Sunny Sunday, finally, in GA....

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sun Jan 12, 2014 8:15 am

Yes, that's right....the sun came up over Sapelo Island in all it's glory and now we're waiting for it to do it's job of drying out and warming up everything... :o

We're planning a campfire sometime today and the guys have their menu all planned, too...I believe shrimp is part of it...

Okay, this is short...got coffee ready and Ernie's whipping up some french toast...

Have a great day, all...

Mornin Lori and all that follow. Warm (?) here today ~ maybe high 30's or low 40's ~~~ finally after the 'polar vortex' of last week. One of those every 30 years is more than enough.

Hoping to get out & about a little today tired of being in the house so much but not sure which direction to head.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning ladies
Sorta chilly this morning but it will warm up into the 70's today.
It would be nice to get out and about but my gas is budgeted
to get me through til payday. Will do more sorting and packing
my stuff as I find it gives me comfort as I see the top shelf prepared
with everything ready to make its way to the car and the other
shelves becoming very empty. Maybe I will tackle the little kitchen
area today.......and maybe not :P
Ya'll have a great day and hope everyone is warming up.

A Cheery Good Morning everyone,

Yes, the little "warm up" was nice, but not going to last. Another cold blast coming in later this week and heading down south again too. temps in mid 20's predicted as far as FL again. So guess you had better bundle up again if you are down south, and get those Smartwool socks ordered  Actually I did not enjoy having those warm temps here if you want to call upper 30's warm. The result was freezing rain and rain and turned the roads especially the secondary roads into ice rinks. I could have skated on my road yesterday. It was the worse I have seen winter roads up here in a long time. Even the main roads were a mess. Some county road commissions had to put tire chairs on their big trucks to keep them from sliding off the back roads as they tried to sand them. But now snow in forecast again, so that will help greatly in covering up the ice and making better traction

Ms. Sassy and I had an interesting visit to a Chiropractic Vet the other day. Sassy has been having some issues with her left back leg/hip area especially after taking a tumble coming off some steps up north last fall and I have been a bit concerned about it. My vet couldn't find anything wrong though. So while up north last month I did some research and found this vet about 50 miles away. Emailed her and she said she would be happy to look her over. Went over on Friday, exam, ex rays etc. and shows nothing wrong other than a little arthritis inflammation. But she got a chiropractic adjustment and I have supplements on order from Drs. Foster and Smith for her. Don't know if any of you have used their Joint Care products, but great stuff. So she seems a little better now after the adjustment. Follow up again at end of month.

Ava, I can feel excitement building as you start preparing to move into your "home onf wheels". I've been giving thought to my tT of late too. Would like to sell and get a different model Maybe in spring. First need new tow vehicle. On agenda later this spring.

Otherwise same old around here. Getting ready to install some wainscoting in kitchen area, so will be doing that this week and then off to next project. Just getting the house spruced up a bit not that it isn't any way. New paint etc. Will keep me out of mischief.

Have a great day all.

Good morning everyone,

We've also got a beautiful sunny day in KS. These are the winter days that we love! Getting up to high 50s possibly even 60 today - woohoo! :o Sadie is pestering me for a good long walk - it is definitely in the plans today!

I know what you mean about the roads though, Sue. Yesterday morning was probably our most treacherous day of the winter here - rain from Friday, moist air & cold temps Friday night turned roads into skating rinks Saturday morning - glad I didn't have to get out. OUr crews are out filling pot holes now - one of the side effects of the freeze & melt cycles.

Ava, your posts inspire me to sort things out too... little by little, we'll get there - but it is an undanting task at times. ;)

Well, I'd better get moving - already had second cup of coffee - maybe head out for that walk. :D
Take care & stay safe.

I believe the other 3 Baja Babes went to the restaurant here for breakfast. I'm just kicking back and taking my time this morning. Still in my robe - and in no hurry to change that :) So they'll probably head down to the beach before me today, too! (They stopped at WalMart yesterday on their tour of town - and I'll do it today.) We'll all end up at the beach later.

Glad to hear most of you are out of that severe cold - and hope it doesn't come back. I know you'll still get cold, but that was something beyond fun! Hate when the Farmers Almanac is as correct as it seems to be this year, eh? Who was it that posted in the fall that this was to be a cold winter?

Good morning.
We have a beautiful day forecast here also; maybe the only one for the whole week. Niece is still critical. The infusion of new blood is not bringing her white cell count up as doctors had hoped but they are going to try more blood today.
I have no idea how Magic faired in the last bitter cold snap. Need to get down to check on her but not sure if will make it. Really need to run engine a little while before next cold spell. Yes, it is coming back mid-week.
Wishing all a good day.

Sarah, I sure hope the additional blood works for your niece and they can move her off the critical list. Go visit Magic, sit in there, run the furnace and relax a bit.

We had a nice day yesterday, I even opened the windows to get some fresh air going through the house. I think today will be a bit cooler, tomorrow brings rain. :(

Work was busy again today. It was 38* today so lots of melting and slop, but that is a good thing! Cooling off a little here this week but still in the 20's for highs, so not bad.

Coco is doing a little better the past day or two. I am going to make him some "Duck Soup" (no actual ducks involved). It is a concoction of moistened kibble, Ensure, and chicken and turkey baby food, blended into a yucky liquidy mush. They love it and it is high in protein for them when they are not feeling well enough to eat on their own. I want to get him used to eating it now as a treat so if/when needed later on, he will be very willing to eat it then. I pour it into ice cube trays and freeze it. Just take out a cube at a time and microwave it for a meal.

Am also looking into some holistic remedies for him. There is one I used on a ferret years ago that worked very good at giving him more energy and adding some weight and strength, thus better quality of life for awhile. There are some new ones too, I have been reading about that I need to look into further. Prednisolone is something that is commonly used for ferrets with cancer, but the side effects are not good, so I would like to avoid that if possible.

Am counting down the days til my trip to Florida! I plan to stop at the GTG on Sunday or Monday (26/27th) but will figure that out later. Can't wait to meet all of you who will be there!

Sarah, I hope your niece gets better soon! Hopefully, they can find something to make her feel better and get back on her feet soon!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
