the storms.

Carol, I hope Bill feels better soon and that this week will soon be over, sending you both a big hug.

Go buy him a tiny bottle of Irish Mist liquor for his cough, a little sip works way better than cough syrup.

I'm sorry for all of you dealing with memories of deaths and funerals now - or really any time of the year. Whenever it happens, it's hard. I do understand wanting the time to pass - and that writing and sharing about it can help - so I'm glad you did that, Carol.

Me, I slept in this morning longer than intended. Woke up early and said, nope, too early, and went back to sleep. Must have been the good food and company last night, as Sparkle and I went down to the state cg near here to meet with Bob - one of the singles from the singles forum. He had made some excellent chicken, Sparkle brought the potatoes (she argued with herself over two potato recipes so she made both!) and I brought the salad. Yes, my job was easier, but I also go to do the dishes :) And I'll do it over and over again for the good food! Dishes are fine with me. Oh, Bob had hinted that he wanted a pumpkin pie, so Sparkle brought him one, and I brought him the whipped topping - so he got a whole pie to eat. He had mentioned to me that he made cookies the previous day, so while I've been trying to get all the cookies out of my house like mentioned above, I managed to eat a couple of his :)

Sparkle and I cut our walk back this morning. After doing over 5 miles yesterday, we both were limping a tad (ok maybe a bit more than a tad, especially Sparkle, who would limp and cry out with every step) last night. Did that keep us off the beach today? Nope, we went planning on walking 2 miles, but added some more and made it at least 2 1/2. We are not wimps. We might be limping and making peeping noises again tonight at bingo, but I'll be bringing another big glass of Baileys chocolate mint - so what's a sore foot/ankle?

Going to read more of the forum, then spand some time with a book. Have a great day.
