Crap!!! Back to the "early rising " again... :? Well, the sleeping in was great for a few days....maybe it will come back soon...but in the mean time...I don like NAPS....

Got a busy day, today....Am doing some Christmas cookies....and of course, it's Monday, so it's laundry day.... I plan to put the Christmas music on for awhile, too...I think Ernie's got all the food items for tomorrow bought....but am sure he'll do a run to the store for something...

I see the "Baja Gals" are on their way south to the border...getting all those important items before crossing into Mexico...am so looking forward to their blog posts and posting here about their adventure.... ;)

Okay, more coffee and have a few of those Pecan/caramel rolls left and I just warmed them up....

Have a safe and joyous day, all....Tomorrow is Christmas Eve.. :D

Good morning Lori & everyone!

Lori, I don't like naps, either. For me, they ruin a good nights sleep.

We're finally on the road but didn't get very far. Due to lousy weather and aggressive drivers, we pulled over in Richmond VA. We'll be leaving after we get a bite to eat and heading to visit with friends in NC. That was our intention yesterday, but needless to say, that didn't happen. Hopefully tomorrow we'll make it to GA. Maybe we can see Lori & the Sultan while we're there! Have a good day everyone and stay safe!

Good Morning everyone,

Been MIA here for a few days, so need to play catch up. Course on here, you never do that, cause things are changing all the time :) But just wanted to let you know I haven't gotten buried in the white stuff or anything like that. Just been busy doing other stuff and enjoying life in the U.P.

Lori, sorry to see you are up and at em earlier than you want to be. I have the same problem, usually up a bit after 6. But can relax and have nice quiet morning for awhile and watch the day break. And the fur kid needs her morning "potty" walk too.

Irmi, I wondered how far you were going to be able to get with that winter storm moving up the east coast. There are crazy drivers all over it seems. Even up here, people are driving faster for conditions then they should. I"ve seen more accidents here since I've been here, then I've seen in a long time. Even had somebody pass me on a curve in a no passing zone the other day and I was doing between 55 and 60

Looks like a bit of snow shoveling out there this morning. Hubby was under the weather yesterday with stomach issues, so wife may have to do some of the stuff out here. Trash day today too, so I may be giving her a hand. TX guys are gone to work and the two ladies that flew up from TX (one's wife and one's finace) are here for two weeks, so there's been some playing in the snow going on in the afternoons. I was out for awhile with them on Saturday, towing one of the guys around on a deflated swimming pool out on the lade. Crazy bunch, lots of laughs.

So, am off to see what's doing around here and maybe later head for town myself. Have a great day all, safe travels to those on the road right now.

Good morning

Irmi - at least you have started south - hope todays travel will be easier.

We escaped any serious damage in the storms Saturday night. A few downed trees and power outages - mine was out from midnight until a little after 3:00 AM - so I didn't get to bed until it came back on so I could use the CPAP.

I have a surprise house guest for a few days. Old friend made last minute decision to visit her son here for Christmas. He just got married a couple of months ago and they have a small house without a guest bedroom so she is staying with me. Good to see her again.

Turning cold here again. Looks like we will be lucky to get into the 40s most days this week. It was 75 degrees at midnight on Saturday. Miss the warm but think we might have sunshine most of the week.

Since I have someone to share them, I think I'll make some pumpkin muffins later - lemon sounds good or maybe gingerbread.

Have a good day.

Good morning to all. - Well we will be on the road today - a long drive about 350 miles - in Mexico even on the toll road that is like 600 in the states. We hope to get to Mazatlan with no problems. Got the Jeep back yesterday afternoon. Running fine again.
glad the day is clear and sunny and hopefully no wind. We'll be inland most of the day - much like driving through the south west scenery. Farms, flat land some hills and brush.
So best get ready.

Good Morning… cloudy but will be 84 later and clear off… tomorrow and Christmas will be in the 60s that will be great for cooking my apple cobbler for the pot luck…

UGH today I will get help taking things down from over the cab… it seems there was a leak and it is wet under the mattress… so glad there is a vinyl bottom to it… then will clean the area and air out the mattress… right not I think the rain came in the windows but will see later…

Our Baja ladies are on the move… way to much fun for one year!

Off to fill the coffee cup and think about getting Shadow out for his walk…

Hope to see Irmi soon…
Kathleen

Good Morning all,
I was awake early too, watched an episode of Monarch of the Glen on Netflix on my iPhone then went back to sleep until seven. I do naps though on days I wake up too early or don't sleep well. DH who is a dedicated afternoon napper, says the trick is not to sleep too long. He sets the timer on his phone for 20 minutes and is good to go until after the news and headlines. It is really funny, right after lunch if he doesn't get his book and head for the couch, Andy who always naps with DH, goes after him and herds him in to the living room.
Irmi sorry you didn't get as far down the road as you had hoped, hope conditions and traffic improve. Sue, it sounds like you are having a good time in the UP, what fun to have a friendly group to visit with. Sarah how nice to have a visitor for Christmas and a surprise one is even better! Kathleen sorry you found a leak, hope it is an easy fix.

Today I have to face the vacuum, the dogs will be so delighted. As soon as I start to shake rugs, they know what comes next and will run to the closet where I keep their favorite toy and wait for the big event.

Good morning all.

Survived the snow, sleet and freezing rain of the past 2 days here in the Ottawa Valley. Son and I will be on the road later this morning, heading for family in the Montreal area. We will stay there until Friday morning , the head south to Maryland for a while.

Have a Happy Christmas.

Good Morning,

Lori, I have been going through the same sleep issues, but I don't mind a nap.

We'll all enjoy the Baja Babes reports!! Wishing them safe travels and wishing I was with them.

The weather continues to be a big topic around the country. I'm glad it will cool down a bit here.

Absolutely nothing going on here except 'neighbor' watching.

Have a good day all.

good morning ladies
for once I actually slept until the alarm went off. I did not finish the afghan yesterday but only about 12 more inches to go so it will be
done today for sure. I need to get over to Costco and get my gas so by the time I finish the afghan the sun should have warmed up my
car so its not a meat locker when I get in it. Need to pick up wrapping paper while I'm out as well. Any housework I need to do can wait
until after Christmas.
Catching up on posts and back to the yarn. Ya'll have a great day, be safe and be warm.

Good Morning All, I'm back home after four delightful days up at Sharon's RV campground. I got to meet Mitch, Liz and Tina and have wonderful visits with them. Laura dropped in for a night so she joined in on the fun. I stayed until Sunday to say "HI" to Beth whom I had met up in Oregon this past summer. All in all, a great time was had. Casey was so tired this morning she slept until 7:20 AM which is about 2 hours later than usual!
I will see if I have any pictures on my camera that haven't been posted and will post them. Sharon is a great cook! I loved her quinoa salad. I went "easy" on the cup cakes Laura recommended. They were much too good!!! lyn

We've been scrambling to reorganize plans for Christmas Day here, since so many of the family are likely to still be without electricity. I wish my tiny apartment was big enough to squeeze everybody in, since I still have power -- but I don't think we could get 20 people in here even if we all sat on the floor. This should be an interesting Christmas!

I think I'll wander over to my sister's house this afternoon. Some of the kids and grandkids are staying there, and right now she's hanging out in a tent in the basement, pretend-camping with a 4-year-old. I'll join in that fun! :D

I got my cake balls and cookies made yesterday. Need to make some candy and deliver everything so I will quit eating cookies. Also need to go get my stuffed chicken for Christmas. That place will be a mad house tomorrow.

Our warm weather has moved on. We had the air conditioner on one day and heat the next. That's South Louisiana weather. Will be close to freezing for 2 nights. Looks like the rain is just making it to the East coast.

I enjoyed the pictures from the Baja Girls and Sharon. So wanted to be there. Doesn't look like I will be going anywhere until about March.

Safe travels to everyone on the road.

Martha

I got up early also, at least early for me--7:00 am with the alarm. Scared up a big horn sheep munching grass right along the roadway on my way out of Valley of Fire SP. Also scared a black-tailed jackrabbit up as I was unhooking this morning. Chilly this morning, but sunny, as usual.

I am now waiting in the LV Fleetwood dealer waiting for them to install my new water pump. It will be nice to have one I can count on and that doesn't take forever to prime.

Then, it will be off to a mall to try to buy some soft stretchy velour pants to wear on the plane. I wear shorts nearly all the time because I have some areas on my knees that are numb from my knee replacements. The right one in particular feels like it has been rubbed with sandpaper after wearing long pants all day, so I know sitting in the plane will really be uncomfortable unless I get something soft. I had another pair I tossed when I moved into my RV because they were too big, so I really need another pair of something. Then need to stock up on groceries and wrapping paper.

Heading to Lake Mead Boulder Campground for four days until I fly out on Friday to Cleveland. Got a cousin who is full-timing there so will spend Christmas dinner with them. Will leave RV in oversized vehicle parking at airport while I head to visit son.

Brrrrr!!! It never got above zero today. We are under a windchill advisory for -30 tonight! And then we are supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow afternoon and evening. That will be a mess for those traveling around here. Glad I don't have to drive too far. I don't worry about driving in the snow but I do worry about the other idiots on the road!

Very busy at the shop today with last minute haircuts. We are open tomorrow until 3 but will probably not be very busy. People will probably be heading out early to get to where they need to go before the snow starts.

I am curled up on the couch with a blanket and have my faux fireplace/heater going. Wish I was heading to Baja about now! Can't wait to get to Florida next month!
